The cpu with 1 second left on the shot clock hucked up the ugliest shot I’ve ever seen and it missed the rim by 5 feet for a violation. It was nice to see as I’m used to that situation ending in a bucket 90% of the time in past versions.

I don’t understand what they tried to do with the game .
The players move slow but the pace of the game is very fast . Cpu rarely run plays . Also, I played 3 games and in all of them about 60% of both mine and cpu points came from inside the paint (with many dunks) . The movement of the cpu controlled players is weird .
Good thing is that it seems like it really matters which is the team you are playing against regardless the difficulty level. I won my first game easily against the magic (with the pistons) on superstar . I lost my second game against the kings (with the bulls’) with more than 20 points . And in the third game against the classic hawks (with the classic Celtics) I won in a very close game by 3 points (again on superstar).
Finally , I have to say that the combination of the weird movements of the cpu controlled players and the fast pace of the game has made me feel really dizzy.Comment

I absolutely love the gameplay. As others have said before, unless the Twitter crowd gets their way, this is the year for us old-school sim ballers. Everything just feels so organic and lifelike, this might be the best 2K experience out of the box yet. I just wish the MyGM mode wasn't completely hobbled. No plays, no in-game coaching options, not even the ability to change minutes. I'll be playing MyLeague this year.Comment

The game is so hit and miss right now. The new AI, looking like the old Allen Iverson. I put everything on auto so I can see how the A I works is it really making smart decisions is it really adapting? And for the most part ehhh!! Subbing McGhee into the point guard spot, the awful double teaming is game breaking and has made me put the game down and back to MLB The Show.Last edited by Impetuous65; 09-06-2019, 04:52 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
Just finished my first game.
Movement is incredibly slow and sticky but the gameplay feels great other than that. There are so many beautiful, realistic animations that I think will be even better with some tweaking of the speed and movement sliders.
It also seems like you can actually play with big men in the paint. I had a lovely play where Sabonis backed into his man just inside the top of the key, then dropped his shoulder and span to the basket before dropping in a lay up on his way out of bounds. There was such an organic feeling of timing the move just right to catch the defender off balance.
This game seems like it'll be a lot of fun.Comment

What 2k did to MyGm is the most pathetic thing they’ve ever done. The one mode where offline players could enjoy, and you guys turned it into some leaderboard junk ? You guys don’t listen to fans. Last year I rented 2k19 from Redbox and decided it was DECENT. 2k20 I rented as well, I have determined that this game is a joke. ML is not fun for MyGm players and MyGm 2.0 took 20 steps backwards from what WE, THE MYGM players wanted. We’ve been begging for the ability to watch CPU vs CPU games...nope ignore us there. 2k alienated a large portion of their consumers. Including me. I will not be spending money on 2K ever again until they stop stealing from the players with VC & gambling, fix the servers and actually create a great MYGM. This game has become nothing more than a cash grab. The numbers will show that you can’t disrespect a whole section of your community and be successful. I’m sorry to my fellow MYGM players, seems there is no game for us anymore. My expectations were low and 2k still managed to limbo beneath said expectations. I am done

AI just doubled Patrick Beverley for 94 feet the whole quarter. When they started doubling him, I had 0 points and 2 assists with him. When the quarter ended, he had 0 points and 13 assists lol.
This ****s gotta go!
For real though man, it's so out of place because the AI defense is so fun otherwise.Die hard Heat and Dolphins fan since '89

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
Managed to get in a few games today.
Things I like:
-Moving catch and shoot jumpers are so so much smoother. No awkward feet setting like in previous iterations.
-Movement in general very smooth and dribbling with just the left stick is easier and more contextual. No need to pummel the right stick or turbo anymore.
-Handoff animation/fluidity improved slightly
-Shooters move well off ball to get open. Nikola Jokic's wet dream.
Things I'm not so sure on:
-All-Star seems too easy but Pro seems too hard. Which is weird but I'd need to play more to be sure.
-Play-calling will take some getting used to with the changes made
Things I don't like:
-Green release for CPU - why is there not an option to remove this!?
-Substitution and timeout logic when left on auto is still pretty bad
Hopefully get some further playing time in tomorrow but overall enjoying it after only a few Play Now games.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
Unfortunately, with a wife, two kids (with a third on the way), a mortgage, and a car payment, I have to work to pay the bills and other financial responsibilities. I was finally able to get in a couple of minutes of 2K20 a few minutes ago.
Since 2K2, I have bought every 2K basketball game ever released, including all of the College Hoops titles. The only reason why I didn't buy 2K or 2K1 is because I didn't own a Dreamcast. Needless to say, I'm a fan of 2K's take on basketball video games.
However, the most important aspect of the game--its gameplay--had been lacking to me the last couple of iterations. While a solid effort was made to improve gameplay each year despite the obvious focus on its most popular features, MyPlayer/Career and MyTeam, I felt myself becoming disinterested by the 2nd or 3rd day. It wasn't until 2K19 that I was finally able to put my finger on what exactly was taking away my interest so quickly: Offense seemed too easy and defense seemed too pointless. I'm happy to say that 2K20 finally solves this issue. (Let's just hope 2K doesn't make changes because the online community refuses to adjust.)
I have to actually work on offense this year. Nothing is a gimme. I can't even relax on layups because hitting those successfully takes effort. I love it!
On defense, challenging shots actually affects the CPU's success rate, even against better players. And I love that the CPU will still punish you for lazy defense. You really have to stay engaged to be competitive against the CPU.
Another improvement that I greatly enjoy is the momentum. No longer are players changing direction unrealistically. I have to account for player momentum in virtually every aspect of moving. I can't recall how many frustrating hours I spent in 2K19's sliders to try to get the player movement to feel right. Now I can finally dive into other areas of the game, such as MyGM, knowing that the gameplay is solid enough for me to actually want to play the games.According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
I’m shocked that somebody at 2k signed off on a MyGM mode with so many issues that would surface once people got their hands on it such as the lack of customisation, fixed quarter lengths, etc. When you take a mode that could be altered to suit individual preferences and “improve” it by ripping all of those options out, it’s hard to figure out who could possibly think the idea wouldn’t backfire.
I was planning on picking the game up at the weekend because I liked the look of the improved gameplay but I’m in two minds now.Comment
