Re: NBA 2K19 Gameplay Tuning Update Arrives Tomorrow, Details Here
Imma be honest....This latest patch just ain't it chief. The shot contest registration is absolutely awful now. You can stand near a shooter and get heavily contested without putting a hand up or jumping. There's just too much catering and babysitting to the less skilled players which ends up lowering the skill gap every single time. The fact that 2k doesn't even give the community an opportunity to adapt to change is crazy.
They should just revert it back to how it was and give the community an auto contest option.Comment

Ohh i know that now we're going to see super speedy suction hands up all over i know that! I know that i won't curse, i'll keep calm 23. Ima keep calm why do you do this 2k.
Did 2k patch blowby last year, no why because crybabies were happy to get away now they aren't so they get immediate actions taken for them to not cry that much. I understand i really am mad this morning OS. Sorry for outrages.
Shot contests were reverted to how they were 2 days agoComment

Re: NBA 2K19 Gameplay Tuning Update Arrives Tomorrow, Details Here
This. Sometimes you can't patch certain things, you need a game cycle to fix them. I've said this before, but I'm actually in classes for this now, so take it from a girl who is literally learning to code. Sometimes you can hotfix things, sometimes you can patch things, and sometimes the code is written and stacked in a way that if you change one line then everything else completely falls apart.
I've written programs, albeit basic ones, that did 90% ofmwhat I needed them to do...then needed to change one line, and suddenly they do 0% of what I want them to do. Then I need to go back and debug every line, sometimes clear and recode entire sections because variable B hinges on an equation between variable C and D, but I need C to account for something completely different than what it currently does, and changing it means that D no longer works as an equation, and B becomes a debugging dumpster fire.
People treat this stuff like it's "flip a switch, boom, done", when in reality it's more like "re-write a 30 page chapter that will also continue to fit the book you're reading while meaning something different"

This makes me smile...
I didn’t play Park last night, but plan to play tonight. I’m guessing the zig zags and deep threes behind screens still exist, but sounds like a late contest on a 3pt fadeaway at least gives you chance.
Hopefully speed boosting gets patched out of the game, but I’m sure I’m in the minority here.

To the first tuning or to what it was before the first tuning? That was short lived. I guess we're back to people shooting 3's like the defense is not there.Comment

I believe the first tuning 9/18. At least that’s my hope

This needed to happen.
That second tune changed the foundation the game was built on. I rather them step back, and leave it until it can be done right.

Thank god. Shooting and the way a contest affects the shot did not need to be changed. Out of the box you can defend the perimeter realistically. Strictly speaking on 5 v 5 Nba teams.Psn: Alabamarob

Personally I dont think you should be making changes to the game less than a week after release.
Forget these noobs man, we've had enough time to see they don't know what they're talking about.
Just stick to basketball.Comment

Can someone clarify what exactly each update changed? Referring to them as the first, second, launch, and etc. has me confused on where the state of online MyPlayer Gameplay is currently.Last edited by Hornetz; 09-20-2018, 04:14 PM.Saints Pelicans Tigers CowboysComment

I've always thought they should wait at least 2 weeks after release to adjust anything gameplay related. There's just not enough info present after a week to know if something isn't working right, or if the player base is just too stubborn to learn new mechanics.
In the case of any 2k basketball game it's almost always the latter."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

I’m sorry but you didn’t need two weeks to see that shooting was op in park/proam. Zig zag was back as well as some jumpsuit landing glitch. Everyone and their mom was shooting green after green and landing a backflip.

Standing layups are still pretty atrocious so that makes sense. You can pump fake, get a guy jumping and you still end up with a light/heavy contest when you go up. I’ve literally seen a guy get 5 offensive rebounds and miss every putback attempt.Comment

Yeah, I really do believe that inside layups do need a slight buff. I've done that before where I pumped faked my defender, dude jumped, I started my layup as he was coming down, and I still missed it.Comment
