Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
Thanks Sundown. I was in Best buy on Friday and was close to buying either an X or an early Black Friday 4ktv and I wimped out on bothI'm playing an X on a 1080p TV and I definitely notice a subtle but enjoyable improvement. The supersampling makes the game look smoother and anti-aliased and something about that just makes a lot of the players look more real and human. I also think I see better texture detail. 2K already had great lighting and likeness this year but the added smoothness and detail makes the game feel a bit more "alive".
I don't know how much of this is placebo though, lol. And I'm trying to find screen shot comparisons to verify the improvement-- but what's not placebo is the more consistent framerates during highlights (although some replays are still a bit stuttery for some reason), and a big surprise benefit is the quality of in-home streaming.
I sometimes get lazy and play my xbox by streaming it to my PC upstairs rather than go downstairs to where the xbox and TV are. The quality was pretty decent when I did that-- but the X seems to stream with *significantly* better quality and maybe responsiveness than my original xbox One. It might even look better than playing the original without streaming (aside from slight latency and hiccup issues).
Being able to play all my PC and xbox games at high quality whether I'm at my PC or at my TV is a pretty nice thing. Now I'm regretting not getting more of my titles on digital because going downstairs to swap a game is pretty lame.
. From your review I may just go ahead and throw down on the X 1st..
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
You can always return the thing if the improvement doesn't matter enough for you. Or wait a few weeks for a 4k/HDR tv deal + xbox x. You'd definitely see the difference then.

It's out. It was enhanced in the latest patch. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
Because both x and the pro both run at native 4k. There is no difference between the 2 in NBA 2k18So I folded and purchased 2k18 again on the One X and it might be my eyes but I didn't notice even the slightest difference graphically on the One X compared to the PS4 Pro, and the responsiveness wasn't enough to justify another purchase of 2k18 for the One X so I got a refund from Microsoft for it.

Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
Does anyone know why my nba 2k18 still says 52 gigs? I have 4k download content enabled. It also says in my games and apps that its xbox x enhanced. I thought the 4k downloads supoose to be massive for the x.Comment

Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
The way the pro runs 4K isn't quite the same as the Xbox One X, as the Xbox One X has true 4K.
But it is clear that NBA 2K didn't take full advantage of what the Xbox One X offersComment

Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
I don't think NBA2K18 has 4K textures. The overall picture was just upgraded to a 4K resolution. The image looks sharper, colors pop more, lighting a little better. That's about it.It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
you're talking about a checkerboard rendering on some games on pro, but that's not the case for 2K18. it's native or 'true' whatever 4k for both consoles.Comment

Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
I didn't study it but Madden and NBA 2k18 size stayed the same on my X, compared to my S.. but both look way betterComment

Re: Xbox One X Responsiveness
Anyone else feel like there is less input lag on the Xbox One X? Before I would slide a lot online and the issues have been resolved with the One X, a lot more responsiveness, wondering if some issues were graphics related.
I made a topic on input lag and most users were having no issues. Maybe that's because less users experienced them, because most users are using Ps4
I notice a huge input lag. I have the game for both the One X and PS4 Pro. PS4 Pro controls are much snappier. This is very noticeable when playing defense or when passing the ball around quickly. It’s very frustrating.Comment
