Are you actually using John Collins boost (from 73 OVR) as a reference point right now?

        Thank you

This is not the way Rashidi. I think he has a valid argument. It's ok to be right or wrong here. But turning this into a argument with a 5 year old. With that last post makes no sense.

Let's just agree to disagree I guess. See you in the next argument.

TIL: Jordan Crawford, Kyle O'Quinn, etc are comparable to Al Horford because John Collins plays for the Hawks

agreed, they should do it the way PES does it where each position is listed with whether a player majority plays/ can play/ does not play

Everybodies knows about the Greek Freak power, but I think he is letterally unstoppable in game.
Jut drive (expecially lateral), push out the defender, and slam over the help defense.
You can score 40/50 with him in easy mode, I try to share the ball with my teammates for real game stats, but this is unnatural.

What do you think guys, is he overpowered?

Wonder what he’ll be on the next update. A guy who shot .412 from 3 on 8 attempts last year is rated 80 from 3 cause he had a rough first 5-7 games.

Re: NBA 2K18 Roster Update Details (11-15)

A few gripes I have with current roster:

Lowry is shooting 36% from the 3 after shooting 41% last season, his 77 three is unfair. His dramatic decrease from 87 to 83 is really undeserved, he needs to be put back up to an 85-86.

Delon Wright and OG Annunoby are rated too low. Wright needs defensive improvements as well as an increase in shot IQ, as he is shooting 52% fg despite struggling somewhat from three. OG has been a solid starter in place of Powell, his three (open and contested) is slightly low for a guy banging down 37% of them, his shot IQ at 69 is way too low too.

Why does Myles Turner still have great post game? He doesn't play in the post at all! His post attributes (84, 88, 89), are currently better than Joel Embiid's (88, 79, 70) for reference. His three is going down and he can make them contested too, so at 55 his contested three probably can go up to 65+. Same with contested mid-range at 80.

Why was Bojan Bogdanovic's three reduced in the last update? He's shooting 46% from three! All his three ratings, his open and contested especially need big bumps. I would put open up from 81 to 87-89 and contested up from 74 to 82.-84.

I think Hassan Whiteside needs to be looked at. His hustle and all-around effort has been very poor this season. Shot contest at 98 is way too high, his reaction time at 95 is too high as well. His hustle at 90 is ludicrous, I would have it below 80 for sure. For reference, Whitesides hustle is 5 points higher than Pascal Siakham, a player known for his effort and energy.

Damian Lillard's shot IQ at 98 is far too high. He has never shot over 45% in a season in his career, and is shooting a career low .409 from the field this season. We all know he can get hot and drain shots, so his three at 77 is too low, I think it should be around 80. His shot IQ is what holds him back. I would lower by 10+ to 85-88.

Kemba Walker's ball control. Its only 88. He has one of the best handles in the league! 92-94 for me.

Jaylen Brown, still tow low for me. He has developed incredibly from last season on the offensive end. Shooting over 45% from the field and just under 40% from 3. His shooting ratings are far too low. Especially the contested shots. He can now drain shots with a hand in his face as well as when open. Currently his contested 3 is 55 and mid-range is 64. Steal/pass perception at 64/67 is too low as well.

I agree with all of that. The biggest miss is Brown.I actually think Boston as a whole hasn't been rated right. They have won 15 straight. Have the best recorded in the league.

I think it's funny you mentioned Joel and Turner. I don't think Joel has much of a post up game either. He like to face up a lot. But I agree Turner has no business with that rating

Also so I made a few changes to the Nets 2001 myself to see if anything was over powering. And just to get a sense of why Martin and Kittles are rated so low. But they changes played out really well. Especially in terms of defense and running.

Lowry wasn't playing well until about 10 days ago (and the roster update was 5 days ago). He'll go back up.

Delon Wright and OG Annunoby are rated too low. Wright has been underrated for awhile but he's also among the least durable players in the NBA, logging 68 games in three years, and he just injured his shoulder.

OG's rating is probably fine given that his DRB (9.1%) is poor for a SF. Everything else is efficient so maybe he goes up a point.

