Possible new badges for 2K19 and beyond?

The badge system in 2K is great, in my opinion, and it can be expanded further with even more badges that we don't currently have in the game.

One badge I'd like to see is for converting four-point plays. A lot of players, when they draw a foul on a three-pointer, are just trying to get a shot up so they can get three FTs. Guys like Curry and Jamal Crawford, though, are better than most at actually getting a makeable shot off as they're being fouled. A badge for that to differentiate could be good.

More potential badges that I've thought about:

A "Rule of Verticality" or "Vertical Contest" badge, to reduce a player's likelihood to foul if he uses the vertical contest. I know that using the vertical contest already does this, but this badge could make it so certain players are better at using it than others.

A badge for remaining composed (i.e., being less likely to lose the ball or pick up your dribble) while being double-teamed.

A badge similar to Limitless Range, but only for shots further than half-court. Then Limitless Range could be solely for shots inside of half-court.

A badge that gives a player the ability to dunk after a Euro Step or a spin gather (or maybe just a higher likelihood of doing so, assuming this mechanic can be worked in to the game).

A "Second Jump" badge which allows a player to get off the floor to get his own offensive rebound quicker than others.

    Thoughts, additions, suggestions?

EDIT: I also realize that the way I worded the thread title, it might seem like I'm trying to make people think that there's some official news regarding badges. I'm sorry to anyone who was misled.

Pro-am is going to be fun when you have guys completing four point plays from beyond halfcourt. Get rid of badges, especially the HOF versions.

Well if 2K is giving 3pt shooters and Mid Range guys contested ratings AND badges

Post guys need some love too(bring back fade ace and its hook equivalent, maybe even the post passing sig skill from 2K14).

Ideally though badges should be for contextual situations that really need it.

Chasedown is one of them as some shot blockers aren't typical halfcourt shot blockers.

I personally think that badges should be scaled back. At least how many are equipped on players. They're good overall, but I just feel like there are too many equipped on players now and it feels both overdone and redundant. I feel like tendencies along with hot zone changes along with 3 or 4 badges could represent the vast majority of the league. I was reading in another thread how guys have disabled them in ML. I did the same and while the sample sizes small the game does have a more organic feel.

That's exactly what I was thinking with the full-court shot badge, honestly.

I also like the idea of post-up badges, to make skilled back-to-basket players really stand out.

It's just overkill. Curry is the best full court shooter ever, but he might hit 1 or 2 in a whole season. When exactly does this badge come into play? You've created a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

As for the double team badge, 2k desperately needs to remove this animation and double teams will work a hell of a lot better.

This is just a terrible animation; I can't stress just how bad it is. No player in history would insist o the 2 handed overhead pass in this instance, it would just be a one handed push to the side. Every time this animation kicks in it's a turnover, because myplayer doesn't have the awareness to not try and bring the ball up through the opponents body. It really adversely affects the gameplay.

And the badge allows people to hit 1-2 every quarter...

Would it be a bad thing if this badge (limitless) was removed, period?

People around here hate badges...... I personal enjoy the heck out of them. But I'm straight up Head to Head guy. If your a "MY" guy you probably hate it and love it at times.

The animation steal on the user. All you need to do is back up in that situation. You need to be contextual aware of where the ball is. Most users just need practice in the area. Especially if you feather it. But I'm going to say most users don't get rid of the ball fast enough. The double animation should have some strength to it. People think you should be able to hold a ball during a double team have no clue about the balancing act a double team provides in a the game. You shouldn't be holding the ball when someone is WIDE OPEN....PERIOD.

I do a bit of both when I get bored with the other. I totally get why badges are necessary, but like my previous post --- would it be really that bad if we didn't have limitless range? (Specifically this badge) Couldn't somebody having a really high 3 point rating (Such as Curry) have the high rating act as the badge itself?

The badge simply allows people to take too many of these shots where it doesn't even feel like there's a drawback to doing so. Yes, you should play them tight the moment they cross halfcourt...but even then do you see real life Warriors dribbling up the court and saying "Oh, you shouldn't have left me open at 27 feet! Time to jack this up with 17 on the clock!"

Most GSW users I played really sucked anyways. But there are those out there who know how to own with it.

When it comes to the other badges though, I do like them. I just think some of them can chill out with the power they have.

I actually would like that. So guys like Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon shoot from distance. Maybe 27 feet at times. But Curry did it for one year. And hasn't been shooting out there since. I think he learned his lesson. And it should be removed for the current Curry and any "MY" modes. The only person I think who should have it is on the 15-16 Warriors. Besides that no one should have it.

hahaha I just post basically the same thing above this post lol. We're on the same page lol

But yes I say remove it from the game. The worst part is Curry doesn't even use it the way some of these users are using it.
