    Best/Worst Takeovers in 2k20?

Honestly, i feel like the defensive takeovers are extremely under powered. I do not feel that as a wing i get any more steals or blocks when i have takeover. As for the Rim Protector takeover, i feel like i get more rebounds, but i get plenty of blocks without it. I wish that guards didn't make as many contested layups when i have it activated, but most of the time my big man match up will miss with takeover.

As far as the other takeovers, i personally only have experience with the Shot Creator takeover. I have 4 characters, 3 of them are defensive. My Shot Creator takeover is probably the most difficult to obtain, but I'm pretty happy with the results.

When the SC takeover is activated i typically green threes wide open, and i can hit leaning midrange shots pretty consistently. My only issue is that it's way too difficult to hit pull up jumpers BEFORE i get takeover activated. I'm relegated to standing jumpers or driving instead of playing my SUPPOSED game, which is hitting shots off the dribble.

But like i said, I'm curious as to your feedback on the other takeovers.

the best takeover for me is the slasher takeover, pretty fun to use and easy to get.

i agree that the rim protector badge is kinda sorta useless, i definitely get more blocks without it activated.

as for shot creator i wouldn’t say it’s the worst takeover but it is pretty hard to get. and when activated it’s not an automatic knock down like how it was in last years game. but i’m trying to get more into the SC takeover, i think it can be fun. just gotta put the right badges combo with it.

Lol you guys don’t need to block anything with that rim protector takeover. It ensures every layup is a brick 😂. I don’t even bother taking layups when I see it.

yeah rim protector takeover is intimidator on roids lol

personally i love the post takeover.
you can bully everyone in the paint.

regret not picking slasher over lockdown takeover.
seems useless as you get great defense by default.

well even when my rim protector activated plus hof intimidator, hof rim protector and gold chase down artist, with hands up contest it doesn’t affect the other guys layups so idk what you’re talking about lol. but hey maybe IM doing something wrong 🤷🏼*♂️

question though...when you guys do regular hands contest, do you hold the L2/LT + right stick or just right stick contest ? is there a difference ?

Hands up in the paint is non existent this year.

In offline 5v5 I've noticed the defensive takeover is pretty good. You can get some ridiculous recovery blocks and contests with it. As always, sharp takeover is great, once I get it I'm able to green yellow contests and occasionally red contests (HOF). I like SC takeover on taller players. I wish LeBron didn't have playmaking takeover, maybe I'm not using it right but I don't really feel any crazy difference when it's on. He's definitely a bit better at finishing but that's just cause he's hot.

Post scoring takeover is still really good IMO, I have pretty limited experience using it this year though.

Playmaking takeover is easily most under appreciated

Lock takeover gives you most +10s to attributes I play w a 2 way sharp who gets contact dunk animations with an 81 driving dunk while in takeover.

I just made a 6’10” KD build with shot creating takeover.....

Sharp is cool because you can fill the bar up quickest but I kinda hate the takeover badge.

                  Slashing is whatever.

Post is cool but you just gonna get doubled lol

Rim is cool cause you can get team takeover relatively easier than anyone else (but a sharp)

Yeah. I regret getting the lockdown takeover on my PG too. It's so damn hard to get in REC (rarely get it even in the MyCareer games too), and it doesn't really feel like my player gets any better when it does activate. The badge is more for fools who want bum rush the inbounds pass and harass the ball handler for the entire length of the floor. When I play defense, I'm about cutting off the driving lanes and forcing you into a bad shot. I try to time my steal attempts during the contact animations, or when my matchup is showboating with dribble moves.

I have the rim protector badge on my C, but like my PG, I know how to play defense where I really don't need it. Most post players will pump fake 2-3 times before taking the shot, and I just use the hands up animation (which actually results in more "steals" than it should) during the time. Guards and Wing players are just f*cking greedy when attacking the rim. They're going to try to dunk/layup no matter what, so they're usually freebie blocks. Here's the kicker...I'm playing good post defense without the Intimidator badge.

I wish the game allowed you to change your takeover. I think I would have went with the "bully" takeovers of slasher and post scorer instead.

LS + RS. RS allows you to choose a direction (left, right, up) for your hands, and I use the LS to "crowd" my matchup. I don't jump until after the second pump fake, but I have Gold Pogo Stick. FYI, I would recommend getting HOF/Gold Post Lockdown. Most bigs' shot attempts register as post moves despite whether or not your opponent meant to do it. Also, I would recommend getting Moving Truck on silver or bronze. I could be wrong, but I think most bigs' tend to use the LT on instinct before going into their move. The Moving Truck badge will give you resistance animations against their brief backdown attempt which should help throw their shot off balance.
