It all starts with the Play-Doh skin textures and the goofy facial expressions.

Two things they actually had nailed in 2k14.

NBA 2k14 was best looking game ever I seen but I don't want to play with very old roster on 2k14

The goofy facial expressions were arguably the worst on 2K14

I see Puma has an in-game ad. Now with them being partnered with the NBA, it should be available to be used for shoes when player editing. Hopefully, you can choose them for your shoe endorsement too.

Re: NBA 2K20 Screenshot - LeBron James & Anthony Davis

I wouldn't expect anything major this year or next year as far as current gen. With new consoles on the horizon, I expect them to start heavily focusing on next gen starting this year. For me there wasn't a noticeable jump from 18 to 19. So for 20, I can see them adding small new features or bringing back old features just it doesn't feel like small changes last few years. So I expect new My Career story, neighborhood affiliations, and minor changes to MyTeam, MyLeague, MyGm.

So for graphics, I wouldn't expect any changes next two years because of next gen consoles coming out late next year. Even with Lighting, I don't see them committing to graphics or lighting now when they next gen will most likely see major changes. I'm content with graphics. I'm more concern about gameplay and depth for the last two current gen games. But the one thing I will keep my eye on is body types. 2k hasn't done a good job with muscular body types. The muscle definition is always off. The buff players usually look to lean instead of stocky. Especially when you see the Shaq builds on classic teams. He looks to lean compared to real life. I say all that because of Zion Williamson. Not only are people going to want accurate face scan, they are going to want accurate body type. He looked really heavy and stocky in Summer League. But if knowing how 2k has done it this gen, we are going to see a Lean Muscular build for Zion

Ahhhh, the yearly screenshot nitpicking on OS has begun. A tradition unlike any other.

I mean what else are we supposed to do man? Screenshots obviously only show off graphics so what else are we supposed to say about it?

2K14 graphics are so overrated IMO, only like 20-25 players had good scans, everyone had the same body, and when players opened their mouth it looked like an empty abyss. Shoes looked horrible. Had the worst create a player in 2K history. It’s ridiculously overhyped

The game modes were so bare compared to now, it’s like they said “let’s just go all out the graphics, screw everything else.”

The comparison has more so to do with player skin textures or the way the lighting reflects off of the player models. Pretty much everything else has seen a massive improvement from accurate face scans to more realistic body types.

Next gen hardware should at least be able to achieve these level graphics..... If the leap is any greater, I’d crap my pants for real

They reached there peak with 2k14. That is still the best basketball game. There saving the graphics for next gen

Best part about 2K21 is we won't have to hear about 2K14 graphics anymore.

Since the launch on current gen systems the game has had more of a cartoonish look and feel to it.. We accept it and most look past it because the game animates beautifully while being driven by an ultra deep basketball AI.

Hopefully they will have a new movement/physics system ready for launch with the next gen consoles.
