Re: NBA 2K20 Art Feedback
I have a question. Why can't 2k use PC mods so us console gamers can have up to date player appearances and get rid of caps for players in the NBA??Comment

I mean I see these PC mods and they are perfect. If 2k would do that that would end the problems with players not updated or scanned in the gameComment

Re: NBA 2K20 Art Feedback
2K doesnt have the TNT or ESPN licenses, so they cant legally use them in games. We can have those on PC by people who are making mods for free, and that's what you see on the gameplay videos and whatnot.
This applies to player/team licenses as well. 2K is limited to what they can put into the game because of this, which is the main reason why so many players are missing from the classic teams.
Now, as far as "fixing" current players in game, it's not as easy as you may think. It's a lot of work in Blender most of the time, while also using programs like photoshop/paint.net/Gimp, etc. They would also need to implement a file importing system that makes the PC fixes be cross platform compatible. A game called AO International Tennis does this, and player creations can be shared cross platform.
Meaning, I could create Pete Sampras on my PC (Using his real face), upload it to the games server, and someone on PS4 can download it.
Now they could implement a "scoreboard creator" option, but hex editing is involved in moving the scoreboard to different spots on the screen, and for number/time placement etc. Its a lot more involved than just creating a new scoreboard.
They COULD implement the myleague court/stadium/jersey creator into "out of myleague" roster creation. That would go a long way to help people with retro mods, etc. They would need to create a bigger roster capacity to accommodate the ability to add those items and also new team slots for the new custom teams. So again, a lot involved .
Also the politics/pride factor that probably comes with this whole thing as well.
Either way, just a lot more involved than what's at the surfaceLast edited by RetroDee4Three; 02-27-2020, 02:30 PM.Comment
