Haha! Some teams over power, but some team's play it right. I also set all team rotations, so its a chess match because you can get burnt on D playing vs small teamsComment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
A MyTeam, offline MyCareer and occasional Play Now Online player here.
Game feels pretty goood to me. Haven’t noticed any serious cheese so far online, though to be fair they game hasn’t been out for 24 hours.
-So happy they fixed the transition defense. It’s even better than in the demo. Love seeing defenders actively switch assignments on the break. Corner threes are not automatic open shots anymore. It’s beautiful to watch.
-It looks like they found the perfect balance between 2K18’s blow by and the stonewall defense of 19. The CPU won’t stonewall you and steal the ball all damn game. That was ridiculous in 19. They respect your dribble moves and react to them and don’t cheat to get back after you beat them. At the same time you can’t abuse the blow by like in 18. It’s great.
-Once again I wish they would bring back Space the Floor so I don’t have to deal with the freelances activating and screwing up my spacing.
-Offensive players are still allergic to loose balls lol.
-I was looking forward to the manual switch feature and though it’s still great, I have to say, the AI’s logic on when to switch is pretty good already.
-Not feeling the 4 different dunk types and hop steps all being on the RT + right stick combination. Don’t know if I just need to build up the muscle memory but I think that’s way too many options for one combination of buttons. And I know someone on here mentioned it before but we should be allowed to finish gathers from the right stick with the button.
-I know everyone on OS hates it but I like seeing other people’s shot meter and releases lmao.
Again these are some quick impressions. The game hasn’t even been out for 24 hours so as I play more and discover things my views on things might change, but so far I really like this game.Comment

Scott OG talking defense
says the double team thing doesn't need a patch and should be fixed soon

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
The game feels so good so far but I have a MAJOR gripe for a sim gamer like me (maybe it's only annoying to me).
Do we really have to press an extra button to call a play now? so it's LB then RB (wasn't there last year) then the button for the player you want the play called. Its the same also to select which player you want to set a pick n roll.
I thought it was too clunky last year but now it's even worse.
Calling a play takes waaaay to much time on the shotclock now for me.
I hope this can be patched and someone feels the same way

That is the type of knowledge people need. This is why the game is tough. I got killed mixing up, but played great vs. Boston.
Was going to be done for the night, but will play Rockets vs. Hornets soon.Comment

It’s all the same thing. It happens like 10 percent of the time. Annoying, not a game breakerComment

Newly back to this game and seeing some positive things but can anyone help with this main negative please:
1. Players keep fumbling dribbles, is there a slider or setting to completely remove that?
Overall I like it, it moves better than I remember 2K moving.
Things to fix:
- control is delayed and feels sluggish, coming from Live, this feels like you aren’t ever really in control and when you are the input takes a fraction of a second to translate to the visuals.
- so much sliding and unintended travelling. You can be in a triple threat position and the defenders can bump you to or three paces sideways without dribbling and without a violation. This is a pretty big one that needs fixing.
- passing feels slow and the ball isn’t heavy enough. Bounce passes float and there’s no real feeling of actually getting perimeter players open with quick passes.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
23, I know you keep saying it. But man, This actually pretty hard to pick up. Especially if you been calling plays the same way for years. I see what they were trying to do. But I'm literally driving myself crazy. I've put a few parts in the favorite section. But they don't really work. When I'm trying to mix it up. I find myself fighting my opponent who's full court pressing. And me fumbling through the button presses. Especially when people spring traps and the CPU full court press/trap.
Edit: Especially if your playing online. You only get 5 minutes with 5 pauses. And I'm rushing through changing my plays every single games. Because I'm literally having so much trouble getting 5 button presses in. L1, R1, Player button, R2 (change the page) and finally press for the play I want. That seems like a lot.

But I must say I’m really enjoying the double teams. I don’t think it’s a ‘broken’ feature at all. Does it need to be adjusted? Sure, but only slightly. We may have gotten use to stagnate static defense. Sporadic doubles/traps happen all the time in the NBA — it’s a very realistic addition. It worked on my *** a few times and the CPU kept at it. Well done.
Random impressions/thoughts:
- The way you can toggle turbo to slow down, speed up and change your pace is tremendous. Pair that with the new dribble system and it feels so fluid.
- Good defense matters. I wish there wasn’t so many green releases, but if you ball up they go away and you can have rewarding possessions. It’s actually easier yet more realistic on the defensive end when compared to the demo.
- The blocks this year can be SPECIAL. I grabbed Giannis layup mid-air with DJ and followed it up with an alley up to KD on the other end. The sequence got me out of chair.
- Graphical upgrade is slept on this year. Man, even my son turned on the system and was like it looks like the old game (I showed him 2K14 a few weeks ago). My girl said last night it looked like the floors are brighter & freshly cleaned, lol.
- HOF is NOT overpowered. So far I haven’t needed to adjust the CPU’s shooting sliders. No constant cheesy contested shots dropping regardless of the offensive player’s skill level. Average players don’t magically become unstoppable. This is big for me being mainly an offline player.
- Kyrie Irving can FINALLY put on a show like he does in real life! I’m legitimately excited to play with Harden to see if he can replicated this year as well.
Overall, 2K20 has a much playability as any iteration I can remember. It feels smooth and looks great. As I’m writing this I’m looking forward to jumping back on the sticks to learn more about the gameplay, mechanics and little nuances they’ve added. If this is the foundation for 2K21 and next gen, gentleman we are in for a treat.
Last but not least, I pray social media doesn’t cause a drastic patch to a hell of a game.
Bravo, 2KComment
