Re: NBA 2K18 Roster Update Details (11-15)

    1995 Knicks (10th Overall, 16th Offense, 1st Defense)

Personally, I dislike having the 95 team in the game when the 94 team made the Finals and was more iconic. The only reason they used the 95 team was they wanted a 95 team from that season for Shaq to face off against in those Legends challenges back in 2K12.

    STARTER
    90/C Patrick Ewing (21.9 PER)
    78/PF Charles Oakley (14.8 PER)
    73/SF Charles Smith (13.9 PER) - UNDERRATED
    79/SG John Starks (13.8 PER)
    76/PG Derek Harper (12.8 PER)
    BENCH
    X/PF Anthony Mason (14.9 PER) - MISSING
    73/SG Hubert Davis (14.7 PER) - UNDERRATED
    68/PF Anthony Bonner (9.4 PER) - UNDERRATED
    73/PG Greg Anthony (15.0 PER) - UNDERRATED
    65/C Herb Williams (7.7 PER) - UNDERRATED
    65/SF Monty Williams (8.4 PER) - UNDERRATED
    69/SG Doug Christie
    X/PG Charlie Ward - MISSING

    TEAM NOTES
    1. Mason left the roster after he passed away, not sure what's the hold up with going through his estate to get him back in. He was Sixth Man of the Year in 95.

    2. I know he barely played but why is Charlie Ward missing when he's on the 99 Knicks?????? Lazy/sloppy

    3. The Classic teams are pretty terrible when it comes to non-star ratings. The entire bench is wildly underrated. Anthony Bonner and Monty Williams each started 23 games. Herb Williams was still in the rotation and five years from retirement. Greg Anthony significantly improved his shooting. Hubert Davis averaged 10 points. Just an overall joke.

    4. Charles Smith was pretty hated but the dude averaged 13 PPG and was 3rd on the team in scoring.

      66/C Herb Williams

      TEAM NOTES

      1. The lockout year was terrible all-around. NY barely made the playoffs due to their awful offense, and then ran roughshot over the east in close defensive series. Specifically, Houston, Sprewell, and especially Camby elevated their play in the playoffs.

      2. Anytime a Classic team is missing a starter it's basically a joke. Thomas was an Oakley-esque enforcer and a big reason they were 4th defensively.

      3. This was the 2nd worst shooting season of Houston's career (52 TS%) and he didn't bring much else to the table.

      4. This actually qualified as Sprewell's 2nd best season. He was wildly overrated for much of his career by anyone who ignored shooting percentages. Spree didn't start until Ewing went down in the playoffs.

        2012 Knicks (11th Overall, 17th Offense, 5th Defense)

        STARTER
        87/C Tyson Chandler (18.7 PER) - OVERRATED
        86/PF Amare Stoudemire (17.7 PER) - OVERRATED
        88/SF Carmelo Anthony (21.1 PER)
        X/SG Landry Fields (12.0 PER) - MISSING
        85/PG Jeremy Lin (19.9 PER)
        BENCH
        75/SG Iman Shumpert (10.8 PER)
        78/SG J.R. Smith (15.2 PER)
        75/PF Steve Novak (15.9 PER)
        73/C Jared Jeffries (10.9 PER)
        70/PG Toney Douglas (7.1 PER)
        74/PG Baron Davis (10.0 PER)
        72/PG Mike Bibby (7.8 PER)
        X/C Josh Harrellson (13.7 PER) - MISSING
        X/C Jerome Jordan - MISSING
        X/C Dan Gadzuric - MISSING

        TEAM NOTES
        1. This season was the beginning of the end for Amare Stoudemire, who fell from 25 to 18 PPG. He was not an All-Star caliber player.

        2. I'm as big a Chandler fan as any, but it's weird to see him so high given his offensive limitations. Compare to the various iterations of Patrick Ewing.

        3. Landry Fields, just another starter missing in action by 2K. He retired and is a scout for the Spurs; Can't imagine it being difficult to secure his rights.

This team suffered a ton of injuries like the previous lockout year. Never really were at full strength together.

I'm looking for Donovan Mitchell to get a nice boost. I just play with his current form. He's fast... Lol

73/PG Dante Exum - OUT INDEFINITELY

              TEAM NOTES
              1. Derrick Favors rebounded from a sub-par 2017. He’s shooting a career high 61 TS%, up from last season’s career low of 51%. Also posting his best Assist rate.

              2. Jerebko is having a career year. Has 66 TS% thanks to 49 3PT%. Previous high was 58 TS% (42 3pt%) back in 2014.

              3. Sefolosha likewise having a career year, shooting 61 TS% (41 3PT%), with career best marks of 21 DRB% and 3.3 STL%.

              4. Burks hasn’t been healthy much the last 4 years. 54 TS% is up from last season’s career low 50 TS%. Posting his best DRB%, STL%, and easily BLK%, along with the lowest turnover and foul rates of his career.

              5. Johnson hasn’t played a ton yet due to injury, but he’s also 36 and has struggled in the minutes he’s gotten. The other backup wings have overperformed which means he’ll be hardpressed to carve a meaningful rotation spot once healthy.

              6. As with the rest of the bench, Neto having a career year due to improved shooting.

lol right, I swear Simmons puts up the quietest dominant stats lines I've seen in a while.

I was at the game in Philly this past Saturday and thought he played poorly (it was his worst game of the year IMO)

He still had 5 points 10 rebounds 6 assists and 2 blocks

That isn't a "quiet dominant" stat line. That's a Lonzo Ball stat line.

                    I did not quote you.

Anyway, Ben Simmons is the only player in NBA history to average 18+ ppg 9+ rpg 7+ apg and 2+ spg in their rookie season, sorry Oscar, steals weren't tracked then, I'm sure you would've had this.

Only 2 people have ever qualified under this stat line:
Magic 81-82 in his 3rd season
Fat Lever 88-89 in his 7th season
(Westbrook qualifies this year as well)

Simmons is a special player, generational talent really, I think his defensive impact is being underrated in 2k and overlooked due to his style of play - people always mention his dunking, driving, playmaking and rebounding, never any defensive aspects.

With 6 steals last night, Simmons is still 2nd in the NBA with 2.3 spg - deserving of not only a boost in steals but overall defensive statistics as well IMO.

Still on the slight bump for Embiid train too
