well if im getting this correct......

Current Gen: $60
Next Gen: $70

if you get the mamba forever edition(current gen) you get both games for $100 plus 200k VC(VC crosses over to next gen) which is like $50. So for me who won't really touch the current gen version off rip it's like an $150 dollar value and that's not including all the in-game rewards like clothes, shoes etc.....

I wish that they would have kept the pre-order simple. I have to cancel my pre-order and wait for when the next-gen version is available. From what I'm reading, if you pre-order the next-gen legendary edition, you get 72 hours of double rep for MyPlayer. If your order the next-gen game, you get old Kobe for the next-gen icon and Lillard for the current-gen icon. If you pre-order on the current-gen, you'll get young Kobe icon for your current-gen icon, and the Zion icon for the next gen version.

I don't know why they can't give you both the Zion and old Kobe icons on the next-gen console.

What I'm trying to figure out is it i get the Xbox series x version of the game, will i still be able to play against current gen 2k gamers?

Technically, they are two different games. However, I'm pretty sure that we never have been able to play cross-generation anyways.

Being as I have no interest in online modes anymore,I think I'm going to stick with older 2K's for a while.To me it's just not worth the money anymore.

But I thought I heard during the Series X reveal that the new console would be part of the Xbox family of consoles that can play together.

I understand that it'll be two different games. When I get my series x console and Frobe edition will I see the Lillard game installed for me to play against my current gen friends?

If I get this i'm getting the Kobe Digital Series X version and will probably just wait till I have the Series X to even play the current version.

Yes. My last statement was misleading actually. On the previous generation, I don't believe there was a backwards compatible version of NBA 2K14. With this generation, there is a backwards compatible version of NBA 2K21, so you be able to play your friends who are still on the PS4 or Xbox One. Really and if you think about it, it's a pretty sweet deal, because you don't "leave your friends behind" if you happen to buy the next generation of consoles.

They better release some details soon. In the COVID era September 4th will be here in no time. It is both tomorrow and yesterday.
