I'm sorry, but not everyone cares to grind for months to get an online avatar to see his maxed potential. I may not be the majority in this conversation, but i am voice in this community and i cant be the only one who feels the mycareer grind, is ridiculous.
Ehh, idk. Having everyone use a 99 with maxed stats, doesnt really give the ability for someone to show that theyre the best of the best.

I think having a cap system and having people pick and choose which stats and attributes to improve, show more of who can be the best.

And being able to buy a 99? Lol

They had to make sharpshooters godly because they can do little else and only having shooters that can shoot round the 3pt line makes them easy to guard. It's the limitless range that makes them a problem. Therein lies the rub; the things that people criticise the archetype for is what makes it as useable as it is.

I agree with your statement by the way, it's just this is what the devs had to do to create the archetype to begin with.

I strongly disagree; it's the only way for players to show they are the best. Dude's could hit near enough 99's in 2k15 and there was a clear difference between the skill levels of different players. No more sharpshooters who've perfected timing a button, no more slashers relying on contact dunk animations - you had to be good at most things to be one of the better park players in 2k15.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

I think it takes more skill to pick and choose which build you want, which stats to raise and max out, which badges you want. Etc.

Give everyone a 99, and virtually no skill is involved

I kind of agree with you both.

I myself would prefer a more balanced mode, and I like the "pick badges/create your own archetype" idea when it comes to online play/pro-am.

But just because you have an all 99 sure as hell doesn't mean you know how to use it. We all know there are some BAAAAAAD players out there who only have a high rating because they put in time. But when they get matched with someone who knows what they're doing, it's a wrap.

If everybody was a 99 then that would also mean everyone's a great defender, it actually doesn't bother me as long as we have an adequate counter when it comes to defense. The only thing I dislike is badges bailing out bad players and poor decisions, but that's a totally different topic.

Nba players even have a sort of 'cap' on their skill sets. Youll never see cousins practice and practice and practice dribbling moves so he can run point like curry.

I do agree with what you’re saying here. However, I also believe that this is a video game where the player should be able to choose the way their mycareer plays. To cater to both ideas, 2K15 allowed for a specific number of stat upgrades. The player could apply the upgrades to whichever skill/stats. Also, if a player doesn’t want to max his players stats out to keep the experience “realistic”, then they can. To be honest, as long as the uncapped myplayer is not able to enter/abuse the online realm of the game, then I believe each myplayer should have the potential to have game-breaking attributes. It should be left up to the user both how good their player will get and their overall gaming experience in all offline arenas.
