I voted 2k11 though since that got me excited on what's to come in later iterations. Now its next gen that feeling is just gone. Maybe if they give love to old school filters like they did for 2k12 then maybe I can jump back to the hype train but I'm no longer the audience for this game. oh well....
Man, I really wish they'd have given us the ability to select those filters in games outside of Greatest Mode.

I still pop in and play 2K12 (portlandblazer's roster is outstanding) and 2K11 (PB and MKHarsh33 rosters) from time to time and enjoy both so much more than anything 2K has put out post-2K16.

Yeah, let's see the results already! or won't it look good for 2k sports if the majority of people still think the best 2k basketball game they put out was 10 years ago

If they can bring back old school filters for next gen my days of boycotting 2k are over. But sadly the audience is my team and the park smdh. 2k11 gets my vote although 2k12 and 16 are not that far off. If it wasn't for playing 2k11 I would've never join the 2k community.

Re: Vote For NBA 2K Game of the Decade

I find two things really interesting whenever this conversation comes up with the NBA2K series
            1. The number of people who like 2K11, 12, 14 and that generation of the game because of visual characteristics, aesthetics (filters to look like older broadcasts, menus that were more pleasing, etc)
            2. The number of people who negatively criticise the current game for what is 90% of the time gameplay failings when playing the online game.

Then there are an extremely small percentage of people who will thoroughly dissect the gameplay nuances of the older games and find them to be better but always admitting that the animations are more natural now, and finally those that analyse today's game looking only at offline and all agreeing the game plays great today (myself being one of those). And then among ALL of those, the even tinier percentage of people who appear to really know basketball as a game (the fundamentals, the strategy, the mechanics of the game) not as a televised entertainment where certain players should behave or look one way or another.

I've had this conversation in other sports game forums for the NHL Series, The Show, PES, and the fact is an enormous part of why we subconsciously like or don't like a game is the personal sense of immersion. The number of times I've seen people prefer games with certain non-gameplay elements to another game that played better is too numerous to count. And they'll even admit, "actually GameX 2014 does have massive problems with A, B and C but it's just so much better to me" or even going as far as to say "Yeah, the current game handles these important things really nicely but the old one was the first one I played for hours so it has a special place in my heart" or " it was the first one of those years that were great so I think it's better." All valid reasons. But we need to keep in mind how biased they are.

You like one version more than the others, that's the best one. One CLEARLY handles the physics better than the others, that one is the best representation of the game but may not be the one you like. I guess my point is, given the elements I mentioned above, I don't see the point of these 'which NBA2K is the best' threads all over the internet (and there are tons of them) despite the fact that over time I've participated in many of them. Amd that there are so many is saying something. But I'll tell you one thing, anyone wondering why 2K doesn't change things that aren't liked in the game? It's because of threads like this where gamers/buyers have proven to them that over a decade of their product that people still talk about pretty much each one. In business that's called the product selling itself. Not even cars, fashion, or tech have the kind of brand awareness of people discussing the last 10 years of product on their own with no prompting by the manufacturer.

Just some thoughts, not worth much more than being an opinion.

I voted 16 assuming current gen+, but I think k14 before was prol the best for competition.

This game isn't bad, it just has a lot of issues.

                      2k11, 12 and 16.

2k16 probably being the GOAT for me - I was in so deep with that game, I skipped the next 3 iterations.
