They specified in the CAP dev blog last year that offline CAP tattoos can't work because of the HDD and loading limitations of current gen consoles. All the tats are HD and very detailed, which equates probably 10-15 Mbs per tat. If you place say 20 tattoos on a single person, that's already 200-300 Mbs for a single character. It's fine for online because the models are saved on the cloud online, but if you had say a full 400+ roster in CAPs, your console doesn't even have the space to accommodate half of that, not even including the speed limitations of a 6 year old HDD and GPU (which has only 8GB of memory). Online is different, because when you're playing myPark, the only time tats are getting loaded in at full res are when you're actually playing that person on a court. Everyone looks pretty low-res when I'm just walking around.

I'm guessing since the next gen consoles are running on SSDs and might possibly have 2TB or more of storage from the start, we might see it implemented there.

Yeah I remember them saying that. It's BS tho. The reason we don't have tatts for CAPs is the same reason we don't have hair colors and face scans for CAPs... Take Two wants people to play MyCareer. That's it. Just take a look at how much stuff 2K adds every year. If they have enough room to put dodgeball and slam ball in the game, they have enough space to put tattoos in.

I'd settle for the announcers calling the created players Jones or Williams, as opposed to the nicknames like ABC or Smooth. Hated that last year

Try this. Create a player, then save that DNA. Apply the DNA look and stats to a scrub real player (I just pick someone at the bottom of the free agent pool) then the announcers will only say the name and NOT the nickname.

            Viola.

The nickname thing used to really bug me too. Works in 2019 if you want to check it out.

Sounds good. I havent tried this, but for people who create a whole league's worth of players, maybe they could replace the Legend players with the created player's DNA, so that way they'll be able to keep all current players in the game.

Does this work with draft classes if you i have import a real player and then import the prospect DNA over him?

Mikelopedia - Don't know. I have not messed with draft classes at all. I do this just for my created team in My League. We need someone to experiment.

There must be a way, cause I used Jackmove's classes (as well as Da Infamous NY earlier in the cycle) and Ive edited them and added guys and Ive heard some last names mixed in.

When they had tats in the game, they were basically treated as accessories. We chose from a list or just cycled to none. Can’t be that hard to implement again, instead we get excuses. It would add more realism down the road in franchise.

We have modders for that but I understand though...since most modders are obsessed trying to recreate one player. Sometimes I'd rather make the player myself rather that wait for modder to create one.

I know other sports games in the past used to have the option to select names from a list that the announcers would say, can't remember if past 2Ks had this or not. Don't understand why 2k wouldn't do this.

I can remember playing an NHL game on either PS1 or PS2 and me and my brother created our on players with our last name (Parent). Both of us couldn't believe it when the announcers actually said our names during the game. Maybe there is some legal issue preventing this now days but this should be possible considering it was done over a decade ago in other sports games.

scottyp180 - 2K has the feature to pick names the announcer will say. You can hear them say the name in the creation/edit screen to be sure the name you chose is one the announcers are coded to say. The issue is that for created players, they will mostly use the nickname instead...which is annoying.

The work around I described lets you create a player, assign the DNA to a real player and avoid that game mechanic (using the nickname).

Can we at least Import Player DNA from 2k19?

How 'bout a unique Dunk Package for Zion?

Is DNA still available in 2k 20 as a way to create a player..?
