Bit of a stretch to call him a two way player when his best attribute on offense is his ability to catch the ball and convert on wide open dunks.

He's a great player but he only plays 25 minutes a night for a reason. 87 OVR is near superstar level which is too high for a player like Capela.

They dropped Lowry’s 3pt rating again..yet steph curry who is shooting worse is prolly still a 99 from behind the arc.
Yeah Ibaka's been fantastic and is playing way better than he did coming into this season. How he's only an 79 is beyond me.

Oh wait, he plays for the Raptors.. that explains it

Capela this year is what DaJ was every season he played with CP3.

He is not an 87. He is awesome athletically and defensively but dude has one move offensively - slam it.

Ah yes, what Capela does requires zero ability whatsoever. He doesn't create those wide open opportunities with his length, athleticism, quickness, or positioning. It's a mere ACCIDENT he leads the league in shooting percentage. ANYBODY can average 3 dunks per 24 minutes. Why, IIRC Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman were just as unstoppable in the Pick and Roll! Those guys were AUTOMATIC when they caught the ball near the rim, which is why they averaged double-figures ONCE between them in THIRTY combined seasons (SIXTEEN of which they logged 30+ MPG).

Man, great points, all-around. Unbeatable logic. Capela isn't a two-way player because dudes who average 14 PPG in half a game aren't very effective at offense. You got this one. LOL.

He's a great player but he only plays 25 minutes a night for a reason.
Dennis Rodman averaged 26 MPG with Detroit and played a whopping 29 MPG when he won Defensive Player of the Year. But please, preach to us about MPG as a sure-fire measurement for on-court ability.

87 OVR is near superstar level which is too high for a player like Capela.
87 is All-Star level which is where Capela is clearly at. MVP candidates (I.E. Superstars) are all in the 90s.

        2K Center Ratings
        88 Andre Drummond
        87 Hassan Whiteside
        87 Clint Capela
        86 Al Horford
        86 Rudy Gobert
        85 DeAndre Jordan
        85 Marc Gasol

Woah just check out all those NBA superstars! I guess you're right, 2K must be crazy to put Capela in league with these world beaters.

Has anyone ever suggested any player from their favorite team be downgraded?

Still don't understand the need for that comparison.

Anyway, Rodman has led the league in FG% when he was with Detroit so..

Even more straw man lol. Was just saying 87 is pretty close to a 90

Never knew Drummond was an 88 though, that's pretty outrageous.

Rodman was an acceptable offensive player in his 20s due to his athletic ability. He wasn't the GOAT Rebounder those seasons either, that came later - he didn't lead the league in rebounding until he turned 30.

Next time when I bring up a Hall of Fame Defensive player I'll be sure to specify that I meant his last ten years (the ones we ACTUALLY remember him for) rather than the stuff that literally happened 30 years ago.

                Even more straw man lol.
I don't think you understand what this term means, given your initial statement:

I agree, given that he's a poor man's Clint Capela.

Just don't see how Capela being an 87 with a limited skillset has anything to do with those other big men with very different skillsets.

Looking at Capela's ratings in depth though, he's probably only too high in Shot Close but that's about it

Somebody please explain to me how Capela is like 5 points higher than Steven Adams but does basically nothing better. I'll wait.

I'm going to say it's because the Rockets were got as hell. And he recently had those dunk games I posted before.

I know I know it's not perfect. But he'll come back down. Steven Adams game are similar. But Adams doesn't play in DaToni system.

I have clue if you've played with Capela before. But he wasn't threat before the last 2 updates.

I think Capela will come back down. Don't worry about that lol.

Because Capela has been playing out of his mind this year, he's probably a having a Top 5-7 season, easily Top 10.

Capela is well deserving of an 87, I don't understand the complaint across the thread here, Rashidi is correct in his assessment of him and I usually have a huge difference in opinions with him.

Glad to see a few updated ratings, although this roster update is far from perfect, Oladipo, Jamal Murray, Beasley, Mirotic and Kuzma all deserved their boosts.

Bias time. Nice to see Embiid at 89, Simmons' play of late was deserving a rating decline, Saric is so inconsistent I don't even care what he's rated. Jerrryd Bayless sucks, wouldn't be surprised if he hits 69 this year.
