Just reached 90 OVR. I started playing so much better once I turn off all shot timing and switched to Real Player %. Jump shots are still iffy. But I make a higher percentage of close and contested close shots with Real Player %. Even with Free Throws on Silver I had hard time shooting consistently. But with Real Player %, I rarely miss Free Throws now. Out of last 8-9 games only had 2-3 games under 30 points. I'm averaging 18.5 pts, 10 rebs, 2 blocks, 1 steal.
So now my initial grind is over. Didn't spend any money on VC. I picked Marcus Young, Corey Harris, and McGee as my Free Agent Suggestion. Nothing else for me to play for this season. We may not make playoffs, hope not so I don't have to sim each game of playoffs. I'm about 3 drills away from maxing Deep Range Deadeye to Silver. This has been the most frustrating badge to work on. Even if the badge activates in game or in scrimmages, you rarely get rewarded for it. And you need at least 5 made shots to get 2 bars. I think I'm a lock for ROY and maybe DPOY. So later I was just sim until last game of season and play the first half of game, mainly for endorsements. Then proceed to offseason. At least, now I will be able to just play for enjoyment rather than grinding.

I got the 3 players I wanted. Kemba signed someone else. Our starting lineup is Young, Harris, Bridges, Me, and McGee. Our bench is alright but no glaring weaknesses. Zeller, Parker, Monk, Batum, Hernandez-Gomez. I put MKG on reserve, I hated playing with him. We also traded for Mozgov last year and he played well. But we drafted this stretch center. So I gave him 10 minutes. I want to play a few games before I decide if I want to trade for a couple bench players. Besides Monk, we could do a little better. Batum and Parker are over 30 but are still decent two-way players. But I would like to get a little younger at our 2 way bench players. Rookie class isn't impressive outside of top pick. Most of Sharps. Only a couple defenders over 72 Onball D. We have one but isn't that reliable to play. I looked around league. Jevon Carter(Grizzlies) progressed well after his 1st year. He would be a good backup two way point guard. Also saw that Lakers had this rookie 6'10 SF(20th pick) who seems to be the best Two Way player in draft. 85 3pt and 78 On Ball D. Those are the 2 I am interested in. Outside of starting lineup, whole bench is replaceable

Kind of tough to get, but possible with good timing on fast break defense

Personally, I get the most chase down blocks on 3v3 Playground

Had 21 points, 18 assists and set the playoff game record for steals with 14...almost had a quadruple double but Whiteside finally decided to crash the boards like himself so I only finished with 8 rebounds. Normally it wouldn’t make me upset but why does the game finally take the reigns off only when I’m close to quadruple double? How does he go from being out rebounded by Grayson Allen to snatching one handed rebounds from the foul line?

You can’t sim games my g. You have to play ten games in this order to request a trade. When u request the trade don’t play the games after, I prefer simming 4 games after that bc if you actually play the games after you’ve already requested the trade, 9 times out of 10 the trade won’t happen. Idk why but from my experiences since 2k16 requesting the trade then simming like 3-4 games after always makes the trade request go thru for some reason. I even had to do this for a friend that went to the spurs but wanted to play for lakers. He requested a trade twice and it kept getting denied and he couldn’t figure out why. Once I told him after he request just sim the games like 3-4 of them and it actually worked lol..so for anyone that’s wondering how to get a trade to go thru quicker just sim the games and as your simming your schedule will reflect the new team you requested. That’s how you also know it went thru. I wonder if this will also work with the trade request for other stars in the league once you unlock the feature to do so. Once I get it I’m gonna test it out to see if works the same as a regular trade request

Has anyone found out if this works for suggesting trades? It seems to work when you request a trade for yourself. But want to know if it works for suggesting trades for team. I know last year it didn't always worked when you played games after suggesting trades. Haven't played a game yet in 2nd season and won't for a few days. I want to play a few games before suggesting a trade. I feel Jevon Carter would be a good backup PG for us. And could okay alongside Marcus Young because Young is more of a combo Guard with his shooting badges.

Also is there a way to change your teams playbook? I didn't see an option when I initially checked. Last year there was an option for it

This is great to know. I don't use a shot meter- been trying to adjust to the animation itself and am doing okay with that, but I'll definitely try this. Does that also mean that I don't need to worry about releasing the button/ stick? I can just hold it and my guy will shoot when he should? Good to know I'll also be making Free Throws at a more realistic rate instead of shooting like Andre Drummond (Silver badge my ***).

Next cap breaker 19% away which I believe will put me at 92. It’s a grind, but I’m enjoying my time playing NBA and Playground 3v3, even with ball hog randoms.

When playing with terrible teammates I just focus on defense, rebounds, and fast break assists to get good teammate grade, VC, and XP.

I’m not a basketball savant, but the decisions some of my random teammates make are head scratching bad. Maybe they are just trolling the playgrounds.

Yes shot timing doesn't matter with Real Player %. Just press and release shot button/stick and it takes out the timing factor on jumpshot and Free Throws. You can still pump fake and all that you just have to make sure you tap. This year, timing really matters. No margin for error. Where I would only do timing now If I knew I can pretty much green release every shot. I feel Real Player % allows you to choose whatever jumpshot and free throw you want. There were plenty of shots that I liked, but couldn't time perfectly. It takes out the timing factor out of shots. Where it is based on mainly Ratings, Badges, and Shot Quality. Only thing is that you miss out on chance to green release. Where with my jumpshot now, I can green release it hear and there. But I rather stick with Real Player % knowing that if I make it or miss it, it was because of my player's skill and shot quality. I hated missing shots because I might have rushed the shot or get caught in a catch animation that throws off timing. Now I know If I miss that it is because of my players skill

I didn't find the option for Real FG%

I'm aware of where it is at the main menu but where is this option available in My Career [emoji848]

I think you have to be in practice, gatorade training center, my court, and before and during games to change it

126k vc and .6% away from the cap breaker that will put me at 92...I had it...but 2Ks ****ty servers dropped me before it could finalize...I also set the record for 3s made in a playoff game with 14...I shot 14/37 from 3 lol I love the playoffs because you can set records without it affecting your career numbers...I never shoot 3s in the regular season.

Wow, I'll look into that! I finally found a jumper I'm consistent with for my Shot•Sharp so I don't need it for him but I may give it a try in the future [emoji847]

With silver I hit FTs at an 85% clip...it’s funny because there are real life mediocre shooters hitting at the same rate🙄🙄🙄idk what idiot at 2K thought tying FTs to a badge was a good idea. Unless you’re a Guard/shooter your FT rating caps at 81 because you can only get bronze/silver FT Ace in most archetypes...if you’re a big man that wants to do true big man things, you’re screwed.

I have silver FT ace on my pure athletic and i hardly ever miss FTs online and in career.
