Wizards with an all-healthy roster and league. Favorite team and also very hard to succeed with, but at least it's the Eastern Conference. Rui Hachimura to be something special and Thomas Bryant developing as a solid starting center.Comment

I’m doing a ML with the Raptors. I’ve dominated the league with the Raptors the last few years, so I’m looking forward to it being more challenging with the loss of Kawhi.
If Carmelo isn’t signed before the start of the season, I’m thinking I will sign him to the Raptors and start him at the 3 spot until OG earns the playing time.Comment

Re: What are your 2K20 MyLeague/MyGM plans?
Finished my first full 82 game MyGM season in 2k19 with the Heat, going to push for another in 2k20.
I'll look to trade for CP3 & Gallinari most likely. Also want to push for a top 5 MVP finish with Butler & win Most Improved with Bam. ECF will be the team goal.Comment

What are your 2K20 MyLeague/MyGM plans?
I’m planning on doing a long term MyLEAGUE with the Wizards.
They’re intriguing to me because 1) they’re in an awful situation and 2) they’re my “local” team since I’m from VA.
I’ll probably start off by trading Beal for a haul of draft picks and maybe a promising young player or two. I think Boston and Denver are probably the most interesting options. Denver could give me a bunch of future picks and one or two of Gary Harris, MPJ, Beasley, etc. I could get picks + Jaylen Brown, Langford, Robert Williams, etc. from Boston.
Either way, I’ll move Beal and start fresh in DC. I like to keep MyLEAGUE as plausible as possible. That means having top guys sign with realistic teams and not immediately scooping them up when I have the cap space. I don’t expect to have the core established enough to sign a big name for a couple seasons at least. I also like to factor in team culture when I build teams even though 2K doesn’t really have anything in the game that captures the importance of that. Bad culture is what brought the Wizards down in the first place. I’m gonna fix that.
I may also do another MyLEAGUE with the Pacers or another middle of the road, small market team. The Pacers are intriguing to me because they have a nice team, a great basketball state and have never won a title. Plus Malcolm Brogdon is my favorite player.
Should be a fun year!

Re: What are your 2K20 MyLeague/MyGM plans?
Right now I'm thinking Nuggets. I love the future of their team with Jokic, Murray, Porter Jr., and Bol. But I also want to win now, so what I plan on doing is bringing in vets that I think will fit that team well and can push it even closer into the realm of serious championship contenders. In particular I'm eyeing Chris Paul and Kevin Love. I'm also thinking about pursuing young role players who will fit around my young stars, and who would still be able to contribute to a team trying to win now.
Here are the parameters of 4 trades (or two 3-team trades) that will work financially, and I'll probably just have to make small tweaks to make them work:
Trade 1 (OKC)
Gary Harris and Mason Plumlee for Chris Paul.
The Thunder get off of that massive contract in exchange for a young wing and an expiring contract. The Nuggets get to pair Paul with Jokic in the pick and roll/pop, as well as allow Jamal Murray to slide over to shooting guard and focus mainly on scoring the basketball.
Trade 2 (CLE)
Paul Millsap for Kevin Love.
The Cavs get the expiring contract of Millsap, and still retain a vet to help their young guys grow. The Nuggets get another lethal pick and roll/pop big to pair with Chris Paul/Jamal Murray, and who can space the floor a little better than Millsap.
Trade 3 (76ers)
Will Barton, Malik Beasley, and Monte Morris for Josh Richardson, Zhaire Smith, and Matisse Thybulle.
The 76ers upgrade their shooting around Simmons/Embiid, and solve their backup point guard question with Monte Morris. The Nuggets add more defensive studs to put around their young, talented scorers.
Trade 4 (CHC)
Jerami Grant for Kris Dunn.
The Bulls get a big with a skill set that pairs really well alongside Markkanen and Carter Jr. The Nuggets lock up their backup point guard spot with a defensive monster who can keep Chris Paul fresh.
Starters
PG - Chris Paul
SG - Jamal Murray
SF - Josh Richardson
PF - Kevin Love
C - Nikola Jokic
Bench
PG - Kris Dunn
SG - Zhaire Smith
SF - Matisse Thybulle
PF - Michael Porter Jr.
C - Bol Bol
I'm really excited for this team.
There's no chance any of these trades would happen in real life either. Like none. Not sure how important realism is for you...Comment

Re: What are your 2K20 MyLeague/MyGM plans?
My brothers and I always do a 36 team myleague, with each of us getting twelve teams, two in each division. We then add all the Classic Teams and a few all time team players into the draft and do a full fantasy draft. We play each other throughout the year and it's always super fun.Comment

I love the Nuggets future "with Jokic, Murray, Porter Jr., and Bol." I didn't trade any of them away...
And please don't drop the "realism" nonsense after the NBA offseason that we just saw.Comment

Re: What are your 2K20 MyLeague/MyGM plans?
A 76ers "Trust The Process" rebuild with the Hornets thanks to the ability to now choose who wins and loses meaning I can tank on purpose for a high draft pick and rebuild the Hornets. I'll add two to four expansion teams down the line and maybe relocate a smaller market team to a bigger market and what not.Comment

Re: What are your 2K20 MyLeague/MyGM plans?
Those were just blockbuster moves though, rather than moves that don't make any sense.
Why would Denver trade Monte Morris, if they'd then have to trade Grant - who they have just traded for and is going to be an important player for them - for a worse PG in Kris Dunn?
And why would Cleveland trade Love away for no value when it's only been a matter of months since they extended him?Comment

Re: What are your 2K20 MyLeague/MyGM plans?
Your trading for two injury prone players on huge contracts that will only get worse over time, Love and Jokic is a horrifically bad pairing defensively and CP3 will take the ball out of Jokic's hands. Grant is a great defender and a good enough shooter to fit well with Jokic.Comment

Re: What are your 2K20 MyLeague/MyGM plans?
Well the implication was that you keep those young roles players around too. If you trade them all away then Murray, Jokic, etc. are no longer on a team with a future because everyone else is 30+

I replaced young role players with other young role players that I prefer more -- Josh Richardson, Zhaire Smith, Matisse Thybulle, and Kris Dunn. I simply prefer Dunn to Morris, and would rather have more scoring at the backup 4 spot, hence the trade of Grant which opens up minutes for Michael Porter Jr.
By the time the young guards start to develop in Cleveland, Love will be in decline. Moving him opens up +100 million in expiring contracts for the Cavs so they can acquire younger pieces in free agency that better fit their timeline. I have a young team in Denver, but they are also in position where they can compete, so I feel comfortable taking on Paul and Love to help push that needle a little bit further.Comment

Love is not actually as bad defensively as everyone assumes. The only time he grades poorly is when he is put in position to contest shots (like when the Cavs tried to play him at center). There is data in this article that speaks to Love's defense in the season before last. https://hashtagbasketball.com/clevel...an-offensively
I like Grant as a player, but Love's pick and pop abilities should be much more reliable on the style of offense I rely on (interchangeable bigs who can pick and pop/roll, and who can also space the floor and pass off the receiving end). Love will also rebound at a better rate than Grant (which also helps the defense).
If the ball isn't in Jokic's hands, then I most definitely want it in Chris Paul's hands. That also allows me to use Jokic in the pick and roll, giving him the opportunity to score or pass when he is on the receiving end of a pick and roll. Chris Paul's presence doesn't detract from Jokic, it puts him in even better position to score and facilitate off the PnR.Comment
