2k18 - What can be improved in the graphics department?
Faces still need to be addressed specially for the Legends. Any other aspects you wish were focused on?Tags: None -
Re: 2k18 - What can be improved in the graphics department?
Lighting overall needs to be addressed light doesn't seem to reflect off of the players and gives off a clay look for players skin. And the arena lighting isn't where it needs to be either no where near authentic. -

Some courts are way to dark. The lighting is dull i think.

The lighting by far . Players look like Clay . Lighting is dim . More physics for hair .
Faces and body types are on point .#1 Laker fan

Player models need to be tweaked. Muscle tone, skin textures along with jersey and shorts detail.Comment

I never understood 2ks issue when it comes to lighting they can have good years like2k14, 2k16 and 2k17 but have years like 2k15 and 2k18 where the lighting is glommy and just plain off. Sometimes I wish they would add a brightness/contrast feature in the settings for years like this year when they don't seem to focus on correct lighting.Comment

good point here. And I feel the gameplay was a bit more focused on 15 and 18. Seems like when they focus on one category, something else loses something. 14 was pretty but I thought the presentation and gameplay wasn't as good as it should have been.I never understood 2ks issue when it comes to lighting they can have good years like2k14, 2k16 and 2k17 but have years like 2k15 and 2k18 where the lighting is glommy and just plain off. I would love to see some moments of players running out of bounds and plowing into some fans. Shaq used to do this regularly. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPVThz3QS44Comment

Re: 2k18 - What can be improved in the graphics department?
Players body types, too skinny, unreal, more musculation like 2k16.
Uniforms are baggy.
CAP
More hair types and facial hair like the previous editions(sideburns dissapeared) for myplayer and created players.
Lakers 2009 or 2010.
Updated faces for Legends like Vince Carter and T-Mac, awful.
More retro shoes for Classic players.Last edited by Doc Jota; 02-25-2018, 01:00 PM.Comment

Re: 2k18 - What can be improved in the graphics department?
You guys remember this trailer from over the summer, funny it was voted the best looking 2k ever but here we are with another how can 2k improve graphics thread. I don't think we will see much of an upgrade graphically until the next generation of consoles are released, and even then it will be a gorgeous looking bare bone game similar to how 2k14 was and then we will get more featured filled games while the graphics decline on a yearly basis, which seems to be the same cycle we are in right now.
I will never say graphics are more important then gameplay but as of now 2k isn't really hitting a homerun in either category, but I do feel at the least graphically this game should always look good and polished I shouldn't be able to go back to 2k16 and say damn this looks great compared to 2k18 that's backwards.Comment

Re: 2k18 - What can be improved in the graphics department?
what is still a curious thing, and I think most would agree, 2k14 was the prettiest 2k ever made. And that's over 5 years ago. Players looked better, faces, models, body proportions, courts looked better etc... I just don't understand why it would step backwards year after year in so many departments. It took them 5 years to bring Jordan's likeness back and it's still not as good as it was on the old consoles.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKG8ONbF9kA
