I'm more curious how the courts lighting has improved. Reflections and what not...kinda like how Live has it. I forget who posted it but they had comparison pics from 2k vs real life courts and the colors for 2k are WAY off.

That's definitely not PC. Console lighting all the way.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Screenshot - LeBron James & Anthony Davis
For me, graphics have never been bad, Aside from the lazy face scans of most of the legends and Jordan still never going back to as good as he looked in 2k11. But it still astounds me how face scans can actually go backwards over "nearly" a decade time frame. In the end, graphics are fine, never really complained much, gameplay is what makes this game tick, not graphics. 16 didn't look as good as some of the others, but I still feel it's the best playing game this gen.Comment

To me, 17 is the worst. They had yellow filter on every player, skinny *** body type, and the texture quality is just not on par with current gen. Also, the jump from 17 to 18 is actually really good. They fixed the jerseys and its physics. The bodies is also nice compare to 17 although still not good enough. Players actually have shoulders in 18 rather than slopped shoulders on 16 and 17.Comment

17 will always be the WOAT. No amount of nostalgia will ever change that.Comment

Our PC Community has added real skin-textures each year to show how to make the game look more realistic and 2K doesn't even take the hint.
Here is the latest improvements to Skin-Textures on PC, that should be default in 2k20 no excuses.Comment

I'd rather have them finally give us a true TV style presentation with* real stat screens through your season, and match up comparisons before games of big stars and really hype up big games in the season. That's truly what is missing with 2k the last several years.* /They were really getting close with the music, atmosphere and the retro filters in 2k12, and then it was just abandoned in 2k13.
yeah...lack of stats is really disappointing...
and ps5 should be out next summer....Comment

Shadows- You have any links to that KCP mod?EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

I agree.
When I say peaked for 2k, I say under their current graphics engine that this feels like the most they will commit to graphics.
Those two are EA games. Besides Live, EAs Frostbite engine has produced great graphics. 2ksports has had cartoonish graphixs for their games. Hopefully next gen, they go for realistic graphics
I’ve been saying this for a while about 2k. Like the graphics look good but look a little cartoonish compared to other games that use actual people and their face scans in game. Also, to me I’ve always felt like 2k especially my career is just a parody of the nba in a sense, that’s why as each game that drops I lose interest super fast and end up just sticking with my league. Like even in my league another sign of parody is the NBA injury reports lol.. itll say something stupid like LeBron James (took the wrong flight and ended up in Canada) will not play tonight against the grizzlies. Like it’s not a big deal but things like that kinda takes me away from the game. One of the most likeable things about NBA live that I don’t think that people notice is the realism. There aren’t any jokes or any type of parodies in the game at all. It feels what an actual NBA players career should feel like, unlike my career where they just force unrealistic cutscenes on us. The prelude was dope bc it felt real, but afterwards all the cutscenes were so forced and just had parody written all over them, especially the Ben Simmons one lol omg.

What bothers me is the crappy claymation skin-textures they keep using every single year!

This honestly looks horrible...
