I agree hopefully 2k20 allows for us MLO users to have a functional game mode.

Re: The State of MyLeague Online in 2k19 and Concerns about MLO in 2k20
i am playing in online Leagues since 2010. you Know we do All the managing Part outside of 2k since forever (the League was founded during nba live 2004).the only Thing we need is a working Mode where we can Play a season with custom rosters. even that is Not possible. Players get injured even when injuries are deactivated, so many options just do Not Stick when starting a game (ace Off, Team communications, realfg%) and we have so many issues during our seasons that exist for several years and never have been fixed...Comment

Re: The State of MyLeague Online in 2k19 and Concerns about MLO in 2k20
I feel for you. Our community survived 2k19 as we only play one full season (82 games + 48 mins) so we can have all the info outside the game just in case it glitches. However, what you guys went through is unacceptable.
Servers are a joke, not only for MLO. They should make servers, in 2019, THE priority.http://www.anba2k.com/ - League for 30 spanish simheads

Re: The State of MyLeague Online in 2k19 and Concerns about MLO in 2k20
Joe, glad to have you back man. Great write up.
I knew something weird had to have happened when communication kinda trailed off. Part of me wondered if either 2k hired you or made you disappear lol.
I too had a sim league this cycle with cavsfan4life and jumpman that got through 4 full seasons with 30 or near 30 users. We definitely seemed to have better luck than you did. While we suffered from the same inability to simply play games at certain times due to server instability, we were spared the game breaking glitches that you and others felt such as not being able to advance.
I'm not sure that your problems had anything to do with using ported DNA though because from day 1 I was using player DNA to dynamically update player ratings based on real life performance during our season 1. Never had an issue other than scrolling through roster slowing down and then eventually dashboarding out of the game due to an error. This however never negatively affected the league, and I at one point or another had DNA'd every player in file including FA's.
Our offseason drafts were sluggish and unresponsive at times like everyone elses, but in the early seasons we tried to schedule things at strategic times with less server traffic. We always had each FA day last a whole real day so that everyone in the league didnt have to all be on at once.
Again, I know we were super lucky, as almost everyone Ive spoken to or heard from outside our league had worse server issues. If server stability is at least as solid as its been since like May, its a great thing for the mode.
However there are major issues in ML both offline and online that have nothing to do with the servers. While I will post my extensive wishlist and list of CBA corrections as I always do in Davez wishlist thread whenever he opens it, I will keep this to things that were either promised in 2k19 or were major bugs that need to be corrected for 2k20.
***Erick infamously and erroneously said last year in the blog that everything from offline was in online except for inseason training. In fact, these major features were missing from online:
- 2 Way contracts do not exist in MLO. In fact when you import the roster, guys on 2 way contracts are automatically released. This seems like a mistake because when you access the free agent menu, a message pops up describing how you can sign them.. you can't. You can edit their contract but it won't give you the full functionality.
- No G-League integration. The only G-League feature in MLO is the G-League free agent menu. However you cannot send your own players down and call them up.
- No All star game or All Star events
- No end of season awards. You might catch who won them in the social media feed, but you won't see the list and therefore won't be able to override them.
- No Summer League.
***In MLO when you release a player, his cap figure will count against the cap just until he clears waivers. Once he does, the cap figure STILL disappears sometimes. So no cap penalty, no dead money on the cap table, nothing. This was something that was supposedly fixed in a patch..it still doesn't always work. So it was pretty much a crap shoot allowing a user to release a player. Being able to edit dead money here would have helped.
***This one amuses me that it lived the entire 2k19 cycle. Injuries will still occur even when turned off. I even turned the frequency to zero before turning them off in a test file but we still had an linjury.
Most of the time (almost always) when a major ingame injury occurs, the game will just hang there with both users unable to do anything except quit the game. I say almost always because I've only seen ONE injury that did not result in this glitch. The only solution is to wait long enough (about 3-5 minutes) for the game to continue.
***Users are unable to negotiate with or sign guys via extension in MLO, was a popular one but again lived the whole cycle.
***This extention bug exists in both offline and online, but as you cant sign extentions online, you really only experience it offline. There is a bug for extension eligibility for 1st round picks (or guys who have an original contract length of 4 years) that says they are ineligible due to not having an original contract length of 4 years even though the pop up even admits that they have 4 years. Even if you edit their original contract length to 5, they will still be ineligible. During the offseason, they seem like they're eligible, but they'll say undecided. Once the season starts, they are back to ineligible again.
***This one applies to the roster creator as well as offline ML (online as well technically, but like I said, 2ways dont exist in online). Currently in 2k you cannot offer a 2 way contract when you have 15 players on your roster. When you have 15 you simply can't enter negotiations with anyone. So the only way to sign 2 way players is to leave that last spot open, sign the two 2 ways, then your 15th player. This completely defeats the purpose.
***When editing a roster using quick edit in MLO, if you change ANYTHING for more than one player before confirming changes, those players will swap heights. Obvs this makes roster editing in MLO take 5 times longer than it would offline.
***Offline, the Shot Under Basket tendency defaults to 99 for any player who didnt change teams.
***If you released any of your impending FA's during the offseason but prior to free agency, they would disappear completely from the file. We had to spam remind our users not to release or renounce anyone until the confirmation stages during free agency
***The draft class age glitch. There are the ones that everyone knows about, but we recently discovered a new one. Random players from the draft class during or MLO werent aging. Couldnt determine the pattern unfortunately, just noticed that guys like Ja Morant were 21 years old in year 4.
***When a draft class is imported, most of the prospects would have incorrect height, weight and wingspan listed. If you did nothing, once the player was eventually on a roster, it would revert back to the correct numbers. What was weird though is during the scouting process and draft, its not like the player actually changed, just the numbers shown, because when you'd go into edit player, they'd be correct.
So what I ended up having to do was go to each player in prospect scouting, enter edit player, do nothing, exit and confirm changes, and the numbers would change. I'd do this until it randomly selected the right numbers. Annoying as hell.
***This was a funny one discovered super late. All users in MLO share the same playbook file. Meaning if i make edits to the Warriors playbook and you choose the Warriors playbook and make edits to it, theyll override mine lol. Solved a year long mystery as to why playbooks werent saving correctly.
***Never got added jerseys or new shoes into existing MLO files. So our league never got City Jerseys. Sucks when literally every other mode got this.
If just these things were fixed, along with improved server stability, Id almost be ok with zero new features. However, if I could only choose a couple TINY new features from my list to add, it would be editing player appearences, expanding on draft pick protection, expanded admin powers such as the ability to control CPU rosters, and please get rookie and veteran extention rules right.
But anytime 2k adds anything from my list, Im happy. So hopefully I got at least one thing this year
https://forums.operationsports.com/f...7&postcount=43
Its old, so there were some bugs on there that I hadnt fully understood yet or some that aren't there that I didnt know about yet.
Thanks again for your unwavering dedication to fighting for the rest of us Joe. If it wasnt for you and Brian Mazique, I dont know where'd we'd be. Shiiiii if Brian Mazique wasnt on twitter I dont know that we'd have a mode anymore.
I'm already stressing that next gen 2k21 wont have MyLeague the first year ala how bare bones 2k14 was, but I'm getting concerned about the longevity of our mode regardless despite how ambitious the ML team of Davez, Leftos and the guys are. I dont doubt them, i see their passion, it's obvious. It's the powers that be above them that concern me. We all know to whom 2k primarily caters to now and it's not us. As I joked in another thread I feel like they think we're all getting into our late 20's or 30's or older now so they wont have to worry about us much longer.
So the day that 2k decides they dont wanna spare the resources for our mode and ditches it or stops improving it is the day they will 100% lose me as a customer, someone who has pre ordered or at least bought every single NBA 2k at launch for the last 21 years. And I'm 100% sure I'm not alone in that.Last edited by Mikelopedia; 08-05-2019, 04:18 PM.Die hard Heat and Dolphins fan since '89

