The issue with myteam is ratings. Stop giving 3 point shots to players who couldn’t shoot them. Take away 3pt jump shots from every big and 5 out isn’t an issue anymore. Also agree way too many pink diamonds.

Remember in 2k17 when they removed the Dynamic Ratings cards that they had in 2k16 because they “wanted to put more emphasis on the ‘moments’ cards”?

Well 2k procceeded to release 16 cards rated as a 99 overall in 2k17, compared to the mere 5 cards rated as a 99 overall in 2k16.

2k18 really jumped the shark, release a grand total of 53 cards rated as a 99 overall.

I mean what’s the point of this? All 53 of those cards play like exactly the same person? Do we really need a 99 overall Lou Williams and Lonzo Ball and Donovan Mitchell and Ben Simmons and Rudy Gobert and Baron Davis?

Bring back the dynamic ratings cards and stop inflating the ratings to the heavens. It’s become absolutely atrocious.

My team is all about being an arcade game. It has nothing to do with simulation.
It makes sense for the kids, who want to compete with as many 99 overall players as possible.
Simulation gamers really don't play this mode. it is disposable.

Well to be honest it's because of what it's become that so many of us don't play it. I used to play MyTeam a significant amount especially when they had leader-boards. Now its become such a joke with 90+ ovr role players that people who know basketball cant stomach it.


I truly want to see MyTeam mode succeed but making it a pay 2 win clown show isn't the path to take... They need to give the sim community an option for MyTeam as well... The mode has too much potential to squander it on balloon animals and cotton candy for kids...

MyTeam 2k13 was the best by far. It was difficult to pull the best players but that's how it should be. There are way too many colors now, and they're adding a new one next year too apparently. 99 ben simmons is ridiculous where he has an 80+ 3ball. What a joke.

Domination mode is also weak as hell. You HAVE to cheese in order to get enough VC in the advanced stages, forget about running plays and postups.

Back when people were trying hard to figure out which days and times were the best to open packs and still had trouble getting top level pulls... Back when we had a thread where people would post the minute they got a great pull... Those were the days...

2K13? Bro in that game you could literally do the VC glitch for a few hours and buy the best players straight up for only 20k VC.

I think 16 was the best imo. 17 was great too. 18 was trash.

I was talking historic players, sure you could buy bron, kobe, dwight all those current players but you had to get lucky to pull AI, Magic, Wilt, Shaq, all the greatest players.

Ben Simmons can barely shoot. He got his *** kicked by the Celtics last year.
He should stay an 80 untill he proves he can score from outside.

My main issue this yr is everyone having 100 dunk tendencies. We all complained that guys like Rex and Shareef had 90+ dunk ratings yet couldnt dunk in game because of tendencies. The rest is history.

The mode is LITERALLY billed as fantasy mode and has been for years. The first screen in the trailer says "2K's FANTASYcard collector is back."

I mean I was under the assumption that "fantasy" meant like teams that arent real, like how you build "fantasy" teams of the best players in "fantasy basketball leagues". To me, it had nothing to do with gameplay.

Yeah that's exactly what it was always billed as... Now somehow it has morphed into something else... Its gotten to be completely asinine... You have players KNOWN for not having a jump-shot magically having 80+ 3pt ratings where you might as well not even have their name on the back of the jersey...

It's like they aren't even trying to hide how arcadey it is. I don't need 7 versions of the same player, it's ridiculous. If a player is good make it a diamond, if it's a great player with a moments card give him a pink diamond. Anything else is just stupid and overkill. Louis Williams should never be a 99.

Wasn't their a year they said ratings are based off a HoF scale so only Dennis Rodman would have a 99 for rebounds. They couldn't even stick with that model very long.

Nowadays it's all about releasing lit content where guys have 20 HoF badges, 80+ 3ball, dunking and speed boost.

I still hate that myteam blog. Didn't discuss whether we have to use contracts on challenges, matchmaking and difficulty settings. I can already assume it'll be pro-allstar settings so I'm out again this year.
