Imagine coming down court, and you dont have your teammate with a headset so you cant talk to each other. so some random teammate cuts out to the corner three, and his defender follows so your idea pass option turns to the shooter on the other side who might end up being open as the play is starting to develop in real time. then bam, split second, that first guy on the other side v-cuts right back towards the paint from the 3pt line, shaking his defender and leaving him behind him chasing. guess how quickly i need to make that split decision to pass it to him. out of reach of the defender.

icon passing means, i have to first...Bring up the icons (RB), then press the button corresponding to his position.

direction passing means, i have to aint with the stick towards him and press the proper pass button (preferably a lob if he's athletic enough or and bounce pass if there is anyone remotely could get in the passing lane. or a nice chest pass leading him towards the basket.

the i con passing takes a little more time to do than just a nice direction pass. but because 2k's passing is suspect at times. obviously your best bet is to use the icon passing but for me it takes you out of the immersion of the game.
Passing windows do not close that fast, and it doesn't take that long to use icon passing when you have players' icon already memorized.

If you hate using icon passing, then you're putting yourself at a serious disadvantage. Especially if your build don't have the proper playmaking ratings and badges. If you noticed in my videos, I already had my icons up before crossing mid-court or while I'm observing the the floor.

It's your choice, but it's hard to blame the game when there are better passing options available.

After playing 3 games as a center, I just came to the conclusion that dudes just don't have any court awareness and are selfish as hell. They're always looking for their shot first long before they look to help anybody else score.

Yeah, you're not going to score much with randoms as a big. I'll be wide open on the break if I'm on a shooter. I'll set a screen and have a wide open alley oop, don't get it.

This is why you see bigs sitting under the rim the whole game cuz they think that's the only way they're going to eat is off putbacks. The problem is that it crowds the paint. I've said i even get more offensive rebounds after running in when a shot goes up, this will often get me better position for a Putback because my match up isn't just camping in the paint with me.

I get it tho, as a post scorer you're looking to dominate your match up. The problem is the post moves are typically too slow before a randon guard doubles you.

I recommend developing your jumper, that should help you get touches.

Biggest issue with this game had always been the lack of iq in general.

Its especially worse under 92 overall.

The level of play is just plain stupid tbh.

Man! Who you telling? I never have felt so disgusted at what I was seeing. It's weird playing as an unselfish, role playerish PG for most of NBA 2K20, then switching to a center build. I'll see what happens when I get to the higher matchmaking, but dudes have no clue how to be a PG. I was talking to myself in most games like "That should have been a pass. Pick your head up! Stop dribbling into the double team if you don't know how to break it! Etc....".
