Player progression, Regression & Draft Class

Is it me or does 2k not care or not know how to handle this?

I played M18 MuT all year so NBA 2k took a back seat this year even though I bought it on release.

Been diving into Myleague this summer and can't get player progression, regression, and draft classes to work right.

Good players are still in there prime at age 35-38 like Lebron, Durant, Harden, Curry and there is no new stars even though I am sure there are high 70s and low 80 rookies coming into the league.

I see nobody online has sliders to get this right as I tired everything and read everything on the web.

Does 2k not care or just think they will make the best franchise mode ever but will be lazy and not tune it right?

I suggest editing players potentials and peak start and peak end. When I started my MyLeague, I edited everyone and also edited the progression regression and draft class sliders. If you customize everything, you end up with much better results.

Having superstars at 35+ is because their peak end is too high. Most players have peak ends that are about 2-3 years too high. Sure lebron had the best year of his career, but thats a MASSIVE exception to be getting better at his age.

As far as the regression/progression sliders go, they effect how fast/slow a player drops/gains ratings.

I also highly recommend ignoring the draft quality slider and just using custom drafts from the OS community.

Does that mean the peak start and end of the current players are not in line with the drafted players (whether auto-generated or user-generated)?

Schnaidt1 uses high regression slider (75 I think). Maybe that is some method to encounter this?!

i believe 2k's auto gen drafts have the same peak ranges that the default roster does. Im not 100% sure because I havent used a 2k draft since 2k16 :P

Do you mind explaining potential in relation to peak starts and ends? For example, how is an earlier peak start better than a late peak start?

As far as I understand potential is the maximum overall a player can reach and players will progress up until their peak start and regress after their peak end. Dont quote me on that because the 2k potential system blows.

Do they progress faster with an earlier peak start? I was under the impression a later peak start was better but thats not what the SW crew says.

Re: Player progression, Regression & Draft Class

From my testing a later peak start will grow faster/better. It's basically negligible though up until a peak age is reached.