Why does Myles Turner still have great post game? He doesn't play in the post at all! Post Frequency
Embiid: 39.4% (0.96 PPP) - leads league in volume
                      Turner: 15.6% (0.77 PPP)

I agree that this is a big problem that 2K has historically had, they generally don't look at skill-specific attributes like Post Offense, they stick mostly to 3PT/FT ratings or rebound ratings because they prefer to just plug the numbers into Excel and be done with it.

The reason why my ratings were significantly better than 2K's for a number of years is I gave the league-wide attention to detail that they're as-of-yet unwilling to provide.

                      Turner Post Up Data
                      2016: 21.9% Freq / 0.85 PPP (53rd percentile)
                      2017: 9.7% Freq / 0.89 PPP (54th percentile)
                      2018: 15.6% Freq / 0.77 PPP (30th percentile)

                      Embiid Post Up Data
                      2017: 32.2% Freq / 0.88 PPP (52nd percentile)
                      2018: 39.4% Freq / 0.96 PPP (72nd percentile)

Embiid leads the league in Post-Up volume, ahead of LaMarcus Aldridge. However, the PPP is an extremely volatile and small sample. Just going off last season it's clear that Embiid is the better post player (volume matters quite a bit here).

Why was Bojan Bogdanovic's three reduced in the last update? He's shooting 46% from three! All his three ratings, his open and contested especially need big bumps. I would put open up from 81 to 87-89 and contested up from 74 to 82.-84.
This one a bit strange but he was only 38.8% back on Nov 8.

IDK, Whiteside posts historic numbers every year and this one is no exception. He's leading the league with 40.3 DRB% which would be the highest total in NBA history.

                      Single-Season DefReb%
                      37.9% Reggie Evans (2013)
                      37.8% Dennis Rodman (1995)
                      36.7% Dennis Rodman (1993)
                      36.2% Andre Drummond (2017)
                      35.3% Hassan Whiteside (2017)

This isn't to say he's anywhere comparable to Rodman in terms of effort level (size matters here) but I don't really have a problem with a 90 in what is ultimately a subjective rating.

Boston as a whole is nothing like they are in real life. Their defense is laughable in 2K because they still underrate pretty much everyone's defense on that squad. Especially Jaylen's. I don't like most of the badges but since they're there, I think he deserves some defensive badges. He doesn't even have one badge.

The plays they run in 2K are so different to what they run irl. Don't even get me started on that again.

This one a bit strange but he was only 38.8% back on Nov 8.

IDK, Whiteside posts historic numbers every year and this one is no exception. He's leading the league with 40.3 DRB% which would be the highest total in NBA history.

                          Single-Season DefReb%
                          37.9% Reggie Evans (2013)
                          37.8% Dennis Rodman (1995)
                          36.7% Dennis Rodman (1993)
                          36.2% Andre Drummond (2017)
                          35.3% Hassan Whiteside (2017)

This isn't to say he's anywhere comparable to Rodman in terms of effort level (size matters here) but I don't really have a problem with a 90 in what is ultimately a subjective rating.
I think Whiteside is lazy at times, although he remains a very good defensive rebounder. He would never throw himself at a lose ball if he though there was a chance of a big collision in my opinion. The heat announcers have commented on this numerous times this season.

Yeah, I noticed no post attributes were changed at all in the first few updates.

On Wright's undurability, there are attributes for that and it shouldn't affect his in-game attributes at all right?

I think it's funny you mentioned Joel and Turner. I don't think Joel has much of a post up game either. He like to face up a lot. But I agree Turner has no business with that rating

Also so I made a few changes to the Nets 2001 myself to see if anything was over powering. And just to get a sense of why Martin and Kittles are rated so low. But they changes played out really well. Especially in terms of defense and running.
Joel doesn't do many crazy fadeaways from the post but they post him down low often. His post control and footwork is exceptional as we saw in L.A. the other night when he shook Randle. The fact Turner's is higher than Joel's is crazy.

One other point I noticed, Cody Zeller is averaging 5.0 offensive rebounds per 36 and 7.0 defensive per 36. Currently his rebounding ratings are in the high 60s - low 70s.

Shot contest at 98 is way too high, his reaction time at 95 is too high as well. His hustle at 90 is ludicrous, I would have it below 80 for sure. For reference, Whitesides hustle is 5 points higher than Pascal Siakham, a player known for his effort and energy.
Man speaking of Siakam, he needs a big bump in his athleticism. He's one of the fastest big men in the league.
