Hey guys, I usually don't get very far into MyCareer but I plan now since thats where all my VC has been going lately. That being said, can you influence your team to trade or sign a certain player? Or do you have no control over your teams roster?

It seems year by year we get less control over our career. Past 2Ks we could change who guards who, how tight to play players and etc and now this year we cannot change offensive sets or even adjust the lineup or minutes like last year when you reach a certain level.

I caved and paid for the VC to get my dude to a 90 because I was tired of being played out of position. I am a 6’ PG and I’ve been starting a SG for my whole career. So I paid thinking once I hit 90, I can put myself at PG like last year. Can’t do that or even adjust the minutes. I wouldn’t even have this problem in the first place if 2K would stop making all PGs a secondary position of SG.

You can influence your team to trade and sign players but you have to reach a 90 overall in order to so. You also could assign and change plays if you’re into that sort of thing.

Idk what it is man... I'm struggling. Career is not fun even on all star.. I'm an 80 over all slashing shot creator 6'8. My strength is still only a 45 so that might have something to do with it. Even if i maxed it to a 59 idk if that would help. I cannot get passed the cpu in the half court set. Period. Doesn't matter who's defending me. Even Wayne Ellington was crowding me passed the 3 point line.

I don’t know if it’ll work for you since you’re not as fast as my PG but my advice is to call picks. While calling for the pick, use the LT to make sure you’re protecting the ball and you also can explode out of it. It’s the best way you get past the CPU because 9/10, you’re not getting past them with dribble moves because they’ll stick to you like glue or just take the ball from you.

I’ve played on Pro, All-Star, Superstar and now currently on HOF. Can still easily score 30+.

When you get half way to 91 you get the ability to change minutes positions etc. It's weird, I know, but that's how it works.

Really? You’re a 91 and can verify that? That’s weird. Maybe I need to check what the levels say for 91. If it doesn’t say anything about it, maybe 2K did that so people couldn’t give themselves a lot of minutes and rank up super fast. I don’t know.

Anyways, even though it sucks to hear I have to wait until 91, I am glad it’s still in because some of the lineups the cpu sets up is terrible. So I am glad to hear it’s still in. Good looking bro.

I'm 70% towards 91 and that's what happened to me. I hit past 50% and had the team flash up in my main menu so checked it out and there it was. I was pissed off that they'd removed that feature like you were, so I was pleasantly surprised when this happened.

Yeah, it’s kind of ridiculous. 2K either makes things to successful or too unsuccessful. Kawhi just dropped 40 on Derozan doing majority post fades. Nothing I could do because you leave your man you get punished HARSHLY on the teammate grade and the CPU don’t miss threes. Shooting %s was much better last year in MyCareer for me.
