NBA 2K19 Shot timing tips thread

So I have been playing 2k for awhile and when I typically shoot the ball, I wait for the ball to come closest to the head before I release.

I dont get too many perfect releases this year. They are majority late so I am thinking it is time for me to find another method to get pefect releases.

What ques do you guys look at with a player when he shooting to get a perfect release?

Also, does anyone truly use the shot meter for timing?

Re: NBA 2K19 Shot timing tips thread

I try to use it every year and am terrible at it. I gave it a try or two last year before going to real player %.

I used it on the prelude this year and everytime it looked like I released the shot right at the top of the meter but it would say it was a late release. I'm just going to keep practicing and truly give it a shot this year. Guess I'll start by releasing a tad bit sooner

Like the 3 above said: Turn off the meter!

Though I have to admit, I don't get that many perfect release. My Shot percentage is still in the top 5 in our online league...

You have to release the shot a little bit before the bar gets filled. If you try to release it at the same time it hits the top then you’ll get a late release.

I forgot about these tips last year. I'll have to turn it off and focus more on the players actual release

Is it more about the highest point of the players jump? Or what's a good way to time it with the meter turned off?

Come on, guys. Telling someone to only turn off the meter is not a good tip.

I usually divide my players into three categories based on their shooting speed. I basically learned which players are what and go from there. You can tell the difference between a quick, medium, and a slow as molasses release.

If you need a point of reference on 2K18....

From the All-Time Pacers, Paul George has medium release, Danny Granger has a quick release, and Chuck Person has a slow release.

Everyone’s shot is different. Don’t know why people are saying to turn off the meter I say practice only looking at the meter til you get a good idea when to release. Then you can turn off the meter.

I need to get my hands on more players to get a feel. Especially with Mike saying Late/Early penalties will increase when the game drops. Shot release points feel quicker across the board.