Re: The State of MyLeague Online in 2k19 and Concerns about MLO in 2k20
My season just recently broke. We were in season 3 in playoffs and it won't let us advance 2 different series no matter what. If we try to simulate, absolutely nothing happens. If we play the game, after the game the series result stays the same. Can not advance period.Comment

2k.. We shouldn't be putting in hours on hours of our time on workarounds for a mode that is hardly functional. we already payed our 100$ to buy the ****in game, the time put in just to play in our league is more of a burden then money spent. Y'all made your dollars, with the my player & my team, that's for the kids. How about a little bit of effort for the og 2kheadsXBOX

You're write up was better than mine! Jesus a ton of solid information here including the promises that were made in the MLO blog that we just looked over. I agree with you 10000% on everything you've stated.
I'm also nervous about MLO on the next Gen. The bones are there but I know they have to go where the VC is. Again, I DO NOT PAYING FOR A STABLE MLO and I'm sure MANY agree with this statement.
Anyways, I appreciate your writeup and your support.Comment

Re: The State of MyLeague Online in 2k19 and Concerns about MLO in 2k20
From the mlo godfather himself, just give us a roster export and import feature and also allow for roster updates to be applied to ongoing mlos. If we simply get this feature, any glitch be it in season or offseason that derails an ongoing multi season mlo can be overcome. For the love of God this can't be too much to ask for and the level of effort can't be that overwhelming for a programmer to allow an export to import feature.
