Have you played with Houston before. I could tell you last month they weren't the number one team in the league. Them and the Celtics were really not up to the par. I'm guessing this just to boost every more. And he had that 9 dunk game the other day.

    He'll come back down.

      1st in FG% / eFG% / TS%
      6th in PER
      7th in ORB rate
      3rd in DRB rate
      3rd in Rebound rate
      2nd in BLK rate
      2nd in Offensive Rating
      2nd in Defensive Rating
4th in Win Shares per minute
Literally the glue of the league's 2nd best team.

How is he NOT an 87?

Like its's comical nobody bats an eye to Ben Wallace or Dennis Rodman getting high ratings on top tier teams but when an elite rebounder like Hassan Whiteside or Clint Capela show any semblance of offensive skill and earn a high rating everyone loses their damn mind.

Like ya'll know every contender would take Capela over Andre Drummond or Dwight Howard, right?
DeAndre Jordan lead the league in FG% five straight years. Capela snatched that and whaddya know isn't a 40% FT shooter?!

        My Hawks ratings vs 2K

        82/PG Dennis Schroder
        80/C DeWayne Dedmon (+2)
        80/C John Collins (+2)
        79/SG Kent Bazemore (+1)
        77/SG Marco Belinelli (+1)
        76/PF Ersan Ilyasova (-1)
        76/SF Taurean Prince
        72/PF Luke Babbitt (-3)
        72/PF Tyler Cavanaugh
        72/PG Malcolm Delaney
        72/PG Isaiah Taylor (+1)
        71/C Miles Plumlee (+1)
        71/C Mike Muscala (-2)
        69/SF DeAndre Bembry
        67/SG Tyler Dorsey
        67/PG Josh Magette

This is without me gassing up these Intangibles ratings to make it look like I'm doing something. There's a reason they ain't telling you what Attributes got updated this year.

        2K INTANGIBLES COMPARISON
        82/PG Dennis Schroder (65 Intangibles)
        78/C DeWayne Dedmon (80 Intangibles)
        78/PF John Collins (65 Intangibles)
        78/SG Kent Bazemore (75 Intangibles)
        77/PF Ersan Ilyasova (80 Intangibles)
        76/SG Marco Belinelli (90 Intangibles)
        76/SF Taurean Prince (74 Intangibles)
        75/PF Luke Babbitt (95 Intangibles) - LOL
        73/C Mike Muscala (84 Intangibles)
        72/PF Tyler Cavanaugh (82 Intangibles)
        72/PG Malcolm Delaney (79 Intangibles)
        72/PG Isaiah Taylor (60 Intangibles)
        70/C Miles Plumlee (80 Intangibles)
        69/SF DeAndre Bembry (60 Intangibles)
        67/SG Tyler Dorsey (60 Intangibles)
        67/PG Josh Magette (60 Intangibles)
        1,182 Total OVR

Ilyasova was a +30 Intangibles in this update which accounts for the entirety of his OVR change. How many others are there like him in the roster? I wouldn't exactly bank on him being the only one.

How these ratings would look if all players had 60 Intangibles
        82/PG Dennis Schroder
        78/PF John Collins
        77/SG Kent Bazemore
        76/C DeWayne Dedmon
        75/SF Taurean Prince
        75/PF Ersan Ilyasova
        73/SG Marco Belinelli
        72/PG Isaiah Taylor
        72/PF Luke Babbitt
        71/C Mike Muscala
        70/PF Tyler Cavanaugh
        70/PG Malcolm Delaney
        69/SF DeAndre Bembry
        68/C Miles Plumlee
        67/SG Tyler Dorsey
        67/PG Josh Magette
1,162 Total OVR (20 points of OVR added to the Hawks by Intangibles inflation)

Be honest about how these OVR ratings look once you rip the band-aid off. You've got Atlanta's 6th man in a career year clinging by a thread over their 3rd string PG.

Re: NBA 2K18 Roster Update Details, Also Adds a Few Players to All-Time Teams (12-23)

          Knicks Overall Comparison
          89 Porzingis (-2)
          83 Kanter
          80 Hardaway (+1)
          78 Beasley (+5)
          77 O'Quinn
          76 Lee (-1)
          75 Hernangomez
          74 Noah
          74 Ntilikina
          73 Baker (+4)
          73 Jack
          73 McDermott
          72 Sessions
          70 Thomas
          68 Dotson (-1)
          65 Kornet
          66 Hicks

Let's put aside that these ratings are clear Basura (Courtney Lee down?? Ron Baker on par with Jack and McDermott?)

