Shooting, irl is inconsistent, but I understand what you mean.
I can go on a streak of not missing for a couple of games and then go on a cold streak until I find the timing again. Could be something that’s programmed into the game or it could be lag, but I’m consistently around 50% in park.
There will be games where you can’t make a shot and games where you can’t miss, that’s basketball.
The best advice that I can give is to really learn your shot, get as many hot zones as you can, and use hot zone hunter. When you’re missing step into mid range to sink a couple easy shots then work back out to three point range.
If I can make 50% of my threes with a 70 3 ball, someone with 80 to 90 on their 3 ball could/should be able to shoot close to 70%, which is insane and doesn’t belong in a basketball sim.
Making shooting any easier and someone with a 50 3 ball will be greening like it’s 2k19 again.
    If I don’t green, I assume it’s a miss.

Did 2k make builds with higher than 70s shooting not be able to make shots?
My 3pt and midrange shots are in the 70s and I shoot well. I have a buddy that has 95 shooting and he shoots well.
I see plenty of people I play against make shots they shouldn’t be making. Moving, fading 3s after dribbling behind screens for 15 seconds before they get a sliver of space to fire off what should be a bad shot...green.
I hate to be that guy, but if you have a 70 or above shot and can’t make shots, it might be you.
I’ve been thinking of making a new build with a lower than 70 3 just to see if I can still make my shots.
If 2k makes shooting easier everyone will be making 80% of their shots and that’s ridiculous.

I just wish their was an offline mycareer option to play with the same settings as online. Timing is so different for everything its nearly impossible to practice shooting.

This is something that I can agree with about shooting.
It feels like the same jump shot has different timing in MyCareer, mycourt, park, rec, and ProAm. Each mode seems like the timing is slightly different.

So I have a couple of different myplayers and just recently redid my jumpshots. I played a bunch of Career games to get used to it with the shotmeter off because I have always traditionally played without it. Last 48 minute of career I shot %70 entirely on jumpers.

Went into rec and was AIRBALLING left and right with a 91 3-pointer (HOF catch and shoot, HOF range extender, etc). It was a game where most everyone quit early and the other team didn't really bother guarding me for 3/4 of the game so I just used it to try and get used to my jumper, and it didn't really work, got 2-3 greens but went like 6-21 overall.

So went out, turned the meter on. Went like 7 of 9 with 3 3s next rec game, led our team in scoring. I know my release in career, but its completely different in rec with the same jumper. It's maddening.

So those people who say 'learn your release, turn the meter off', whatever. Maybe if I'm playing with a pro-am team in rec and they don't mind waiting for me to learn my jumper over many games of terrible shooting, it might work. But in rec with randoms, they'd stop throwing the ball after the 2nd airball.
