Off topic but are you coming back to make signature styles this year? Loved all of your work in 2K18.

Hope so. Wasn't really a fan of 2K18/19 so if 2K20 is more of the same then I probably won't be back until much later. Thanks for the support though

I cant start a league from 1984 with the proper 23 teams, but I can play a Wash Mystics seasons. LoL. Its ridiculous but Im sure the NBA mandated it be included.

Whats funny is I'm sure that there is a group of people (including me) who dont give a **** about running classic seasons but are happy about being able to use some of the greatest women basketball players in the world in 2k20.

I dont think it was NBA mandated at all. I think 2k saw that Live had it, that WNBA exposure and popularity is on the uptick and said "What the hell, lets add this into the game".

What evidence do you have that today's WNBA is "pretty unpopular"?

Just because you dont find it interesting doesnt mean others dont. Just like I dont give a **** if you can play a 2k20 season in 1984 with Terry Cummings, Jack Sikma and Paul Mokeski. That doesnt mean that no one is interested in that type of mode.

I don't believe the NBA had anything to do with this, neither did pressure from Live. I don't think it's female empowerment and support for WNBA, either.

Honestly, this smells like a pure cash grab. 2K looks more socially conscious, but more importantly they're setting foot into a larger market. They want females playing 2K and buying VC. Simple as that, and I can't be convinced otherwise. Call me a cynic but this what my frustration with the game has led me to think.

Oh well, I hope the girls get a kick out of this. Just don't fall for the trap pls lol.

I think there's appeal for both. I like historic myleague as a concept and i like the WNBA. I'd like both of them in a 2K game, but I understand contracts and other issues have to be considered for the latter. Charles Barkley still won't join 2K unless 2K donates to the veteran players thing.

If it were a cash grab they would've just half assed it and put it in and say look we have WNBA to. Player specific animation, animated hair and a season mode to boot.
No way this is a cash grab with the amount of work that went into this.

Its nice to hear they are putting the WNBA in the game. I just wished they had done this before Tamika Catchings had retired, and back when the Indiana Fever were good, LOL.


I likely wont play all that much with the WNBA, but Im glad to see them in the game. My 11 yr old niece lives with me half the time, so Im sure she will enjoy having girls in the game to play with

In terms of the graphics? All I've seen LD say was that they implemented a new lighting model and that it was 2K14-like. From the footage we've seen it definitely looks similar to 14. Maybe they'll release another art dev diary and give more details but I'm not sure.
