    Re: Shooting: button, or stick?

I use both depending on the situation.
For most spot up shots I use the button, I got tired of players fading or doing other shots.

I mainly use the shot stick for everything else especially fade aways and other shots.

I find dribbling easier with camera relative broadcast. I may use the button for shooting and right stick for layups and post play.

I use absolute now but used to use camera relative until 2K18.

So what does everyone use, and why?

I use the stick. Provides more control.

          Think about it.

I can dictate which side I’ll layup on a straight drive to the basket.

I can draw fouls on pumpfakes if I hold the stick forwards.

I can draw fouls on drives and tight defense because using the stick let’s you choose what hand to go up with.

Just a few things. Using the button you run the risk the wrong animation.

If you’re missing close shots (jumpshots) I say shoot with the stick and point it up, bank shots will go in a little more on bad releases

Stick unless I’m doing a post hop because for some reason i keep getting a pump fake animation when I use the stick to shot

Camera relative and button for jump shots only.

Broadcast cam, mainly use the shot stick for shooting and X for advance layups which require double tap. . .

Broadcast, cam relative. Both. Stick for left/right layups and floaters...button for jumpers, hop-steps, stepbacks and Euro/cradle shots.

I need to practice using absolute camera, though. Camera relative makes it tough to do some moves on command, but sometimes using absolute gets a bit confusing on the fly when they flip the court at halftime.

This has been my issue. Fortunately, I'm not a guy who likes to play an Iso, spam dribble kind of style so it doesn't affect me too much.

I literally can't use 2K camera. It has to be broadcast. That makes dribbling so much more difficult though and I've never been able to get the hang of either absolute or camera relative. I usually go with camera relative but I need to choose one, stick to it, and get some solid practise in.

On Broadcast, camera relative, 'LS down' means move the left stick to the right. Right?

Nope...you press up if you're at other side of broadcast cam you will do a step back or fade away depending on hold. If you press down it will be a bank shot.

I'm thinking of doing right stick exclusive for dribbling in the settings and button for shots. Hell there was a time where you had to hold down LT+stick to shoot. I actually liked that set up lol
