Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread

Does anyone have a link to a YouTube video or a guide regarding salary cap or free agency?? I’m either very confused or 2K doesn’t do a great job explaining how it works. 2K made me offer a certain amount to a certain player and when I make an offer to another player it doesn’t show how much cap I have left. I’ve had times where a player agreed to my offer, but I didn’t have enough cap space. Why would the game even let me make that offer if I didn’t have enough in the first place?

Is there a way I can see how much cap space I have available during the moratorium or free agency phase? I feel like I’m blindly offering random amounts to players.

The salary cap table shows how much cap space you have. You also have to take into account the qualifying offers and whatever is being paid out to players formerly on your team (grayed out at the bottom of the salary cap table). If you make multiple offers in one day, it would update how much $ you have to play with because the game thinks you haven't used it yet. That's how you can end up offering someone and then no longer have money to sign them. Other times, you may have to renounce the rights to players with qualifying offers so that you can sign a player you'd normally run into that issue with, as they are cap holds otherwise.

Decided to do a start-in-offseason for the Sixers as I want to put together a team that can legitimately compete with the Warriors for a title right now as well as in the future. I made a blockbuster trade at the draft for Porzingizis (and Courtney Lee) in exchange for Fultz, Covington, Saric, Bayless, the 10th pick, and a 2020 unprotected 1st round pick. (I'm assuming that KP still wanted out of NY) In free agency, my main priorities were signing LeBron and Redick and then then going after shooters and defensive players. This is what my rotation is shaping up to look like:

PG: Ben Simmons, Yogi Ferrell
SG: J.J. Redick, Courtney Lee
SF: LeBron James, Dante Cunningham
PF: Kristaps Porzingis, Nemanja Bjelica
C: Joel Embiid

Turns out we may be looking heavily into Elton Brand as we have gotten off to a rough start at 0-4. The chemistry just hasnt been there and its effected our games. Klay justvhad his breakout game scoring 37pts.

Its funny as the storyline here is I controlled Golden State most of season last year and he was leading scorer so when I took over Seattle he came too. Klay also hit 10 threes in the game setting the early team record pretty hi.

The mock draft has us taking Baron Davis. Whom I love but I have a need at a big and would like to take Brand. I also have an I on Lamar Odom.

Baltimore on the other hand is projected to take high school prospect Johnathan Bender. The Monsters are 1-3 with their lone win coming over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Monsters are being led by De’Anthony Melton who is posting 18.5 ppg.

These two teams will not cross paths yet this season but this is a rivalry in the making.

This was not a successful season by any means. Wound up going 3-12. We would have the third beat odds in the NBA draft.

Golden State lost KD to Indiana in the offseason, I got Klay, and Steph tore his ACL leaving Draymond alone to fend the fort as they fell to a bottom five finish.

Nikola Jokic won the league MVP, and Zion won the ROY. Houston won its second consecutive NBA title with Harden winning Finals MVP. The Knicks hit the lotto this time around. However, with this draft beinf the 1999 draft the Knicks went in a different direction and drafted Corey Maggette.

We (Sonics) had targeted a Center or PF the entire way but when Odom, and Brand were drafted we opted to go Baron Davis over Steve Francis.

In the offseason I think we had success with our core being

I. Zubac
D. Favors
K. Middleton
K. Thompson
K. Walker
6th Man - B. Davis

I have some developing young bucks in Bennie Boatwright (PF/C) Charles Mathews (G) Jarrett Culver (G) Carsen Edwards (G)

Heading into this upcoming season we have high expectations as we should have the chemistry we lacked last season.

The upcoming draft is the 1992 draft which is the Shaq and Zo draft. I dont mind a lottery season if Shaq is the reward.

Here's a video I did on the basics of the salary cap and luxury tax. In MyLeague and MyGm, you'll want to look in the front office at the salary cap table.

During the offseason, certain amounts will show up as cap holds on your salary cap table and the also in parenthesis next to the team salary total on that page.

Hey everyone,

I have been following the operation sports community for awhile now, but just recently decided to make an account to get involved. I have been using JB's and Bigdougswan's fictional draft classes for awhile and it inspired me to make my own. If you guys haven't check out their classes, you definitely need to go do that.

The classes I have made are very similar to theirs in the sense that they will have studs, busts, solid role players, guys who never live up to their potential, etc. I understand how peak age creates all of these, so no need to worry about having guys into their late 30's performing at an All-Star level like the default 2k rosters do.

I have attached a scouting report for my classes. It provides some scouting, some back story. I did not want to only do scouting and take away from the in-season scouting you will do. The scouting reports are in the same format JB uses in his classes.

Please let me know how you think the classes are. I am open to all criticism because I am just trying to make the game more enjoyable for everyone else. Let me know if I need to tweak anything at all or if you found something weird. Lastly, I would love to hear about how these guys are doing in your MyLeague, so once you use them, let me know!

Finally starting a MyLeague, but im having difficulty choosing the starting point. Im using the SimWorld project, so should I follow the chronology and take the time to get all of the W-L records correct, or do I just start from Opening Night and make 2018-19 my own?

If you have more fun playing the games, start in 2018-19 and go your own path. If you like building the roster, then just get to the off-season.

I'm also using his project, I decided to start from the 18/19 season following his chronology and using all 30 teams but I use one to play my games (jazz)
I am one who likes to play and with this project you can enjoy the game for a while, also thanks to the guys at SimWorld with their classes of drafts, also because I don't think they will do 2k20 and going back will be hard

So the announcer messes up players name for the ring ceremony during opening night >__< someone needs to fire him..
At least he knew who Kevin Durant was.. /shrugs

Did a start in offseason for the Bucks and tried to sort of recreate what they did in real life by acquiring a bunch of shooters to put around Giannis. Traded Thon Maker for Bojan Bogdanovic from the Pacers in a 3 team deal. Signed Brook Lopez again, as well as Darren Collison, Trevor Ariza, Seth Curry, and Nerlens Noel for the MLE to get a backup center and some defense. Really liking how this team is shaping up and how well rounded it is. Here's my depth chart:

PG - Eric Bledsoe, Darren Collison, Shelvin Mack
SG - Malcolm Brogdon, Seth Curry, Zhaire Smith
SF - Khris Middleton, Bojan Bogdanovic, Trevor Ariza
PF - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Tolliver, Luke Kornet (2-way)
C - Brook Lopez, Nerlens Noel, Brandan Wright

Yeah man, I think Bogdanovic just fits perfectly with them. Even though I like Mirotic on the Bucks in real life, I still wanted to get someone with size who could shoot, but also be able to create more off the dribble. Gives us another go-to scoring option off the bench that can easily get hot at any time.

Starting a MyLeague with Milwaukee. Starting on Opening Night, using the SimWorld project. Only difference is I added more injuries to match up with the injury report at the start of the season, so guys like Westbrook, Dwight Howard, Maker, and DJ Wilson start the season injured.
