Sometimes I wonder why can't they release a full solid gameplay from the start like in the old days?

Patches are supposed to be what they are called; patches. By definition it should be some minor adjustments like new shoes, new hairstyles and all that little things but a slow overhaul of gameplay experience in each patch? That is not what I consider as a patch.

What good old days, you mean when you bought a broken game it stay broken and people accepted it for what it was a glitch and did not cry over social media demanding it be fixed immediately.

In a sports game I think theres nothing wrong with including "fixes" to gameplay in post release patches. After all, it was pretty obvious that this game needs adjustments. The hip riding animation e.g. was simply op. 2k now is an esports game and its actually a good thing for everybody, doesnt matter if you think itll succeed or not. They are now forced to polish the gameplay as much as possible to provide the best gameplay possible. Im not saying that they wouldnt do that without the 2kleague, but it puts a lot more pressure on them imo.

The days when developers actually put in the work to make sure that once the game came out, it had the best gameplay experience it could offer at that time.

That is why the early 2Ks in the early 2000 felt so good because everytime a new 2K was released, the gameplay was so significantly improved compared to the previouse year.

In 2K18, however, when you first bought it, it felt very similar to 2K17 only with updated roster. Only after they released gigabytes of patches after patches then the gameplay felt like a brand new game.

My issue is that 2K developer today seems too lazy to make sure that new release will have significant improvement since day-1. I mean, they have like one year to develop the new edition of 2Ks.

Game has been terrible after patch. So much lag, my player can't shoot anymore, shooting boost makes my shot even worse and you can just spam block button at the moment and contest everything. This game was way better before any patches.

They stay modded unless you move .iff file from waigu/modded folder.

It wasn't the case for Orlando and Detroit when 2k patched the graphics for them. The modded version turned the court floors white. I'm curious if the player heads would go white and headless.

Yeah....im gonna call bs on this. You have not played 2k17 enough to see the changes. You will find yourself alone on this one since the whole community prefers 2k18 gameplay over that slog of a game 2k17.

Also they barely touched the gameplay with patches this year. Do you even have the game?

I think you have a case of the revisionist histories, the reason you believe that those games have any advantage, and I assure you they did not and was even more flawed is because they were not hyper realistic. The more technology advances the more we demand that what we see on tv is replicated prefectly, we have thread dedicated to accessories even down to how many rubber bands a player has on each arm, players jumpshots, wingspan etc... the goal post is not where is was back in the early 2000's.

I was playing the Kings in MyLeague, Willie Cauley-Stein did not get his update.

You're maybe right.

2K moved where .iff files for Orlando and Pistons floors were (the big files) and maybe they did the same for .iff cyberfaces.

Gameplay has been pretty much the same since day 1 even through 7 patches which is great! THE ONLY THING I NEED FIXED is THE SWITCHING HANDS WITH THE BALL AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN IM DRIBBLING UP THE COURT. Only play offline and love the gameplay other than that issue.

with my pg myplayer i been guarded by wall and lonzo and 50/50; 50 times y have this blow by animation and 50 times he was well positioning and lock down me and i have to pass; this for real wasnt in the game, nobody cant lock down you before.

What do you mean by shooting boost? They took that out this year [emoji848]

So if they can update someones hair (like Ball) even within my current my league season, I wonder why they can't also do the roster updates as well.
