Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread
I changed up my team a lot in the offseason! it was really hard to do but something had to give after 4 years in a row #1 seed and just could not win the championship and my teams getting up there in age. the toughest move, and the one that set the rebuild in motion, was trading my beloved fan favorite player 87 OVR Donovan Mitchell, who has been with the team since the fantasy draft that started it all, 10 seasons ago. Hes now 31, had a down season, and only 1 year left on his deal. I packaged him and my expensive starting 88 OVR PF who is 32 years old to the Knicks (who were the #2 seed last year) for a batch of young up and coming players and 2 first rounders.
This freed up about $50M of my cap space and allowed me enough room to sign a replacement guard, who I've had my eyes on since he came into the league on one of the first draft classes. He is the best play maker in the whole NBA, 99 in all the passing ratings, hall of fame passing badges, and even bonus pick pocket badge. Not a good shooter. 86 Overall. He is the same age as Mitchell but his game translates much better to my offense, as my MVP shooting guard now has an elite passer to play next to, rather then having to share the ball with Mitchell. I also picked up an 80 PF with the MLE.
In addition I decided not to resign my coach Fred Hoidberg, despite having an incredible W-L record with my team, and winning 1 championship, it just felt like it was the time to move on cause my team can not get over the hump. I promoted assistant coach Dwight Howard to the head coach and signed Boogie Cousins as assistant coach. To be honest I don't know how coaches effect the game at all when you are playing CPU vs CPU, does anyone know? I just picked former players cause I thought it would be cool.
Last years starting line up
93 PG/SG MVP
87 SG/PG
85 SF/PF
88 PF
86 C
This years starting lineup
86 PG (the guy I signed)
92 PG/SG (MVP)
82 SF (came off the bench last year)
85 PF/SF (started at SF last year)
86 C (same guy)
the bench is weaker but still has some good players, and is now much younger. I also have 3 total first rounders in next years draft, and 2 the following year. I expected a decent year and after starting 2-3 and looking pretty awful, the team has won 11 games in a row. the team chemistry has gone up from 0% to about 50% already. everything seems to be clicking, and the team is playing well together much faster then anticipated. and I think I made the right decision with Mitchell, who went down -3 OVR in the offseason. its still early, but so far this feels like a huge success! I have way more money, draft picks, my team is way younger, and I'm still winning a ton of games!Last edited by BleedGreen710; 07-22-2019, 07:46 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread
Seems like the coach might have some impact then. I’d think more of an impact if it’s a MyGM vs a MyLeague would be but not sure.

How were able to promote your assistant coach? Just fire & re-hire at a different position? My Dynasties

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread
Another off season video that might help people who need a better understanding of qualifying offers and the difference between unrestricted and restricted free agents.
Hope it helps.

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread
So for example, I had a two way contract player on my team and had him in the gleague all year. He never played a day in the nba. At the end of the season, he still showed up as a restricted free agent because he was on my roster at the end of the year and I could make him a qualifying offer.
I'll have to do some more testing but I believe that is how it works at the moment.
Also, just an FYI that I'm pretty sure your rookies on 4 year deals where you exercise their team options and at the end of their fourth year will show up properly as restricted free agents.
Other guys, I'm not as confident that it will be 100 percent accurate. I'll have to dig deeper. I plan on making a video about the two way contracts and the gleague at some point. For MyNBA, MyLeague & MyGM content, follow Coach2K on X by clicking here.

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread
Thanks for the response. I would like a video about the gleague cause I'm not entirely sure how it works. all I know is if I put my player there his overall rating seems to go up really quickly. sometimes up 10+ points in one season. but sometimes players get angry when you put them there.
my team is 20-11 so far, team chemistry has sky rocketed up to 81% already. this team has gelled quicker then I've ever seen before. looks like I'm gonna be competing for the 1 seed again. I really thought this team would take a step back this season after getting rid of 2 starters but so far looks like maybe I made the team better.Last edited by BleedGreen710; 07-25-2019, 06:08 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread
Here's another video this time on the offseason rule changes and how they work both in MyLeague and MyGM.
Hope it helps.

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread
My team was 31-12 and battling for first place and building a great chemistry. Then right before the trade deadline a brutal 5 game losing streak against the teams I'm competing with in the east. Despite the great record I felt like my team was not on their level both on paper and on the court.
As I mentioned before with the new 2k coming soon I'm in win now mode to try and win a championship before I start a new myleague. I pulled off this huge trade to acquire Jayson Tatum. Gave up my starting PF and 6th man and 3 first rounders to get him from a tanking Cleveland team who doesnt wanna pay him 40m a year anymore (hes 31 years old now).
Powell and Clancy had been with my team for 7 years each and will be greatly missed. Clancy will go down as one of my favorite fictional athletes ever. He shoots 1 handed and has 99 3 pointer and hall of fame limitless range badge, he also likes to dunk. He played a huge roll in my one and only championship in 2024 and has over 10,000 points scored.
Tatum will start at SF, pushing my 82 SF to the bench and promoting my 82 PF to a starter to replace Powell. I now have a big 3 of 86 PG 92 SG 91 SF and also a 87 C. Cant wait to see how this plays out! If I do survive the east playoffs I'll have to defeat one of the super teams out west which will be a tall task. The Spurs are the most loaded team I've seen in 10 years. Their lineup is 97 PG, 87 SG, 93 SF, 88 PF, 83 C, and an 87 off the bench. And then you have the Suns who have won 4 of the last 6 championships.