          Knicks Intangibles Comparison
          98 Kanter
          90 Porzingis (-8)
          88 Hernangomez
          85 Beasley (+30)
          78 Hardaway
          78 Baker (+8)
          75 Noah
          70 Sessions
          70 Kornet
          65 O'Quinn (+10)
          60 Lee
          60 Ntilikina
          60 Jack (+10)
          60 Thomas
          50 McDermott
          50 Dotson
          35 Hicks

Here we have yet another player who had a massive improvement yet over half of it is due to this one "band-aidtribute".

          Standardized for 60 Intangibles
          86 Porzingis (-3)
          79 Kanter (-4)
          78 Hardaway
          77 O'Quinn
          76 Lee
          75 Beasley (-3)
          74 Ntilikina
          74 McDermott (+1)
          73 Jack
          73 Noah (-1)
          72 Hernangomez (-3)
          71 Baker (-2)
          71 Sessions (-1)
          70 Thomas
          69 Dotson (+1)
          69 Hicks (+3)
          64 Kornet

LOL the 2K's Knicks ratings are so bad this might actually qualify as an improvement right here.
By comparison only 12 OVR were netted by Intangibles compared to 20 for the Hawks. However the Knicks gained a net of 50 Intangibles (5 fake OVR) in the last update which is close to half that total.

My overall point is that this is "progress" for the sake of progress, and an issue that seems like it will get worse as the season goes on, not better.

Fun exercise: Bring everyone to 60 Intangibles and see what their true OVR ratings are. The facade crumbles pretty quickly after that.

This is what, the 4th roster update since the game dropped? We've already had twice the number of patches.

                  FINALLY SOMEONE SAID this

And two of the worst offensive players of all-time. Don't pretend they were franchise players. A two-way player is logically going to have a higher rating than a specialist.

12 Attributes changed for Ilyasova (out of 47 that affect OVR).
ONE of them accounts for 66% of his OVR boost.
                            Makes sense eh?

It's the same attributes ad nausea: the shooting/counting stats they plug into Excel. No skill evaluation. No imagination. No personal touch. You can tell they never even watched him. I dare say the average OS user is capable of copy/pasting a stats page once every two-to-three weeks. Behind the band-aid, there is a TEAM putting forth this level of effort.

Me personally, If this was what I was putting out there, I'd be losing sleep.

I see you gave Julius Erving #32 (before he had #6)

Joe Johnson needs to be assigned #7 (right now he has #2, which was Kevin Garnett's number on the Nets). Joe has #7 in his player portrait.

                              EDIT:

Also, how come the 2013-14 Brooklyn Nets did not make it as a classic team? That team was stacked!

Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Brook Lopez
Andray Blatche, Andre Kirilenko, Shaun Livingston, Marcus Thornton, Reggie Evans, Mason Plumlee

I'm not here to have a roster **** measuring contest. Everyone has their own ideology and method. This is just to illustrate that there's quite a bit that can/needs doing without worrying about arbitrary cotton candy attributes. If I put in the work, I don't have to make questionable reactionary decisions (see guys, I can be polite) like giving one of the most erratic players in NBA history a 95 Offensive Consistency.

A volume scorer drops 30 on All-NBA defender Carmelo Anthony, then two games later does it again against the combined efforts of "Power" "Forward" Marcus Smart and borderline All-Star Semi Ojeleye. How did this happen?! I guess when I put it like that it's totally fair to completely lose one's mind!

                                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ybauRZ1ELe8" frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

(Literally Power Forward Marcus Smart. That's like the anti-Ben Simmons).

Kyle Kuzma, who has been doing this off the bench all season (read: not one week) is rocking an 85 Offensive Consistency. Try harder, rook. LeBron James, who (like me) has done this for 15 years and (like me) does this in his sleep has an Offensive Consistency rating all of three points higher. I suppose this is totally fair because Beasley received MVP chants from the Garden crowd and LeBron hasn't been MVP in 4 years. Objectively, this all seems far more relevant than his Stockton-esque 1:2 Assist:Turnover ratio (because really, what could Assists or Turnovers EVER have to do with Offense OR Consistency anyway?)

Mr. 95 Consistency dropped 6 points in his next game. Even Kobe had his off-nights. Merry Christmas!
