all i know is this..For the price increases 2k FOR THE NEXT GEN- YOU BETTA HAVE EVERY PLAYER PROFILE PICTURE( no more generics), Every Kicks(shoes) DROPPING AND Every colorway that comes out( no more Halfa$$ing like on 2k20)
And every Tattoo, hairstyle changes that comes with the player( i don't care if say Austin Rivers had a new Tattoo on Dec1st It better be in the game 2 weeks later. For 2k to charge extra WHEN NO GAME PUBLISHER( NOT EVEN EA- AND WE KNOW HOW THEY ARE BOUT GETTING MONEY) I need to GET WHY YOU CHARGED THE EXTRA COST

the next gen halo price leaked iirc and it was $70 so that might be the standard price next gen so it's not just 2k.

It was like that the last time...2k14 was the first next-gen game on consoles, and 2k15 the first on PC. The reason? Noone knows...Especially as the NBA 2k league is using PC to play their games.

Sony and Microsoft push companies to launch their games only on consoles at least the first year to push users to buy new consoles, EA did the same with Madden and Fifa. I honestly see no other reason.

What a stupid bull****...I would never buy a console just to play this game a year earlier. Way to expensive stuff compared to what you get with a PC, especially considering that games are more expensive and you will have to pay for online services...

70 dollars may be the price of next gen games but it does kind of suck for us that plenty of other games like fifa, madden, cyber punk have a free upgrade to the next gen version before everyone starts having to pay the 70 dollar price tag

As for me I’m likely to just wait and get the standard next gen edition, the next season will be delayed anyway and gameplay wise I still enjoy 2k20. Rosters wouldn’t be up to date for awhile either.

What 2k should have done is if you buy the standard edition then it carries over to standard edition next gen, buy the deluxe version then you get the deluxe version for next gen.

As it is you cant get the deluxe version of both current/next gen unless you buy separately for way more money

Do you really think they ditch all the work on gameplay engine and started from scratch for 2k21 next gen?
They call 2k14 built from scratch while it had identical gameplay to older gen and whats new was the textures, lightning and mycareer story.

Sports games are always trash the first year on a new generation and I wouldn't be expecting too many changes on the PS$ side either. Hard pass this year

The point is that 2k21 ps4 and ps5 really likely to share exact same gameplay mechanics, but ps5 game will look like different game because upgraded textures, lightning, shadow etc.
I have yet to see some new animation or gameplay mechanics interaction between ps3 and ps4 2k14.
