I love how these people want realism when it fits their agenda, if we point to statistics that prove that shot % shot be much lower they disagree with it and say it´s a video game and should be treated in such way.

I wouldn't take anything butt plug says seriously. Dude said last year they should remove MyLeague and MyGM to focus on Park. He's a complete joke. Theres no way in hell they'd listen to this dude.

We both agree on the bs of green releases. We just have a different view of how to get rid of them. I understand your point, but I am 100 percent for transparency. Especially, since everyone could turn off the meter and nothing would show.

For context regarding that tweet about what the % contest should be to eliminate the possibility of a green release:

"In 2K19, wide open was 0%, Open was < 20%, Lightly between 20-65%, Heavily between 65-90%, Smothered was >90%"

What Mike said is you’ll still see green. So I don’t believe if nothing is changed, everyone will still know if you Greened or not no matter if you have the shot meter on or off. Having it on just shows everything. Either way is silly to me.

Personally I think any shot that's lightly contested or higher should have no chance at being a 100 percent guaranteed make. Meaning, only open or wide open shots should be greenable. If it's contested you try and time it the best you can and let the under the hood calculations do the rest of the work.

What I saw him say is that you will see what the shooter sees. So if the shooter sees nothing your opponent will see nothing. I doubt they can see something that is not on your screen. So if you turn off the feedback and the meter they will not see green. But we will see soon enough.

I think a light contest can be green but no way anything higher should have a chance of being green regardless of badges etc.

The whole everybody seeing your shot meter is a terrible idea IMO. You think cherry picking is a problem now. Wait till next year....

I personally would like to see green releases be removed (or changed so that a green doesn't mean 100% the shot is going in).

But for the sake of compromise, I'd be okay with the idea that you can only green a shot if you're open or if you have takeover.

And I think the realistic compromise is slightly worse, lightly contested/open is greenable and takeover anything is greenable.

This Czar video on Play action buttons is legit. The strategy on this game gets better and better every year. Czar went to work.

Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20

I really hope they reconsider showing the opponents shot-meter. Guesswork is one of the best things in gaming. This new obsession with flooding users with all this info we'd never see in reality is concerning. I never liked the meter but I understood how some guys struggled with different releases (so a visual indicator helped) how it added more skill to shooting and ultimately slowed the game down some so the defense could catch up.

But this? This really hurts the strategy part of the game--this tells everyone on the court when a shot has a very low % of going in--in a game that doesn't even call loose ball fouls [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] #crashtheboards

If guys are lying about their greens the game tells on them--and ultimately its between them and their teammates. It shouldnt result in gameplay giving us some God Mode View. Its just further proof how truly bad "greens" have been for the franchise.

Imagine a hockey game where you know which shots will be goals or a baseball game when you can see the hits and homeruns. A football game where you know if someone is going to miss/make a tackle, if a pass will be caught or a tennis game where you know when a shot will cross the net.

THE NOT-KNOWING IS HALF THE FUN. This kills strategy--I can see guys "running out" on a bad release since they and the rebounder "know" a miss is coming. Thats videogame only behavior.

Think how bad this will be for FTS....knowing when guys will miss unbalances gameplay to the extreme--I literally can't think of anything more counter-intuitive.

Pretty much this. I'd give a little more leeway and also allow light contest to be greenable, but anything higher shouldn't allow green releases. And if I had it my way i'd remove green releases all together and the perfect release would just mean the highest percentage make chance possible for that player, but it would not ever be 100% make chance. At this point though, don't see greens being removed at all. Players would probably riot. Especially considering what the majority of players seem to want...these guys don't wanna miss anything thats open lol.

Yeah, I would take this compromise especially since takeover doesn't last that long.
