    Slam Dunk Contest MyCareer

I'm trying to do the Slam Dunk contest on MyCareer on Xbox One X. It seems like my second button press isn't registering most of the time. I'm not sure if I'm just pressing to late or what but I keep quieting out and redoing it and I seem to constantly hit the first press but totally miss the second one like it isn't even registering. My first press half the time double clicks on the bar even though I only literally tapped it 1x

Has anyone had success doing this contest on the Xbox and is there anyway to practice this outside of the actual contest?

I figured this out, evidently the button presses have to be WAY early as there is major delay in when they register in the game, kind of annoying and twitchy...... I keep getting 2 of 3 dunks and messing up the 1 of them every time so I can't seem to win. I even got a couple perfect but just can't string all 3 together. Might just have to take a loss and move on I guess.

      Re: Slam Dunk Contest MyCareer

You know, I haven't been too rough on 2K regarding the dunk contest because it's pretty apparent they've been busy in so many other portions of the game. I understand where it lays on the priority list.

That said, their current dunk contest format is So. Unbelievably. Awful.

I'm not sure it's possible for someone to come up with a less intuitive and sensible interpretation of dunking. The 2K dunk contest is basically a series of short video clips of players completing pre-imagined dunks depending upon an arbitrary, nearly-impossible-to-master two-button push.

I am very passionate about real life NBA dunk contests and the way they're portrayed in 2K would break my heart if I hadn't already made myself forget that portion of the game exists.

Honestly, if the 2K team were brainstorming of ways to bring more fun to the table outside of on-court gameplay, I think the dunk contest is ripe for the picking. It could be really fun. I still have fond memories of the NBA Live dunk contests in the mid-2000's (my only fond memories of an NBA Live beyond 2000). But in order to move forward, 2K's current dunk contest iteration would need to be burned with fire.

Long story short, your dunk contest mistakes aren't you, it's them.
