Once I realized what he was doing, I was able to keep on top of him in the post and get a solid contest. Granted, he may not have had a maxed out post game or badges, I'm not sure. But my player was only a 71 OVR.

The funny part was that I went in with an 0-2 record, and my teammate was 0-12. The guys we played against had played ~100 games between the two (they joined on the "Squad Up spots), and were over .500. I saw pretty quickly why my teammate was 0-12 (sharpshooting SG who went 0-6 from three in spite of his 83 OVR), and he kept getting reaching fouls.

His man was knocking down leaners and long threes because he didn't know how to play defense, so I figured we were going to lose. Then he quit, and I got an AI teammate. I played patiently in the post and scored about half the points, and fed my AI teammate when he got open. My defender left me open beyond the arc a lot, but I only took one shot from three, which I missed (my 3PT rating is only a 61 at the moment).

Proper switches when they tried to screen the AI player to get an open shot pretty much stopped their shooter, and we came back and won. It was actually fun to have a post battle with another human. Both of us were playing the post up game; it wasn't a three-fest.
Good to hear that these games still exist, I stopped playing park for now because its such a boring halfcourt zigzag screening 3pt shootout.

What i meant with hopstep fades being op is not the move itself but the distance at which these shots still fall at a high %. Fades in general should see a heavy dropoff in their success rate with more distance. But in 2k this does not seem to be the case...

Ah, that makes sense. Admittedly, I have a low sample size, since I don't really play park games much. And in my own career, I generally don't try fades from that far away. But I am really enjoying the post game with my PF.

The post has been crazy fun for me lately now that I got my badges and know how to avoid turnovers .

Use the "long athlete" layup package, it's best for the hop steps. The dominant big layup package doesn't have those giant hop steps as much.

Yeah Good looking out . I’m currently on the dominant big. Have to try that 1 .

Anyone else notice on shimmy hooks it's always late? I even let go of it early and the bar kept going up?!

Does anybody know how to do the clear out space/elbow/push off animation in the post?

Guys do you have any suggestions for post moves that can draw fouls vs the AI in myleague games? I know fouls in general are pretty low, but I have the sliders all jacked up to over 90 and still with Embiid I average around 2-3 fouls if that.

Up and Under? That's really the only post move that seems to get a foul I think.

I really think that their trying to make the post involve a skill gap now, but it just doenst work, especially from a offline sim aspect, the post was more consistent and sim back in even 2k12 and 2k13, but now their making this skill gap come into effect for online play, but it doesnt translate well to offline, the computer just stands there on 90% of the moves without even blinking, its rare to fake a cpu defender into the air. The most effective moves are also the ones that create an enormous amount of space, which doesnt look realistic all the time, especially in a 5v5 setting, i do a fade to the middle from under in the paint with certain players, and i end the shot almost to the top of the key.

On the contrary, I have some success in faking the cpu using the shoulder shimmy fakes.

Buy it. Equip it. Do layups
