Is your issue that the grind is slow or that people have the option to bypass a portion of the grind? So if the grind was easier, would you still care if I can go to an 85 day one?

I mean you do have options,

    Go to NBA live.......
Dont play til you get to a rating where you feel like you can compete........

Some people think paying 60 for a game is too much. So they wait til the game is cheaper to buy it. I choose to buy this game early and put money in a game I play throughout the year. Is it fair that I get a 4 day head start on some people because Im willing to pay more?

Another real life example, is that took my fam to Universal Studios and paid extra for front of the line access. My family and I were able to get on rides 2-3 times before someone in the regular line could get on once. Fair? Some say yes because I paid extra, although it made some other people wait longer. But they had the option to do front if the line access as well but chose not to.

And believe me, Im no rich lazy person. The grind at 85 and up is no picnic. I choose to put $100-$200 in this game, as opposed to buying 2-4 games for the same price. Thats my threshold and thats what I decide to do. If the game was $400, I wouldnt do it because thats out my threshold and what Im willing to pay for MY experience. But everyone is different

At the end of the day like I said in a previous post, we can agree the grind last year was unbearable and should be fixed. But we disagree whos the blame for it is.

But hey......Its 2K day now and everyone has access now for people who is willing to pay at least 60 for it. But the person who is not willing to pay 60, but 40, is in the smae position now that you were in because they have to wait for a sale to get it. Get it?

So if you have an issue, take it up with 2K, not the customers. 2k hears the feedback and acts on it better than most sports gaming companies IMO. Because you'll never satisfy every buyer, as everyone has a different threshold.

    Happy 2K Day!!!!
Really want to get this 2k19, have gotten it since the first dreamcast version, but this screams pay to win for me.

Star Wars Battlefront II and Shadow of War got HUGE flak for making the game extremely grindy to promote the shortcuts and "pay to win mechanics."

I'm like you, I dont have that much time, but I can support the exploitation.

Both consumer and business are to blame, but more on consumer. If the consumer didnt raise a huge fuss with Battlefront II, things wouldnt have changed.

Hell, early access with 2k used to be just pre-ordering the regular version. Now its 100 bucks? Plus it's still not enough to get to 85 overall?

    That's just greed.

People can spend their money as they wish. Too bad it does affect everyone else who doesn't though. I likely will miss out on this year's game and be stuck with an inferior Live... at least their version of my player isn't designed around pay to win mechanics...it doesn't exist.

Your universal studios example isnt quite correct. It only applies to 4 day early access....not the 85 overall. You got to go on a ride faster than others (early access), but it's the same ride that others will experience. Being 85 overall day one is a different ride than being 60 overall day one.

This thread is actually none sense on the first place i wonder why it made this long. you really dont need to justify yourself, and at the end of the whole conversation, you will just say i dont want to loose all the time. how simple was that?

No, it's not, because nobody likes to have a ****ty MyPlayer, including you, no matter if it's career, park or pro-am.

Once that 2k decided to give the option, people who can spend time for improving their player, will spend time; people who can spend money for improving their player, will spend money.

My issue is both. The grind is only excessively long to sell VC, and they are only trying to sell VC because people bought it in the first place because they realized it was turning a profit and therefore it was viable to sell it.

Yes! so that is the point of the whole thread and this is what im trying to address....but regarding about me having a "S" player. i could careless as i play only offline games. im just sick of this kind of online thread flooding this forums.

FYI if i loose a game im not going to die and cry to worry about this type of ish. its a game you are bound to win and to loose some. you are not supposed to be perfect there is a learning curve.

Honestly if you are strictly offline I don't understand why you even bother about this thread, because all the VC s* shouldn't affect your experience with the game at all.

what's really bugging me is the fact, that with vc and how they promote it, 2k actually questions my intellectual capability. when i realize how they've built mycareer around vc, i absolutely wonder, who would be stupid enough to NOT see through their blatant scheme and who could be so naive to fall for it. it couldn't be clearer that it solely for money grabbing.

and then i go online and see threads like this one with its completely useless comparisons (skipping the queue in a theme park? really?)...

People with money don't like being called stupid for buying VC and people who can't afford VC don't like that others have the money to skip the grind is why. It's just jealousy is all.

Jealousy? What a ridiculous blanket statement.

I wont accuse anyone of being stupid by taking a paid shortcut, its their money. Their finances are their own.

I dont like it because the business model is affecting the experience of other players, such as myself, because the developers modeled their game in order to promote paying. They made the game excessively grindy and that affects everyone else.

I can afford the cost just fine, I just dont agree with paying it. It's not jealousy, it's annoyance.
