Plus, I can't trigger a standing dunk to save my life.

They improved that somewhat in 2K21. I can generally torch Smalls in the paint. Standing layups are still awful though.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

I'll preface this by saying I have 4-5 finishing badges (which I would definitely agree you shouldn't need for common sense finishes) but I finish consistenly with my big. That mix I posted earlier is pretty common place for me down low...even before I added hooks.

As far as smalls....BBQ chicken. They barely even register contests which I really do like about this year. If I have a 3 PG/SG match-up in Park I can score all 21 pretty easily, lol....assuming I'm not playing with dummies.

Do they still have that BS where you get a 95 overall rating no matter your stats in a loss?

You'd literally finish at 95 regardless of your stats?

No that's not the case....Its still a bit wonky though IMO.

Man my big has a 70 3ball and 74 midrange. 20 shooting badges

And the shooting is still unreliable as ****.
Especially when you play with randoms who don’t have dimer on.

Why does 2k insist on bigs not being able to shoot. It makes no sense.
              Especially not from midrange

                Its alot better in 21.

Lots of people have 6’9 bigs.
1 on 1 i can dunk on them pretty easy once im underneath the bucket.

If he gets help its a different story.

                My c is 7’0.
                Interior finisher.

Lay ups are also easy on anything under 6’9.

The only problem is the bad spacing by your teammates.

                Strength really does matter.

Backdown punish your opponent and use post standing dunk when close enough.

Relentless finisher to me makes the difference.

Not gonna lie but i chuckle when i see bigs brick a lot from 3.

Now if my guards could beat a single screen, you can even put up a fight against squads lol

Well, it's normally 95.x..or is it 96.x? I forgot now. I just know it's the lowest whole number possible. It just irked me badly today because I ended a game on 23 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, two assists, and two steals in a losing effort. I also had a teammate grade of 'A'.

I can imagine it would be easier with aiming if you trained yourself to always roll the analog to the top or bottom after the animation starts. I, unfortunately, had to switch to the button since dunking was broken with the stick. I bet it would have definitely helped my layups though.

To be fair Mike Wang said this was the case since the start

if you thought he was finessing us thats on you lol

I made a slasher and made sure he had at least 75 3 after boosts. Mike said if you dont have 75 3 you will be bad at shooting PERIOD. He was not evasive with this info

Yesterday the matchmaking reached a new low.

I had to play the 4 with a 6’4 twoway slasher.
Had 4 guards in the team.

You can definitely yam on dudes in this game man. They did a better job of highlighting athleticism this year. The key is momentum. I have a 6’10 Center with good speed, vertical and strength and I dunk on everything. I also outrebound the bigger builds because I get to my spot faster.

For me, I just need the ball in my hands earlier on cuts or even just stationary at the elbows or the perimeter. A lot of the time guards wanna hit me 3 feet from the basket or underneath it which gives me weaker animations.

Most of the big men I see struggling to finish are the ones who just strafe in and out of the paint. It’s still almost impossible to finish around the hoop if you’re not driving if anyone at all is standing there. I’ll try to record some clips next time I play.

Still terrible on Ls. You might max out at 96.8 or something on a loss with incredible stats. But most losses you’re between 95-96 even with a great line. They need to fix it in my opinion because I feel like it encourages squadding up even more because guys wanna preserve their overall. To stay at a 99, I’d probably need to maintain a 75% Win. I’m around 66% (play a lot with randoms) and I spend most of my time at a 98.

Aargh! I wish they would fix that. To me, if you're still able to maintain a "A" team grade in a losing effort, I think you should be awarded no less than 98. At the end of the day, you still played like a superstar. Of course, it might encourage more selfish play on losing teams, but most people tend to quit after being down so many points.
