you must have missed the other thread talking about this. But the answer to your question based on the definition/description of the badges. it should be "DREAM SHAKE"

Raises the chances that a defender bites when doing fakes in the post. Post moves fakes have a higher chance of stunning a defender. Also, shot attempts following post moves and shot fakes have an increased shot percentage

With all this said ^^^. dreamshake will work vs the CPU like its supposed to but not vs other users pogo sticking. even when dream shake pops up on a move or a fake, it doesnt STOP the pogo stick guy from jumping a 100 times in 2 seconds flat. it will just give you a boost to help you make the shot after that fake.

If you manage a shot changing acrobat type then odds are you will draw a foul.

Regular shot might get those body blocks that should be a foul.

Usually after 2 of these fouls they will stop spamming block or they will foul out lol.

Once they get in foul trouble they usually
Play scared and you can have your way.

this doesnt work like it did on older 2ks. i used to kill people with this as a big or a little getting people to bite on that fake and lean ...FOUL . stop jumping jack rabbit.
but now, it works like 30% of the time if that. the other times you're going to get body blocked or fake stripped. so that means you have to have unpluckable on like silver to gold, when in most situations with a big, bronze is good enough.

so now we're talking about using up quite a few badges unless your build is one that has a ton of yellow playmaking badges. you may run out in that area.

If you could have any badges you wanted in the yellows. i would say give me HOF spin tech, HOF, Dream shake, HOF quick step, then obviously in the blues as a post move guy, give me HOF drop stepper , and HOF fancy footwork.
we're just talking for the purpose of doing moves and having that classis hakeem footwork.

but like you've said how often will you get the ball on the block and room to go to work on someone 1 v 1?

Even against the cpu you only get 1 on 1 in the post until you score 3 or so times, then its a double every time. I think part of the problem there is a combination of it being too easy to strip the ball from post bigs(probably due to the low ball handling and there no longer being a separate rating for ball security), and not enough fouls called for poorly timed steal attempt.

Getting back to the original topic....the OP was basically looking for anything he can do to counter players abusing the Pogo Stick badge.By now, I think we all know that 2K isn't very realistic anymore and if we plan on playing, we have to work with what they give us.....at least until they change things.

Even though I can almost guarantee it won't be game changing, I think trying to draw fouls with the Up and Under is probably the best suggestion so far. Honestly if fouls in general were called more correctly based on what's actually happening on the floor instead of there seemingly being some type of RNG element to it, it would probably put an end to people constantly playing out of control.

i wanted to chime back in... the drawing fouls bit had been pretty successful. dream shake is super inconsistent however.

As a smaller big, i don't get many foul calls. My bigs are only 6'9. But i swear the big guys get foul calls all the time. If they're 7'3 they can chuck me around in the post and its not a foul. But when i try and contest a giant it's a foul.

Of course not, because 2k. But often times it's the bigger player that gets defensive fouls in real life. Especially guards driving on bigs. This year, the guards get the calls but smaller more agile bigs don't get any love in the paint.

Keep in mind, Dream Shake won't guarantee the fouls calls themselves.IMO it is meant to work with your other finishing badges to help get you the And 1 when the foul does happen, instead of "just a plain shooting foul".

Its the dumb players that get called for constant fouls in real life and in this game regardless of size.

well i meant in the sense that it's supposed to provide a boost in success for lay ups after a pump fake. more often than it should be my shot is slow and allows them to recover.

I'm also curious what the best counter to 'intimidator' is in the post. I have a post center with a 95 close shot and its pretty often I'll brick an open layup because an opposing big puts his hands up on the opposite side of the rim. I know intimidator is overpowered, but which finishing badge would help here? Contact finisher? Acrobat? Slippery?

consistent + pro touch... high as possible

also repositioning a bit before shooting can reduce their contest.

                            Lay ups consistent finisher.
                            Dunks contact finisher.

Contact finisher also works on when there is contact during the lay up.

Pro touch if you have great timing.

Relentless finisher if you want to lower the stamina pen you get for contact.

Relentless helps getting contact dunks rather then fluffy lay ups.

Although brickwall can cancel that out real quick lol
