The animations do look nice, but often times get blocked simply because they are too slow. I can't tell you how many times a player has started a simple standing layup and a center has come from the 3 point line to block it. This happens pretty often online.

nba 2k20 is not the best basketball game to date. the reason why isnt because of the positives. its because of the negatives. i'll name one. There's too many things that you the user SHOULD be controlling that you the user do not control and those things are controlled by the games AI in the background trying to give better contextual outcomes but actually making the game play less realistic than ever and leaving the user with less control than ever.

With all of what the OP has stated about the layups and those of you after that. you are correct, there are some sweet looking moves in this game. but it doesnt matter if i do that sweet move and blow point blank layups over and over and over again when a defender has his back turned because i put that nice move on him, or when i hit the button or the stick to do move A, and move C happens(miss or make..its still not what I attempted to do.)

IMO as a whole it is the best. I agree it has its flaws, I dont deny that, but there have always been flaws in this game, or any game for that matter, regardless the sport.

What basketball game would you say beats NBA2k20 ? I am talking offline only. And I mean as a whole, not 1 specific or a handful of things, another game may have did better.

NBA2k11, many still claim as the best, but they obviously arent true hardcore basketball fans who play Association, because that that game was so glitched, that Association was basically broken, due to the glitched stats in the Association. And there was a lack of offensive rebounds too, they were basically no existent, much like charging, blocking, and shooting fouls on 3pt attempts are in NBA2k20, lol.





I just know for me personally, I havent enjoyed a basketball game this much since CH2k8, and even CH2k8 had its flaws. There is definitely some things in NBA2k20, that aggravates me, dont get me wrong. With the lack of focus on My League and the issues within it are the same yr after yr, that they either just ignore, or they dont know how or cant fix it for some reason, I dont know which, but its too the point, that Im about to quit buying the game day 1. I probably wouldnt have bought it day 1 this yr, if it wasnt for all the player movement this past offseason, and the addition of the WNBA. Come next yr, I will probably wait atleast a week or so, just to see what they did and didnt fix. Because I am tired of the same issues every yr in the only mode I play which is My League. I would probably play My GM if they would fix the issues, its had since they started putting it in the game, as I have yet to ever play it

a few older 2ks are actually better than this 2k. i mean guys, this game needed like 5 whole game sized patches within a couple of months of its release. that alone was unheard of.

Its not about "all games have issues". its that these issues are not issues like normal. these are bad choices by 2k that they are intentionally making for various reasons.

And not only that the games like 2K11 and older don’t have near the depth 20 has...... with the playbooks and series, freelances etc...... no older version can touch it....... just think how good it would be to guys like splash mountain if they (2k) just focused on stuff the casuals would notice to make it a “better” game......

The only reason I hate him a little... Is because some users really know how to break you down off the dribble. It's the other ones that just drive baseline and score each time that drives me crazy.

yeah man this game and how it become closer and closer to real NBA players movemnet make me more excited about next years. and you can litterally avoid being block and instead get that foul.
