I thought I hated 2K17 but 2K18 was worst. I stop playing since around late Jan of this year. I'm not buying 2K19. I'm just gonna focus on Horiza 4 and Red Dead 2

For me, the online defense is some of the worst I've seen in a long time. People online can literally zig zag (move left, right, left, right, left, right) and you cannot user defend it. It's so annoying and it's so effective that some people just straight up use that as their tactic to play.

I saw a video Chris Smoove put out and he complained about the same zig zag BS in 2K18. He said that wasn't really in the game anymore in 2K19 and you can actually user defend ball-handlers. Another friend of mine (Dmanunt) who played 2K19 told me the exact same thing, so I'm really happy with that.

Don't worry, there will be some other issue that pops up that will piss you off just as much. :P

Sorry. I've been doing this a lot of years.

I didn't. Game plays great with proper sliders.

Why did you stop playing NBA 2K18?

              I'm strictly offline.

Sliding, skating, warping. The players are like weightless when moving around or rebounding.
Big headed player models (not all but they exist)
The players look ... I dont know how to describe it. 17 looks more 3D-like whereas 18 is like watching it in a CRT Tv.
I got so used to with the calling plays menu in 17 that I struggled with the menus in 18.
              Triple threat travels.
Too buggy. When I first played after game-launch I wasnt able to call a lot of the plays even though they exist inside the playbook. I think that was fixed eventually.
I just find the player timeline rotation menu got more complex than 17. I can setup 17 faster than 18, no doubt.
Lastly, I have no clue how to adjust the shooting form signatures (thats perhaps i have never play myplayer before). The realistic player shooting form or layup form signature are what the whole game is about.

I was so excited to see a revamped MJ that I started off with the classic bulls. Then I realised I dont have a full 12-man roster. Ok, this is the problem with all the 2K series. So it adds up to why I stop 18.

Re: Why did you stop playing NBA 2K18?

I am strictly offline too & I only play franchise mode with 12minutes quarters.
I think that (technicaly) .Graphics, sound,Animation, motion & all this the game is grate but is stop playing it because the game was very easy vs cpu.Even on highest difficulty & with several adjustments in sliders it was very easy to blowby the defenders & drive to the basket.I could do this almost all the time & after raising sliders very high for cpu def awarnes, help defence etc then even when sometimes they could defend the drive ,they gave me the open shots.Practically the main problem it was the 1 vs 1 non existence D from cpu which lead to drives to the paint or open shots (after the drive & help D) so I end up winning every game (no super team,Bucks) so for me there was no challenge at all, it was boring & monotonous, so I stop playing it & it is sad.I remember many releases back nba2k games were really challenging even on AllStar or Superstar & I could keep plaing until the next release...I hope the devs will ghange this & fix 1 vs 1 D & team D overall for a better game experience for 19

I started downloading mods again it's been awhile and the modders have done a lot since the last time I played months ago. So I'm busy making 2k18 look good. So I started playing again.

Now the ps4 version is a different story. My brothers moved on to other games so I'm going to trade it in soon for the standard edition. I just wish gamers club was still around for best buy.

This, to me, was one of the biggest failures of 2K18. In 2K17, there was a real, measurable speed difference. My 6'11" C might give up a few inches, but his speed and athleticism made it easier to get position to make up the difference. It was a real debate and so when you played park or Pro-Am, you'd see a range of builds.

In 2K18, there was a minimum animation speed, so a 7'3" C was just as fast as a 6'11" C even if the numbers said otherwise. As a result, the only thing you saw in Pro-Am and the park were the 7'3" guys at C. Most positions went to maximum height so 6'10" SF everywhere too.

I really hope 2K19 does a better job balancing height vs speed so we can again see more variety in players.

ai defense - everything about it. it needs fine-tuning, especially on the interior.

I never stopped playing it but I don't really enjoy it as much because it takes forever to upgrade and earn VC.

once of the biggest challenges with PS4 these days is the lack of quality created rosters.

i couldn't stomach the game this year. everything was predictable and felt horribly scripted.

like, when i'd put a shot up, i just knew if it'd miss or not. I knew if i'd get the rebound or not. no matter how good i locked down and played D within a game, the CPU would still score. just a feeling of knowing the outcome before it'd even happened.

mind you the nba is doing itself no favours with the disparity across the league with one super team and everyone else playing for second.
