Is there a way to stop the 55-65% shooting percentage in this? That's kind of why I stopped before.

I play on HoF just to progress faster. But CPU FG% is ridiculous. Any mishaps on defense and the CPU won't miss. Even make difficult shots at a high clip.
Once I get my badges to where I like and I have enough skill upgrades available to get to 90 OVR(at 78, not buying VC), I will bump difficulty down to Superstar. I don't want it easy, but I don't want CPU making almost every shot and my player needing near perfect timing to make shots

As a shooting guard, playing defense is probably the most annoying of any other position.

I can't conserve stamina because I have to spend every single defensive possession running around, through, over and under screens, and as a pure shot creator I don't have pick dodger so if I'm stuck, I'm stuck, and I'm screwed.

On top of that, bums like Malik Monk go off and hit contested layups over me which is demoralizing.

I just came back from down 0-3 against the Hornets in the 1st round. I was the 1 seeded Raptors. It was the most painstaking thing ever.

MyPlayer NBA plays terribly in general, although I did find some improvements when I turned auto play calling on (as a non PG player) - it seemed to bring a bit more order to my CPU teammates offense. Defense however is without hope - the CPU will hit 90% of open shots and at least 50% of all else.

The mode is clearly engineered to give people who use the NBA games to mine for VC a bit of a challenge, so the final few minutes are close and prone to last second game winning shots, at the expense of any sense of realism.

I noticed that. As a PF, I get a lot of perimeter one on ones. Thats why I went undersized just to be more athletic. But I until my athleticism fully gets maxed, I do feel overmatched. Especially against athletic 4s. Just got Silver Pick Dodger and that really helps. But at times I feel like I'm stuck in an animation or purposely put out of postion and give up easy baskets.
I have Stamina at 80. I run through stamina quick and that is with Stamina boosts. Most of that is on Defense. I get no playcalls on offense so I rarely even use turbo. But I drain stamina on defense.

What hurts is the switch system. In a way, I really like it on offense. You can easily get a mismatch when you switch. As a big, I will set a pick before the play is even ran when I know I have a slower big on defense just to give my PG a mismatch. But on defense, the issue I see is Team AI not switching when they're suppose to. They'll tell me to switch and then stay with their man and I give up a easy basket or they don't fully commit to switch and they get out of position.

My career for years has engineered for players who play hero ball and score 40 plus. I don't want to spend extra money just so I can play better. Just wish there was better gameplay in My Career NBA.

              Re: Official MyPlayer/MyCareer Thread

19 games into my career with my PF, I am at 78 OVR. Last 12 games I have been averaging 12 points, 7 rebs, and 2.2 blocks. My rebounding has been so up and down. I have hustle rebounder maxed at Silver and I did upgrade rebounding a little, but I can't consistently rebound. Might have to focus on Vertical because I do feel sluggish when I jump. But i feel the main reason is the high CPU FG percentage. They dont miss easy shots, so rebounds are scarce. But my blocking has been consistently good. I do have Rim Protector at Silver. But only got block at 70. I am good with timing blocks. I get no playcalls on offense and Harden does have a 99 Shot tendency, so I have to do alot of off ball movement to score. One thing I'm surprised about with Rockets, is that I don't get many 3pt looks. I may only get 1-4 attempts per game.
I have 18 of 25 badges. Recently got Deep Range Deadeye, Silver Pick Dodger,Posterizer, and Lob City Finisher. Of the remaining 7 badges, only 3 I care about. Which are Chasedown Block, Limitless Range, and Mid Range Deadye. It should only take one set of pratices to get Chase Down. I dont really take Limitless shots, but it wouldn't hurt with my build. But I will did Mid Range Deadeye last. I don't even have a single point towards that badge. I barely upgraded that skill. In this offense I barely even get looks. I probably only have 2-4 makes from Mid Range. After those three. I will look to max out badges. I'm probably 2-4 Cap Breakers from being able to get to 90 OVR. Im at 78 and not buying VC. But once I have enough cap upgrades available, I'm bumping down difficulty.
Got Chasedown and tireless scorer. Tried one time in practice for Limitless Range. Yeah no thank you. If I get that badge it'll be in game. I don't even take deep threes anyway. Tried Tear Dropper. No on that one too. I will focus on getting defensive stopper to Gold, I'm 10K points away. Should get it in 3-4 games. After that. I pretty much got all the badges. So I'll be playing my rookie season just to get OVR to 90 and work on maxing badges

In "My" Career, the Pistons run a 4-Out with the 5 at the Free-Throw stripe (chin).

I have the same build as you but at 6'10. I'm using Superstar Difficulty and from experience I can recommend you play in their system. They were using me consistently at the 3 until they traded Griffin for DeAndre Jordan [emoji848][emoji849]

I'm now at the 4 and we still run the 4-Out. Bots should tend to leave you open if your not a threat shooting from Mid or 3. Outside of the spot-up, the bots for the Pistons seem to work well with screens.. I spam the hell out of brick walls lol

Give it some consideration and good luck!

