In my earlier comment, I asked for suggestions of where it could be better spent. You said that was not something I should speculate on, because no one knows what is or isn’t in the game due to this. But then a couple comments later, you say you think the time could be better spent. (On what? This is why I asked.) You just told me not to speculate, and then broadly did the same thing just a few comments down. I’m pointing out the hypocrisy of that. Attack? Hardly.

I wasn’t necessarily referring to you. My comment was more general because multiple people in this thread have suggested sexism plays no role in this negativity.

Yo remove the park, the rec center, and all the other stuff from 2K as well...that’s not NBA either. Just have basic career, franchise and league modes all the other stuff doesnt matter it’s just a waste of resources.

I'm very happy to hear that this is finally included in 2K. As far as the hate goes all I can do is shake my head at that. Shake my head at people saying nonsense like 2k (or some other company) should just make a separate game for the WNBA.

Why? so you can look at it on the shelve at the store or on the PSN/XBOX digital menu and chuckle as you scroll/walk by it to buy whatever else you're shopping for? Nah man. That's not good for business, and at the end of the day most people who've been buying NBA 2k before will buy it again to keep right on playing the modes that they've been playing all along.

Yall complaining about resources being wasted and acting like so much needs to be done that couldn't possibly be focused on because of this WNBA inclusion. It's all untrue excuses. Like others have said in this topic, the WNBA is apart of the NBA. Has always been since the very first tip off. Why else do you think the NBA would allow it to have "NBA" as part of its name with the W in the front. You want to complain about something let's talk about My Park. Whens the last time NBA players went to playgrounds to play street hoops? They don't, but it's in the game because that's just what it is. A video game.

WNBA players have been featured in NBA Allstar weekend for over 10 years now, and have even been featured in other Official NBA Basketball games before even NBA live included it. NBA Street Volume 2 had the option for us to create female players for the story mode and its still one of the most popular Basketball games to ever come out. NBA Streets after that one have also had actual WNBA players.

Anyway like I said, I'm looking forward to giving this a shot. I hope that 2k has the female My player/Park option for those who want to buy this game so they can use it. I'd also be down to try out a My League. If it's only 12 teams so what? This is a video game. A game that has already had tons of customization so all this mode needs is those options. The ability to create new teams in the video game. Ability to create new players to put on said custom teams. I hope Legends like Lisa Leslie, Cynthia Cooper, Rebecca Lobo, etc are in too along with the rest of their teammates to add even more options for all of these WNBA included modes. Everything starts somewhere and I'm looking forward to watching the WNBA keep improving along with everything else featured in the upcoming installments of this series.

It looks as though you may be yet another member here who's in desperate need of some lessons in comprehension. It's not that difficult.



The foolish comments I'm seeing are coming from the ones taking childish jabs at those who manage to grasp the fact that the time and effort put into this mode could be better spent elsewhere. Was that clear enough for you, or does this "clown" scare you?

My question is who/what do you think this takes time and effort from?

Face scans will be handled by the team who handles them
Animation will be handled by the team who handles them.
Programming, etc

The resources “spent” on WNBA are not taking away from anything unless they’re dedicating a whole new mode catered to the WNBA addition.

Whatever VC/2K decides to have or not have in the game is gonna be there or not be there regardless. And y’all know it.

Ask yourself this , when 2k18 was out how many items did you have on a wishlist that did NOT make it into 2K19 ... there was no resources being “taken” up by WNBA then ....

This is why it all sounds like folks just talking out their a**

Wrong again.

The perception is that this is an NBA game. A game one would expect to be solely about the NBA, and hopefully an accurate representation of it.
I have nothing against the WNBA, I've enjoyed the handful of games I've seen.

I don't see why you've chosen to make a gross generalization about the gaming industry and turned this into a political thing.

If people expected this game to be solely about the NBA , MyPark wouldn’t be as popular as it is tho

I am just too silly to realize that now they didn’t work on any sort of gameplay aspects whatsoever. In fact, it’s now clear to me that the WNBA portion of the game is the ONLY thing they worked on. Gosh darn those precious “time and resources”

Lmao this is such a farce. I hope you equally claimed the Euroleague was a waste of resources. I hope you think Blacktop and The Neighborhood are a waste of resources. I hope you think MyTeam is a waste of resources. I hope you think every single aspect of this game that isn’t directly related to an NBA team is a waste of resources. Or else you’re a gigantic hypocrite. Highly doubt you’re so adamantly against those additions. Where was the ‘wasted resources’ outrage for any of that stuff? I’ve been on these forums for over a decade (yes I know my account is 7 years old, I lurked for a long time without an account) and I saw some periodic pushback on new things being added to 2K or Live, but I have NEVER seen this level of pushback on a new feature. That’s my point.

You tell me. You’ve insinuated I lack intelligence earlier in this thread, and this other guy attempted to insult me by.. Calling me a lurker? Lol. All because I think ‘time and resources’ is the most bogus excuse you can come up with. You’ve no idea what is or isn’t in the game because of this. You’ve no idea whether or not this will impact gameplay, which gets tuned constantly throughout the year. I simply don’t understand the outrage against the inclusion of a simple 12 team league that likely won’t affect you at all. Just mind boggling to me. This thread should have been full of replies like ‘Oh cool.’ Or ‘Cool for the people who care. I personally don’t.’ Not replies like ‘Wow what a waste of time.’ Or ‘Nobody cares.’ The negativity is seriously unwarranted, and as I said before I think sexism certainly plays a role in it. If this ends up being the most broken, glitched, unsatisfying 2K ever, then sure. I’ll eat crow and say it’s because they focused on the implementation of the WNBA too much. But I highly doubt I’ll be eating any crow.

I don't get it. They make the game, we choose to buy it if we want it. What's the problem? If you don't like something they put in the game one year, then wait a year and buy it next year instead. It comes out every year so it's not like it's a huge game that you've been waiting 5 years from and decide you don't like the direction they've taken it in.

I don't understand the animosity and the name calling over the fact that they've put women players In a basketball game that's come out every year for 20 years now.

No one's forcing anyone to buy it and the company who makes it doesn't owe you to make it exactly the way YOU'VE decided you think it should be.
