Bounce pass not working when clicked sometimes

I don’t know if any of you guys noticed this but when I play pro am with friends I tend to use the bounce pass a lot this year because of the improvement in defense. But there are moments where I click the “Bounce Pass” button and my player doesn’t pass at all. I can be walking up the court, not in any animation at all and when I press the button my player just does nothing. I’ve recieved many turnovers from delayed passes because I have to repeatedly press the bounce pass button because of it not registering the button press sometimes. I know its not a controller problem because I purchased a new controller and I know its not just me experiencing this because my friends experienced it too.

Sounds like a bug, or a really cheap nerf

I feel the passing mechanics are as bad as they've ever been this year. All around. Oops, bounce passes, skip passes, flashy passes, lob passes.... None of it really improves the responsiveness or even improves the results. You can have a glass cleaner throw basket to basket with a 60 passing but using a player with high passing ratings won't make you better at passing. I get no better animations or zip on my passes by having a 95 rating. It doesn't make sense.

Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Magic, Stockton... They put the ball on the money. Everytime.

Good defense, bad shooting, these things happened AFTER a crisp pass in whatever situation was needed. I get it. I'm playing a video game. I'm not them. This isn't real.. Lol

But man so many years have been better. Last year was infinitely better and it was terrible. Lol

I remember saying this about 2k18 and for some reason people thought my controller was broken...

Sometimes the game just wont trigger the bounce pass animation its been like this since last year too

I can confirm this that the bounce pass doesnt work at all times too. Me being a center i inbound the ball most of the time and i like to bounce pass inbound sometimes and he just does a regular chest pass sometimes. I remember bounce passing inbounds alot in 18 and that worked fine.

the passing in this game is in fact broken. that part i do know and have noticed this since day one. in some instances there were no animations to do certain types of passes, meaning your guy would only do one or two animations in order to pass the ball. which in certain situations that would kill the entire open look.

But they have nerfed passing. which is funny because pure rebounders are able to grab a rebound with their backs to their players and heave it down court for a perfect pass to a streaking player. and this is even with guys drapped all over the passer. but if you're a perimeter player facing your guys. you will run or walk up the court and have to smash the pass buttons multiple times before it registers. your teammates think "COME ON BRO HOW DID YOU MISS ME" or "HEY HURRY UP WITH THAT PASS"

You're like I'm trying, I'm trying but it wont work. it causes more steals and bad passes. which makes for more fast breaks the other way. which is why i tell people what you think you're doing on defense when it comes to tipping and stealing balls is more 2k than it is you and your great defense. but most people dont like to admit that so they act as if thats not the case.

oh and lastly. They changed this i think in 2k17. or 18. where even though they gave us multiple passing buttons.
regular pass button = Chess pass
Y button for xbox = lob pass over the top (double tap for the alley oop lob pass for a dunk or layup)
B button for xbox = Bounce pass. (do they finally have two hand and one hand with either hand bounce pass animations available? dont think so)

but there is a way in the controller settings to make your icon passing dynamic where each icon will end up having its on 3 different types of passes by pressing the button certain ways. But if you leave it on default it should work like the above for non icon passing. the problem is 2k broke this in 18 or 17 where even when you dont press the normal pass button which can sometimes be a random type of pass not just a chess pass. The other buttons become random passes at times. again 2k is controlling what i do vs ME the user controlling it. this is my biggest gripe about 2k in general. whats with this controlling my guy stuff? worry about the AI players. leave me alone. let me make my own mistakes and my own success. i do not, need nor want your help. and if they feel the need to do that it tells me there is something else wrong with their game where they dont think people/users can do it on their own. that means...FIX your game for real to begin with vs all of these nerfs and band aids.

Not sure if this is the same situation, but there is sometimes a delay when pressing a button. The game draws out animations at times and the button click to player movement ratio is not 1:1.

There’s input delay/cancellation all over this game. It’s so annoying when you see an opening and your actions happen seconds after you’ve pressed the buttton or they don’t happen at all.

Yes it's not my buttons, recently purchased new controllers also so I know its not my buttons thats messed up. It causes so many TO's when I play ProAm because I have to spam the button for it to work.

The broken passing in this game is why I deleted my Shot Creating Playmaker. Almost no point in having HOF dimer when all of your passes end up being tipped or intercepted. Settled for a Playmaking Slasher and I literally don't see a difference.

It's extremely annoying getting trapped in an animation when I see an open player and can't pass it to him in time.

This is the worst... then you end up getting a turnover because the animation made you pass the ball late lol