                  Will definitely give it consideration.
Changing playbook and assigned playcalls made My career so much more enjoyable last year.
I didn't get to enjoy it much since I stopped playing because of dashboard issue and I started playing so late. This year I should be able to use it.
My idea situation is to sign with Charlotte and trade for Corey Harris, Marcus Young, and a Center. And pick a playbook and adjust plays that fit all of us

Is it just me or is everything just handed to you this year? I feel like I don’t have to work for anything. It’s so boring everything is handed to you. More Minutes with 0 productivity? You earned it. Rookie All-Star? You got it. RoTY? Yup.

Only thing you have to work for is a shoe contract 🤦🏻*♂️

If that’s the case then try going back and playing 2k18 and you’ll see why they choose to make things a lot easier. 2k18 is by far the worst in terms of earnings, my career and park. Plus, who really has time to sit there and grind all the way to 99? If you’re an adult like me with a full time job, bills and other stuff I’m obligated to, then yeah, I’m very happy it’s easier this year bc last year I didn’t even make it to 87 and I played an entire season and I bought VC lol... think about it this way, would u rather play a game that by the time you’ve unlocked everything, most people have stopped playing the game bc the new one is right around the corner lol.. I’m not assuming here but is this your first time playing the new gen 2k bc on ps3 and earlier new gen 2ks like 14-16, the rep method and all that was way different. Last gen it literally would cost you $20 to get to 97 overall. When the new gen consoles dropped it was a bit more but you could put your attributes wherever u wanted rather than 2k choose them for you. Sneaker endorsements literally came after 5-10 games so if you ask me I’d rather it be the way it is now, easy access than to have to sit and grind to 99 bc realistically anyone that has a life really has no time to do that

I do like that it isn't as tedious as 2k18. I waited until ASW to start and had over 90K VC saved up using MyNBA2k app. So I started around 77 OVR. It took me over 2 months to unlock enough cap upgrades to get to 90 OVR. Then I stopped playing shortly after. This year in under 2 weeks(not playing every day.), I will have enough cap upgrades to get to 89 OVR after my next game. I just got to 79 OVR. So I know it will probably be another 1-2 cap breakers to get to 90. It is alot faster than last year especially on HoF. After 23 games or so, I already have 19-20 badges and around half are either maxed or close to it. Last year it took 50-60 games to get Gold Defensive stopper. This year it might take about 3-4 more games to get it to Gold

I didn't mind having to grind. But as someone who works and life, I don't have time to spend months grinding for something I may not be able to enjoy. So it being a little easier does help. Yes I didn't like the unrealistic jump in minutes. I struggled big time nearly in season. I didn't feel like I should get more minutes let alone start.

Earning VC isn't that difficult and it's better than recent years for sure. I just hate how long it takes to move your progress bar but I guess it gives you something to work towards.

Im on the raptors, got all the way to the finals on Hall of Fame difficulty, win the first two games on the road and then my teammates decided to play like complete idiots. It came down to a game 7. Not wanting to have come all this way for nothing, I said screw it and dropped it down to Pro and won the series. I think from now on I'm going to play on All Star. Screw it.

I did that 2 days in a row. Yesterday all you had to do was get 2 double doubles in a park, my career, pro am or cages game. The day before that it was just getting 5 dunks in a game for 3,000 vc. This is why I don’t get why people are complaining when if you really think about it, this year has been very generous in the amounts of vc we earn. Even if you play on HOF vs pro tbh there isn’t a major difference, even with the 2x teammate grade multiplier, on pro I still am able to get just about the same amount my friends gets and they all play HOF. Not saying there isn’t a difference but trust me there isn’t much of one when it comes to the difficulty and the rewards we get. I could be wrong here but I’m happy with the amount of vc we are able to earn. I can legit play 10 my career games and earn a hefty amount of vc

Ive grinded out two characters to a 75 without purchasing VC. You can get very effective without paying for VC for the first 6-7 attribute points in each category. The problem is the VC required after about a 75. Once you're "decent" it starts requiring about 2500VC for a +1 or +2in anything.

For example: my steal rating is a 70 with 2 bars unlocked. Those two bars are 2500 vc a piece for a total of +2 to my steal. It costs maybe 7-8k for you to go from a 50 something steal to a 70, but 5000 to go from a 70 to a 72? Which really isn't going to do anything. If i was guaranteed an extra steal a game from those 2 attribute points id consider it worth it. But i can guarantee there's no difference between a 70 and a 72 steal rating.

On the same token, an 87 speed vs an 80 would be amazing. But 22k VC to go up 7 points in speed is ludicrous.

It's cheap to get to a 75, but from there it's just way too pricey to improve after each game. After a while it's gonna take 3-4 games to pay for one attribute point.
