Re: NBA 2K19 Jerseys & Courts Creations
Im not great with creating logos myself either, and tbh, most of the logos you see here ARE created by professionals. But for my rebrands and getting the logos and images looking good in 2K, I use GIMP too. Just take some time to learn and get used to it, and I promise you'll get better at it. I included one of my first NBA concepts (Knicks) where i took a template and just added colors and logos, and my most recent mockup (Lakers) where I modified the entire template as well as adding colors, logos, designs, etc., as examples. These two are about a year's difference.
I think my biggest fault at gimp is, Making the logo come through clear to begin with... like one i crop something and then magnify the size to edit it, the lines and logo come back blurry and it’s not really clear. Idk if that makes sense... I’ve been using photoshop on my phone. I can try posting a picture to show you what i mean.
And then just cleaning up lines in general with unwanted colors
Here’s what i mean though. I wanted to use this “Dallas” word art for jersey front. So cut it out and made it transparent. Once i did that... see how blurry the image/lines come out looking(despite white on the words, before cleaning it up)

At that point, you should have the Dallas wordmark on a transparent background. At that point, select the entire wordmark (select by color at full bar threshold>click on the wordmark) and click on it with the scale tool. Once you have that popup, remember the number value for width. Then, select the entire image (select>all) and copy it. Once that is done, clear the image, resize the image 1:1 matching the width of the wordmark you found earlier, select the entire area again, and paste the wordmark onto the resized blank image. At this point the width of the wordmark should be the same width as the entire image area, while the image area size should be 1:1 with a transparent background. If you have that, youre good to upload to the site.
Sorry if its confusing.

Re: NBA 2K19 Jerseys & Courts Creations
I had that problem myself at first. Truthfully, GIMP isnt that great at resizing images, but a "workaround" is to change Cubic to Sinc when resizing, its under quality. But with that image, color everything not wanted white, just brush over it, and then use the select color tool, click on a white area in the image, and then press clear (under edit). Make sure the layer is transparent, of course.

Let me paraphrase you real quick to make sure i understand correctly.
Click quality tab and change to sinc.
Everything i want cropped out, i brush over with white and select it through the color, then clear that to the image i want is left (so jersey concept script for example)
And then basically from there it’s just resizing it to fit 2k 1024x1024
Sounds simple.Comment

You have to have a large image. If you try to magnify a smaller one of smears because the resolution is not as highComment

Re: NBA 2K19 Jerseys & Courts Creations
I rented 2K19 from Redbox, and in the couple days I had it, I made two teams.
First is the Memphis Express rebrand of the Grizzlies. For those that don't know, when the team moved from Vancouver, FedEx tried to buy the naming rights to the team and leave the Grizzlies name with Vancouver in case their team ever returned. The NBA denied the deal because they didn't want to get into corporate sponsorships (oh, how times have changed!) but this rebrand explores what this team could've looked like (and serves as a rebrand for Memphis if you bring Vancouver's Grizzlies back). The logo features the arrow negative space from the FedEx logo and the Memphis skyline. The colors feature the FedEx primary colors and the team is sponsored by FedEx as well.
Spoiler
The West Virginia Shiners are a fictional expansion team based in northern West Virginia. The logo features a mason jar with a banner over top. The colors are black and white, the only colors visible at night, when moonshiners are at work. The team is sponsored by West Virginia University Medicine and play at the fictional arena also sponsored by WVU Medicine.
