A couple things on the below from the end of the article/blog.

1- We can create a lineup like the Hampton Five. Can this be done within a roster? If so, will the CPU use it?

2- Erick says he helped work on another area and am I reading into this that he said that after the lineups? Or was that just the end of the blog and a quick note? I am hoping that they worked on the substitution logic. Advanced rotations, deep bench guys subbed in in late blowout games to assure sim stats for the whole team, etc... If bench guys get hot do they (CPU teams) ride them out a bit? I am really hoping this is what Erick was talking about. Regardless wherever he go's and whatever he touches I know it will be well done!


On-The-Fly Lineups

This is a quick and nifty little feature that allows you to set quick lineups for different types of situations (Quickness/Fast players, Best Defenders, Best 3-PT Shooters, Best Free Throw Shooters, A full Bench lineup, Your Tallest Players, and a Custom lineup slot that you can use to make your own On-The-Fly Lineup). These lineups are all easily customized by you, the user, and are very easily accessed in-game by pressing down to activating the On-The-Fly-Coaching (OTFC) feature. I’ve found these to be very helpful and simple to use.

P.S. This is not the last you will hear from me this year. I’ve actually spent a lot of time helping to revitalize another aspect of the game that I am incredibly eager to tell you about (and I will!). Stay tuned and I’ll see you again before the game launches on September 7th!

We had this already on last gen, but they took it out, good that they brought it back.


And I really really hope he talks about Advanced Rotations, when he said he helped work on another area.
This could be an awesome feature, if it works correctly.

The idea of a tourney for the lottery has always been awful, and I will definitely enact it in 2K to just burn everything down. Imagine my Wolves or Grizzlies just miss the playoffs, beat down every other team, you load up an 03 draft, or 98, or 96, or 84 and they can get a Bron, a Kobe or Nash or KG, an AI, a Hakeem or Michael.

For MyLeague and MyGM alone, I'm buying this game.

What I think would be kind of cool and this is obviously hypothetical but if the NBA had the lottery immediately after the season ended. Then the top 4 teams (bottom 4 teams) had like 1 game survive and advance final 4 like for the top 4 picks from the lottery. Maybe you do this for the top 8 teams? This eliminates the Nuggets example as having a shot as they barely missed the playoffs. Then you could feasibly play these games 1 week after the season. The way it's constructed now with lottery a month or 2 after the season it's not even feasible. It would be interesting and avoid tanking and add some drama... Just a thought and fantasy thinking out loud...

Doesn't matter if I don't understand some reference, a lot of people won't either. You're getting ahead yourself. Sure this is great for franchise guys, but there are so many aspects of the game.

Do not pre-order anything, don't be fooled again year after year.

Mannnn as a MyLeague guy I'm loving this. Especially since I just had a kid and dont have time to play every game. I can go into full GM mode and customize everything to my liking

I am already thinking of ideas with the sliders to make it customizeable... Adjust sliders so aging VETS get signed by contenders! I love it

Did I say any other game produces as good as a franchise mode as 2K does... no. What they've done is amazing, but we're talking about pre-orders man. What's much of an amazing franchise mode if the gameplay isn't any good.

I don't know what it is, but a lot of old users on here tend to defend the game way too much. Any criticism is shot down immediately. Year after year people get fooled into pre-ordering, just don't do it. Wait and see how the rest of the game is before deciding.

Man with the CAP sharing and historical draft classes, I really hope they let us edit short length for classic teams/players. It would be such a missed opportunity If we still can’t.

I’d be totally cool if we get ability to edit short length and never get another classic team again. The community will takeover the classic teams.

I've never played MyLeague Online in prior years and didn't see it mentioned in the blog (maybe I missed it though).

Or between different platforms?

I've never been an online player but I have been streaming on Twitch and would love to get into an MLO league with other twitch streamers. Could be so much fun. Imagine having a draft with all the teams live streaming on twitch.......

Yea as great as this all sounds I don't think I'm buying at launch. I put A LOT of time into 2k18 and expect to this year too but there were a lot of problems with CAPs cloning and having 7'5 Point guards and things at launch. I'll likely wait a week or two to see how these new features work and probably give time for the first patch or two to fix some things if need be. If all's good though I'll definitely be buying not too long after launch. Definitely looking forward to what looks like to be a well-worthy experience.

Very small takeaway but looks like maybe we are going back to headshots instead of the action shots? I love that.

Hopefully this means they updated everyone's headshots. No more outdated four year old headshots when we go into a simulated game.

I'm sorry I don't understand the "reference", so if it's just a meme or something that's understandable. You've proved my point regardless, but I'll stop going back and forth. I'm excited for the new franchise features just like you, but surely you can understand some of my constraints.
