Pro am takes just as much if not more communication. Park is where you’re supposed to just walk up. I understand that’s not sim. But you won’t get better with randoms. Even if your 4 ain’t the best 4 you’ve seen it’s better than randoms.

Again I grind badges rep new builds with a circle of people I trust in rec

Pro am is for payed league and tourneys

Ranked is broken and the matchmaking that works is just as bad as rec

Hence the reason why I don't play Pro-Am....

        Re: Pro-Am Players in REC

I refer to indoors as pro am as opposed to oarkZ rec walk on pro am it’s 5 v 5 inside. It takes communication.

If you run a good game with a random who llaus smart send him an inv.

That’s literally the only realistic solution for the gripe.

Their matchmaking is always gonna be off...

You have too many factors....teammate grade, averages, overall, rep, win percent.....then times 5.....vs the same scale...for a match.

Sometimes it takes 2 minutes to start a rec game we think because of matchmaking and they give us some bums.

This time of year even elites be bums

Maybe they can try to do match making by teammate grade or something next year

Teammate grade and lineup (builds) are the best indicators of whether it’s going to be a good game or not.

I've been playing 2K19 Rec and I know the game is not relevant anymore, but I tell you man, I just played against a squad and nothing pisses me off more than when they start flopping and celebrating after every play like they're actually doing something impressive. And like you said ksutton, the defense is just ridiculous. On every inbounds pass, each one of them was just SPAMMING the steal button. It's just unreal.

Tbh it should just use assist and quit% for matchmaking.

Let quitters play and quit on each other and group people who dont pass with each other.

Eventually these 2 types of people will get stuck with each other lol.

Also keep squads and solo players seperated.

Rather wait 10 min on a match with only randoms on both teams then get stuck with squads where people start quitting or just running the same **** over and over.

The only request I have for rec: let me solo queue and play vs solo queue ppl only

                Another fellow PNO player, lol?

Yeah, I hate when they other team does that nonsense. Another thing I like about REC is that sometimes (not all the time, lol) you can tap into your inner Jordan killer instinct and pull off a great come from behind win. In PNO, it feels like you can make all the proper adjustments to make a comeback, but it feels like you're fighting against your opponent AND the damn game.

You need to slide over to NBA 2K20 REC. I like the badge setup and progression system much better.

This is exactly why I stopped playing PNO. At the end of the day, too many bots doing stuff I don't want them to do. A lot more cheese, a lot more 'automatic' stuff over manual stuff. Feels more like simulating than dynamically playing sometimes. Nothing beats outwitting human opponents. Then again, it gets annoying having to rely on a lot of bad teammates, many who are certified crackheads. So then I'll play the computer or MyTEAM once in a while.

This is the damn quote of the year regarding PNO! I couldn't quite put my finger on why my PNO and REC experiences were so different, but it's fundamentally the same gameplay. What you said is EXACTLY what happens with PNO. Like I mentioned in the PNO thread, if I'm better than my matchup, then I'm just freaking better and that fool can't hide. If I get stomped by matchup, then I tip my hat to them and keep it moving. PNO...naw it doesn't happen like that. I can know for fact that I'm arguably better than my opponent, but somehow I feel like the game will screw me at different times to "maintain" the numbers.

You have to realize the differences from standpoints. In PNO your are more of being a coach of team while in rec you only responsible of controlling your virtual self all the time. I doubt all people complaining of "scripting" do well timed changes/manual subs/time outs which matter A LOT even in broken game as 2k20 is.

Besides that even controlling a player is not really a direct thing since the game very dependant on canned animations, badges and lacks in real-time physics . All you can do is give instructions to the AI in the best manner.

Yeah...REC definitely gives you more control (for obvious reasons) than PNO. I believe people are confusing "scripting" with a contextual situation that didn't happen as expected. I don't think the game is "scripted", but it definitely feels "bias" at times.

Man, y’all literally complain about everything. So the hell what if people squad up for the Rec? Not every squad should be forced to play Team Pro Am.

1.) With the people I play with, there’s anywhere between 2-12 people online at any given time. Some are capable of playing Pro Am, but a lot of them aren’t, and I wouldn’t trust them in a constant competitive setting. Way too many mental lapses at the wrong times, and sometimes they just don’t take the game serious. But because of the constant crying, I should be forced to play Pro Am? No.

2.) Sometimes I may only go into Rec with one or two other people. But nope, should be forced to play Pro Am, right?

3.) There’s a lot of days that we like to run some real unconventional lineups (our latest lineup tends to be two PGs, and three SGs) just to BS around with. But naaaah, we should be forced to go to Team Pro Am with that, huh?

                          Stop it.

I think most people in here are talking about full squads of 5 that come into the rec and sweat their asses off. The ones that run a zone defense, run plays, etc. against complete randoms. Basically, the squads that play like they're in some tournament to win money when rec is supposed to be casual. They're pretty much impossible to beat, even with good randoms. Personally, I think squads of 2 or 3 are completely fine.

I played a squad that ran double-screen pistol action with wraps all game. When that didn't work they ran slice action to get the SG open in the post. When that didn't work they ran floppy actions to get open threes. They didn't play zone until they realized that most of us knew what we were doing. I was laughing all game. I tried to message them to see if they were a bunch of actual ballers but they never responded to my messages.

They actually ran plays? Damn. That's some high level stuff right there.
