For instance, in my Spurs league, when I played the Knicks after halftime they started going a lot of two-man game with their guards. Passes and screens between them, it abused me for a while. I eventually made the adjustments I needed to be successful but it did get me for a while.

Against the Lakers, they spent a lot of the game working the ball around, but in do or die time it was James and Davis and nobody else. They were unstoppable. I was fortunate to make the shots I needed to win.

Against the Timberwolves they went to KAT early, to no avail, so the adjusted and started to post Wiggins up on my guards. I couldn’t stop him for a while. Then they went back to KAT in more of a ball handler role and they started to use him in the Pick and Fade. It hurt me until I finally made the big adjustments in crunch time to pull away.

These teams feel more unique than ever.

In those three games, I beat the Knicks by 20, the Lakers by 2 (on last second free throws), and the Wolves by 10.

That Wolves one was an absolute battle all game long but they couldn’t execute in the last 4 minutes, we could.

Perhaps it'd been teased prior and that's what I heard on the 2K commentary but I swear they were talking as though new "blowout conversation" had been added recently.
They also talked about the 78 game season and the midseason tournament. They’re definitely adding new commentary

The scuffle is real! I have the Magic and Celtics in that first two minutes feeling out process, both teams trying to see the other's tendencies and gameplan. It is 2-0 Celtics in a Game 6 with the Magic leading the series 3-2. This feels like a playoff series where teams know each other well: No one is tricking anyone, just mano a mano punching each other in the face to see who will fall first.

The amazing thing I have not seen before in video game basketball? Jayson Tatum breaks out of the lane to spot-up for a three. I am controlling Johnathan Isaac and sensing I am a little behind and cannot give him any room, I right trigger to keep up. If I were to do this on a pick I might get a foul as the offensive player drew the charge. In this case, with no pick, just Tatum and Isaac, a "ticky-tack" foul animation is triggered: Isaac is called for touching Tatum in the back; of course, Tatum applauds the call.

Annoying? Hell yeah! Realistic? Hell yeah! Beautifully ugly? Hell yeah!

Is this a specific dunk package?

It's part of the 'under basket rim pull' package. I haven't seen any other player do that particular dunk even though I have multiple players with the package.

I'm sure I'm one of the last ones to the party but I had no idea the behind-the-back gather was in the game. Now knowing that it is, I kind of wish there was a way to do it on demand.

Also I'm still 100 percent in on these jump ball animations.

The behind the back gather is triggered by using the euro step. Could be tied to a lay up package or a rating threshold.

Usually the Curry or Kyrie layup package

Right on. I gave Francis the Kyrie package so I figured that's where it came from. Also why I figured others were already pretty familiar with it. I don't use current teams as much as I'd like to. Only so much time in a day, it turns out.

This chest passing animation feels new this year. It's direct and fast and lets you get the ball up the court a lot quicker. I love it.

Didn’t realize how deep the control scheme is. Thought I knew everything the game had to offer. Reading through the controls in the 2KU section is eye opening. A collection of “little things.”

I've been using the lob passes to throw off the timing to defenders or if a defender is in the passing lane.

Yeah, passing is working quite well. My tenth-grade coach taught me the difference between an up-tempo offense and simply trying to run a fastbreak every possession (run-n-gun). I have been able to trigger an animation when holding and releasing "A" as opposed to tapping: It is kind of a shovel pass that goes toward the chest but is released just before becoming a chest pass. It has a lot of velocity. Reminds me a little of Kevin Love's outlet. This allows me to pressure transition defense every possession. As in reality, I have to bear in mind who is passing and pass distance or it gets ugly.

The buzzer beater presentation has gotten so much better. The camera gets a wider shot as the ball goes up and the background noise disappears. And the nice replay afterwards. This is definitely a 'big' little thing.
