    Agreed.
Thats why I usually just pick a young bad team that has a need at my position. That way 1st year or two, I'm just focusing on developing player. It gives me something to look forward too. For a offline MyCareer player, if I were to pick a championship contending team and win it the first year, honestly I would have no motivation to play after first year. I don't want to create 4-5 builds and have to deal with grinding all those players. Ideally I want to create 1-2 all around players and play 3-5 seasons.
I would just like the draft logic to be realistic if they aren't replacing the original draft pick. So if you are a PG, then I wouldn't want Bulls to select you

I usually just pick a team at random regardless for the first team and I always play out my contract, I never request a trade. I usually do move though if the team isn't a playoff team, doesn't have to be a contender but I do like to at least make the playoffs. I still put more time into MyLeague but 2k19 got more hours from MyCareer for me probably since 2k13 and I actually really enjoyed it and still am.

I play out contract. But I usually sim the rest of my rookie season after I get to a certain OVR. I don't buy VC. So once I grind OVR and badges to certain level, I usually sim to FA because I'm ready to enjoy playing. I try to give myself a challenge. After my initial team, I try to go to a team with non playoff team with a young promising core or a top with a potential top 3 pick and become the next dynamic duo.

I had fun playing as a Player Lock MyLeague. I never tried it before this year. I only played 10 or so games since I started late. But I enjoyed having more control of team right away, not being restricted with my build, and not having to grind as much. I don't buy VC so I never minding grinding. But it feels like I was playing just for the grind. Where the last few years, it felt like once I got my player to where I wanted to play it just for fun, I didn't have same interest to play it anymore. So I'm leaning towards doing a Player Lock this year unless I'm blown away from MyCareer

I don't buy VC either. I like the grind. I usually play the first game of every month in the regular season and I always play every playoff game. I usually try to upgrade only one stat after each played game and that way I'm always progressing and when I'm playing on a Playoff team I really improve. I don't know if I'd like the player lock in terms of it being a career, I kinda like not having so much control when it comes to a career and just doing the best in my current situation BUT I do love playing a separate MyLeague and building teams and having total control in that way.

Just keep rhe same format they had for years where you can enter FA after year 1.

I agree I also want the Draft back but instead of becoming a Free agent after your rookie year I've always wanted them to do trades in the offseason. Rookies don't just get released from their rookie contract which sort of ruined the immersion for me a lot of times.

Anyway I don't really know what team my players are going to

Cavaliers for my Point Forward SF 6'8 Lebron build but I just did that this year in 2k19. Don't know really where I'll put him.

                Hornets for my PG

Kings or Knicks for my Center

I play every game but it kinda ruins it for me because I win the championship in my first season. I want to go a couple seasons without winning one to make my player hungrier for his ring.

I usually play PG because that’s what I played in Hs and college. But I’m loving being a PF in 2K ... I always build a PG then a PF so 2k20 I’ll start as a PF ... and honestly the PF position has dwindled so my Options are widespread. Could even go to the Lakers and switch between PF-C with AD on the court with me.

I use to think the same way. I would think that it must be only playing a game and sim to next with nothing extra. I'm not a hardcore Basketball fan and didn't want to deal with extra responsibities in MyLeague.

But if you are a offline only MyCareer player and you want full control of how your player build is and also team control, then Player Lock is a good alternative.
I don't mind the grind, but it always felt like I was only playing for the grind. Once I got to 90 OVR and key badges maxed, I felt no motivation to keep grinding because the other OVR rep rewards didn't benefit. But by then, I already invested a lot of time into the mode and without extra grind, nothing else to play for. I'm not buying VC since I only play offline MyCareer. Last few years, I spent so much time playing the MyNBA2k app farming VC everyday. Where I would wait until I rack up 90K so I can start around 75-77 OVR. With player Lock I can make my player a 80 OVR and not have wait to play. This past year, I made a PG and moved Suns to Seattle. I made more depth trades, drafted players, and constructed the team to my preference. All before I played one game. That way I could just focus on playing.

I will do both MyCareer and Player Lock. I will do Player Lock first so I can save up VC for the MyCareer. My thing this year, is that I want to enjoy the game and get the most out of it.

You don't think the low rider bike they give you the blessing to purchase for 125k VC when you hit 96 is big deal?

Lol no thank you. I didn't know that stuff was that expensive. I didn't go anywhere other than Practice Facility, Gatorade, Spin Wheel. I think that should be free if you grind that far.

All I cared about was the GM ability. After that the other star was mostly neighborhood related

I wish they'd lower the requirements for on court coach. It used to be unlocked at like 91 or 92. This year it unlocks at 94.

On court coach just makes things so much easier for a Point forward. I don't think I'll reach 94 ever.
