Hilarious I’ve been complaining about how unrealistic 2K has become since the park integration and oddly enough female ballers at the park is one of the more realer aspects

True, although the basis of complaints is that they won't "mimic real life" if they aren't completely out classed by make MyPlayers. I've already said my piece though, we'll see how 2k handles it.

I already feel sorry in advance for the number of toxic messages and/or cringe advances any girl brave enough to play a female character in the park will receive.

2K's online community is the most cancerous I've seen, and I've been playing WoW and FPS games for decades... ladies if you think the people in those are awkward, you ain't seen nothing yet :/

any online community is “toxic”. you got people behind a screen who can say anything without consequence. you cant control what they say theres no need for anyone to play victim.

True,I think it is made slightly worse in 2K since the sports itself carries the expectation of a certain amount of trash talk occurring, especially in street ball.People tend to use that as an invitation to get really over the top with the insults,etc.

Couple that with the 98% crackhead low iq 2K Randoms / casuals crowd with an annoyance level of 1000 (ballhogs, buddy ballers, trolls..), and the environment for trash talk is ripe lol.

I think the online game is deliberately designed for hero ball as well, so a lot of people come into it with a complex. Teams are an afterthought and playing as a team is not rewarded enough.

Like, most bad interactions online in NBA 2K is actually between teammates. In my experience that's a rare achievement by 2K.

The amount of people getting mad over people not passing the ball is just hilarious.

We could be up by like 10 and someone gets mad they aren't getting the ball and we lose. It has happened many many times.

However, not all cultures share the "Men hunt/Dominant" rhetoric. There are plenty of cultures in which men are the ones that raise children while the women hunt. So unfortunately that line of thinking is moot. Biologically, men tend to develop more muscle mass due to testosterone. It builds muscle quicker, and I can certainly confirm that from personal experience. However, there is a distinct lack of certain emotional spectrums limited by that specific hormone. I can also attest to that from personal experience.

I completely understand the basis for the argument of having female players not be as good from a biology perspective. Estrogen makes it harder to sustain muscle mass, and during my transition I lost 90% of the muscle I had gained without changing my workout regimen. However, from the perspective of a gamer, why include a class that will be inherently destroyed by the other.

What incentive do I have to play as a female player over a male one then? Most games have set advantages for class. Class A is a big strong tank, but slow. Class B is weaker overall, but faster and more maneuverable. It balances out based on preference and pkay style.

But in this sense, it's blatantly saying: "Don't pick women myplayers because they can't compete". At that point it's not worth including them. At that point it actually IS a waste of resources, because you're including a whole set of things no one will use because they are just completely out classed.

I do think a lot of the complaints the 2k community has in regards to "equality" are valid, but some definitely border on Toxic. This community is ****ing Toxic. Period. I'll show you the messages I get when someone pops onto my profile and realizes they got dropped off by a Trans Woman. Or the death threats I get just turning my microphone on. I'm not hyperbolizing here, either.

I really think that it's a catch 22, and unfortunately because basketball is so ingrained as masculine...and is especially prevalent in communities that tend to be anti-lgbtq and overtly toxic as far as how anything non masculine is treated...there's no good answer to this current situation.

You either waste resources by making a completely unplayable class, or you even the playing field and listen to the community bitch and moan because a "girl shouldn't dunk on me".



There, I tried to make sure I stayed mostly on 2k for you. I'll gladly have a discussion or debate if you'd like to take it to DMs. I'm very much not trying to be a bitch, but I deal with a lot of the talking points you bring up on a regular basis. I've had to do a lot of research on this stuff in the last 3 years because I'm expected to justify my existence on a psychological, genetic, and biological basis nearly daily. I'm open to good faith discussions.

The African Aka tribe, for one. The Chambri as well. There's also plenty of Matriarchal societies that even the load equally(although, i don't necessarily think a matriarchy is better than a patriarchy. It should just be equal footing across the board as far as societal importance.).

I do very much agree in biodiversity, and the fact of how biochemistry works in regard to muscular growth and what's "suited" for certain things. Stereotypical gender roles are, however, harmful to everyone. There shouldn't be this expectation of things because of biological sex, especially since the concept of gender itself is very much socially constructed. There's no divine manuscript that says "Men equal blue and muscle cars" and "Women equal pink and makeup". It's what's expected of us on a societal level, but blisteringly hostile expectation leads to nothing good. I'd even surmise it's one of the reasons the male suicide rate is as high as it is.

park is an arcade mode so i will expect them to play like their male counterparts.

now if they add them in rec that’s another story. we all saw this coming i just don’t understand who asked for this.

You basically have to make them skins. 7'3 350 pound women bodying men and dunking on them. Otherwise, you open a whole can of worms, and it yea it does suck that people troll like that, but I don't have that much of a problem with people doing 360 degree btl dunks, altho I do kinda have a problem with anyone doing them... in real game.
